I got a surprise package to review...when I opened it, it was a Seidio Multi-Function battery charger!!!! First I will say that is a must-have product for ALL HTC Incredible owners. HTC Incredible has proven to have a less powerful battery life than we would all like to see, and so the multi-function charger makes keeping an extra battery a breeze. Now, that is not all... You can also use this multi-function charger if you have a couple of different devices by switching the charging plates....and the USB connection can be used with any USB cord for charging.

Ease of Use...
Getting everything set up, took me a few minutes and the charger is really easy to use. The USB cord is longer than the stock charger and is softer, which makes it more convenient to use it anywhere. The phone can be charged direct from PC, or the charger, just by plugging in to appropriate sources and switching the AC/USB Power switch. As mentioned above, the multi-function charger can be used with different devices by switching the charging plates, or if you have more than one device. This makes it the most needed item.
Charging Process...
Charging the phone was nice and especially having the extra battery ready is very handy. The charging time for multi-function charger versus the stock charger is a little shorter but not by much...although considering that it charges two batteries at once, yes definitely shorter charging time. The wall charger, at least the one I had, did make a static high pitched noise, but it was not enough to bother me. I have heard other chargers to do that, so I am unsure of the cause.
Few Days Evaluation...
Over a few days of use, I can even further confirm that this is a must have product for smartphone owners which like to use a lot of battery juice. The charger is also very compact making it easy to take along while traveling, as it is small and the prongs completely fold in...which is something Seidio worked on and improved over the past multi-function chargers. Also keep in mind that the interchangeable charging plates is a guarantee for upgrades for newer devices as they come out. I can guarantee that this will be a high demand item.

I have purchased products similar to this, and the prongs that plug into the wall always break. At 30$, its quite expensive... how's the build quality?

I almost bought one before the Dinc came out. They were $19 then. Don't switch out batteries now though, so I'm not sure I would use it. I have a number of retractable MircoUSB cables (one on every computer now) and I carry one so I can charge almost anywhere if needed.

I continue to maintain that the best way to break those teeny tiny clips holding your Incredible together, is to keep opening and closing it. While my AT&T Tilt had an easy to remove back, the Incredible does not.

Slacker G2 Dock

Just received a Slacker G2 Dock ($15 with free S&H from eBay), plugged my Streak, and it works for charging and synchronization. I did not test A/V yet. A great, inexpensive and stylish alternative to a spare cable.

So this thing has the same PDMI connector? Does it work with a case on (i.e. Otterbox Commuter case)?

wow i might get two! Is there a regular plug for it or is the power from mini usb only?

Could you please post a pic of the Streak in this dock and showing that it is charging. If the PDMI connector on this Slacker G2 dock matches the Dell Streak and it charges - you seriously just found a hidden jewel! So I am eagerly awaiting your reply so we can verify and order these bad boys

Thanks for the photo's like, though how stable/sturdy is the phone on the dock? The main body of the dock seem's quite low and no where near the phone, so it looks like there's no support for the phone and it looks like its hanging on the PDMI connectors....is that a correct assumption?

;0 Also do you by chance have any sort of case. I am usually have mine in a Commuter case so I wonder if the case may prevent it from connecting all the way.
I think one could glue something to support the back if necessary so it's not as big of a concern as the fitment with the case on.

Update on the dock
The dock has 2 outputs, labeled "Line out" and "Headphones (symbol)".
When I try to play music while connected to USB, I get the familiar message that SD card content is not available when connected via USB. I unplugged the USB cable and played some music. There is no signal on any of the two outputs of the dock.

Also, I can say that Streak is quite stable on the dock, the center of gravity is well within the area of the dock, and the dock itself, while small, is quite heavy - it feels like it may have lead weight inside, and bottom of the dock is covered by non-slip rubber.

Thanks again. Do you think Streak being in a case would not allow the PDMI connector of the dock to go all the way in and thus not charge the device (or even letting it stay in the dock)?

Streak in a case on the Slacker dock
I have to remove my Commuter case to fit the Streak on the Slacker dock.
However, it may be possible to fit an extremely "lean" case, which does not increase the dimensions of the Streak, if such case even exists.

Thanks for your prompt response. I was afraid that may be the case (no pun intended ). From the many high res pictures I was able to find on the web it looks like the bottom portion of the case (near the charging port) will prevent it from going all the way in.
Still at $15 - it's a very nice deal. I'll have have to learn how to remove the case quickly and without damaging the case

Homemade Qi Charging back

Coming from a nexus 5 I am totally addicted to Qi charging. I have a Qi charging car dock, one on my bedside table, and one at the office. I was disappointed to learn Samsungs Qi back added some pretty significant thickness to the phone, and the third party Qi receivers seemed to add a bump on the back, and made battery swaps an awkward process.
So, I ordered a Qi receiver for 7 bucks to experiment with. http://www.ebay.com/itm/381033899497
When I got it I noticed the vast majority of the thickness was due to the wrap around adhesive, and labeling on it. I carefully pealed that off until I had a bare circuit board, and Qi coil. Then I noticed these things don't actually clip on to the charging contacts, it just kind of lays there, and with no adhesive it would just use the back cover to keep it in place. So then I had an obvious idea. Why apply it to the phone when you could just apply it to the back cover? I lined it up on the phone and put a dab of hot glue on the back of the card, then pressed the phones back on. A few minutes later I popped the cover off and was left when the Qi coil perfectly aligned on the back cover.
I put a couple strips of scotch tape on it to keep it all in place while testing it out, but so far it is working perfectly, and I can swap batteries without any awkward Qi coil floating around to mess with. After I add some magnets to it for my car dock I'll put a bead of superglue on it.

Whats the output? I tried the palm pre / touchstone method on my note 2 and then i fitted a qi setup with a qi bed but both options only outputted at 500ma so took a full 8 hours to charge, which is a big contrast to the 90-120 mins plugged in. I bouhht a battery kit and that worked out to be a massively better optikn for me since i no longer needed to put it kn charge at all, just swap out the battery and ive gone down the same route with my note 4, but if the module is outputting at 1a or more it might be wirth looking into this again??

It's rated for 1 amp, but to be honest I don't really care. I charge it before I go to bed, and it is charged when I wakeup. and that's all I really care about. If I need to fast charge it before I head out for a long day I can always plug it into the speed charger.

I use qi charging on the ebay coil I purchased and get about 890 ma on my note 4...

i bought a magnetic charger cable from ebay but it does not snap correctly in place and it's a pain in the *** to connect it correctly.
since i use a case I cannot use the docking station.
Is there any cable you can recommend?

I bought four different cheap ones from ebay. Four different styles... 3 cables and 1 usb micro adapter.
They are all complete garbage. One of them is usable as long as I don't touch or bump the phone at all while it's connected.
I've heard good things about the magnector cable but they are way more expensive. I'll stick with micro usb and the flap for the time being.

magnector is 15€ which is okay. it's a pitty that sony doesn't send one with the phone :/
charging via the usb-connector isn't an long-term option for me since i need to diasemble the case every time and heard that the flap may break or become leaky.
any other suggestions? otherwise i will buy a magnector tomorrow.

Magnector x2 is where it's at. It fits my new Devilcase with minimal plastic cutting.

Magnector for the win (X2 adapter or cable)
I have tried various adapters and cables and BY FAR the best ones are these:

The X2 adapter is fantastic if you want to carry it with you or plug it into existing microUSB cables, but their cable (in the same listing) is just as great, and a nice, flexible cable. I'm using the Magnector X cable in the car since that's easier to snap on and keep my phone in place. Unlike most magnetic connectors, these have a lil curve that fits perfectly with the side of the phone, preventing it from sliding off as easily, and the magnets are the strongest I've encountered so far.

Hmmm, maybe. All I can say is that one of the four ebay cables I bought terminates in a connector that looks identical to the one in your image. I mean completely identical. It's also the best out of the four I bought and the only one that I actually find usable. The connection is still pretty loose though.

100% neodymium magnet....the same to the others more blasonate connectors, at the end same force.
The problem is the more thickness of the connector.... but you can use on 100% of cases on web....same strong force but a little bit instable....I use my mag connection at home near my bed, I don't need brutal force for stay in charge...without remove my covers :good:

*** Just as an FYI. I tested all of these with my S8+. I ordered my Note 8, but like everyone else... Its on the way.
We can start with the Nylon Cable. Quality of it is great. Its actually braided and does work with fast charging. I have noticed there are a few aftermarket USB-C cords that do not support this regardless of the power brick used. I tried this with my Samsung power brick and the CHOETECH Desktop charger.
What I really liked is that this is a thick cord. Everything on this actually feels like quality.
On to the Charging Station... This one makes me happy. At work, my desk has all of my cables hidden for my multiple monitors, docking station and phone line. I do have two desktop plugs but I use one for my extra laptop and the other has to be shared for my 2 tablets and 2 phones. I brought the charging station to work and it did not disappoint.
There are 2 designated ports that allow for 3.0 charging. I have one tablet and one phone that use that. When plugged in at the same time, both said fast charging enabled. Here are the specs on this one.
Even though for some, this may not be a big deal, I actually like the stand. I don't have a place to hide this 6 USB brick, so it still looked presentable. Best part, this came with a USB-C cord. VERY cool.
Finally the Wireless Stand. I didn't get to play with this one as much as I wanted to but it was awesome. I had it on my charger for less that 20 min and had 30% juice from 15% up to 45%.
Even though I was fortunate enough to receive these from CHOETECH, I will always give my honest review on these. You're definitely getting your money's worth on these three items. Now if my Note 8 can arrive, I will update my photos with that phone.

I got a Symmetry Otterbox case (it's thinner and less substantial than the bigger Otterbox) .... will this charger charge Note 8 with the case on??
