Just curious if anyone has heard of any cases with a built in battery similar to the iphone mophie? I know I would be interested in buying one for the Nexus 4G.

Hello everyone,
I've been thinking about getting the nexus one for a while now but haven't primarily because of the reported multi-touch and 3G issues. Now I know open source software with a community is extremely powerful and I've read some mods on the android dev section of the nexus one forum on XDA and it seems solid.
The reason I am now thinking of switching is because my ATT contract with my iPhone 4 is way to expensive. I'm a long time iPhone user but I don't believe in getting ripped off.
I had the EVO 4G before and I learned the basics of rooting android devices (this was when the EVO still had NAND protection). I also have about 4 years of in and off *nix experience (Primarily Arch and Ubuntu).
Can anyone tell me if the N1 still has these problems and any more? I want to be as informed as possible before making a logical decision. Also the reason I would only get the N1 as my Android device is because I love how things work when they are Stock.. I hate Sense, and any other modifications from manufacturers.
Thanks !
ive personally not had any problems that have been described, but there is a vocal minority that claims they are existent. As for the screen switching, the nexus one does have a lower quality sensor (its actually dual touch not multitouch) and it sometimes switches planes when two fingers come close together. I have never had a situation where this has been detrimental to my usage and i have not found it a good reason to discount the nexus one.
i hope that helps
My experience with the n1 has been great, multitouch will work as will as your iphone I promise, it'll be the best phone you've owned, the community for the n1 is unmatched

Hi guys,
I have a Nexus One running 2.2 and was thinking about swapping it for a HTC HD2 and then putting Froyo on it myself. I like the fact that the HD2 has a bigger screen and pretty much the same spec as the Nexus One.
Does anyone know how the HTC HD2 runs after putting Froyo in it? Is it as fast as the N1 with Froyo? Is everything working like callls Wifi etc.? Would you do the swap I am about to do or do you think I'm mad?
Cheers,
M
I honestly hated my HD2. Good luck
Cheers Wylker......can I ask why though? What handset you got now man?

Probably because of windows mobile. =)
Cool! Anyone have one and put Froyo on it? Is it hard to do guys?

i did tried it on my HD2 last night . software still have alot not respone error not smooth running yet. had to force stop alot the screen look washed out compare to nexus one battery not recognized. and it running hot. i did see the advance of having larger screen thought.
Thank you tiensinh99. Do you have a link for a tutorial on how to put Froyo on it??
Larger screen... if you prefer that, that's probably the only thing that makes it better than the Nexus. The biggest downside is it being a windows based phone. Wait for galaxy S to come out for T-Mobile. Or go for EVO if you want a bigger screen, that would be a smarter way to go.
If I was to start all over though, and had a choice between those devices ... I'd buy a nexus one once again.
the instruction how to install is in the LEO general forum. also there r the dual boot intruction.
samsung galaxy S already came out on tmobile. and i'm still choice N1 over HD2 every time.
Cheers guys.....I think I have my answer.

Wasn't there another thread where someone was looking to swap his HD2 for an Nexus One?
Maybe these 2 should meet?

thinking of trading nexus one for iphone 3gs and htc hd2, both phones are unlocked. Would this trade be worth doing? I ve used an unlocked, jailbroken iphone before pretty solid, wouldnt mind playing with the hd2 for awhile.
I couldn't stand using my friends HD2 for more than 5 minutes.
wouldn't trade my nexus for that phone even if it could transform into optimus prime...
or build an island and transform into a jet and fly me to that island.. i don't care.
I would not do that. While it is neat to see android running on a a wm phone, it would never be nearly as stable as a real android phone. I had a touch diamond and I could never use android on a daily basis, had awful battery life and all kind of other problems
Hey guys, I am currently on the HD7 and am looking to trade for a Nexus One or even a Nexus S (any band I guess). I am just here to see what your thoughts are on the device. Honest opinion, I dont really have money to put in on the side, do you think I could do better than the Nexus One? I have a guy that will 1v1 a Galaxy S 4G as well. Is the Galaxy S4G better than the Nexus One?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Get the galaxy a,. Better cpu and gpu + google still supports it

If you're looking to unlock and root the N1 (if it hasn't been done already) then it won't matter if Google supports it or not. You may be able to get ICS through future ROMs. The SGS 4G's better gpu really only matters if you want better graphics...and the cpu isn't that much different. If I could do it again...even with the phones out there now, I'd get another N1. I've had mine since early last year and I've had zero problems with it up until it got dropped into a cup of beer. So, it's built very well and it runs as good as the day I bought it.
I really like the design of the Nexus One. Its gonna be a tough choice.
Which would be your recommendation people.
I currently use a ICS port of miui .
Upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus from the Nexus One. World of difference my man, if you don't mind the increase in size I'd say do it. Its all of the benefits of vanilla android + 720p screen. I got mine on Verizon therefore LTE as well.

Its not the size i am bothered about. Its the experience. GN is supposed to be good but its camera was heavily criticized.
Am looking to remain in HTC build devices as for many people have pointed out about not liking plastic feeling of samsung devices.
HTC one S or X
Nice devices

I just recently retired my Nexus One, too. I loved the phone so much but its hardware flaws made me part ways. The 200 MB for applications really caused me to give in. I could only transfer so much to my SD card!
I REALLY wanted a Galaxy Nexus but times are hard for me economically at the moment. But I did have an upgrade on my t-mobile account and I noticed the Nexus S is now free with 2 year extension at best buy and ordered it. I received my phone this past Friday, immediately rooted it, put a custom ICS ROM, and loving it thus far.
It's hard to believe the Nexus S is like a year old but people consider it outdated already. I'm thinking I'll probably buy the GSM Galaxy Nexus by the end of this year when I work a bit. Until then, the Nexus S is more than enough.
I "upgraded" to the nexus S a few months ago, really couldn't stand the cheap and plastic feel of the phone, so I sold it and went back to the N1.
A few weeks ago I bought an HTC sensation, and I'm now running Opensensation, very happy so far with it. Build quality is superb, and development is getting very active for CM9.
I'd really like an HTC One X, but the device is so new that there's no aosp development so far, and I can't stand Sense.
I just got a great deal on a Galaxy SII, so my Nexus is going to spend it's last few days as my phone... it will live on in my wife's possession unless she decides she must have a physical keyboard.
I thought the 200mb onboard limitation could be circumvented by using something like Mounts2SD and a class 10 microSDHC card? That's what I've been doing, anyhow. I really do like the Nexus One -- it feels rather solid and metallic. A bit small, though.

How is this phone to use nowadays? Honestly? I want to pick one up as I can get one, brand new for a pretty good price, however I was wondering how it would feel as in.... Taking long to load apps, feeling sluggish, battery life?
I want a phone of its size, tired of carrying around a tablet size phone!
I use to own a nexus 5 and loved it, would I get a similar experience to that??

I just ditched a Samsung S6 Edge so I could go back to my Moto X 2013. If you are buying one online, do you mind sharing a link? I'd like buy another as backup.
Yes, please go for it. It's still wildly relevant. 5.1 is more than enough to capture the Android experience and the MSM8960DT is the strongest Snapdragon SoC nobody ever knew.
