anyone know where I can get the tablet version for the 3.0 swype installer? switched browser from desktop to android but it doesn't seem like I'm getting the tablet version but getting the phone version instead. doesn't have the features that the honeycomb version has. also I'm not running an HC rom. not sure if that matters though.
Same here, but I'm also running it on my htc desire. On the desire swype is dark gray. On my tab its light grey. I think the swype installer gives you the version appropriate to your software.

Well, if you're not running honeycomb, there is no way you can install it through the official installer. You can check the different versions by searching swype 3 and your resolution, like HVGA, WVGA, WSVGA and so on.
The app is free already and open to public, so I don't think this is considered illegal.

Hey guys, I used to be on the Windows Mobile side, but now I'm on Android and I need your help.
My 2.1 Sprint Hero has just been rooted. The only reason I did this was in the hopes that I could, somehow, get the Vanilla Android UI back. However, sometimes I want the Sense UI. In short, I'd like to have my eclair and eat it too *ba dum tish*. So if there is an apk or some sort of rom that can give me that, that'd be perfect.
If there isn't, fine. I can do without the sense UI, but I need my phone to work. And by work, I mean the camera has got to preview, the GPS has to function, etc, etc...
Any tips?
I believe Fresh is Sense based and you can use LauncherPro or ADW Launcher for the "vanilla" feel and home switcher to switch between the 2

Both Red Dawn and Blue Echo are by Papa Smurf and based off of Fresh (include Sense), and they overclock, undervolt, all that jazz. They incorporare vanilla aspects side-by-side with Sense, like the contacts and dialer. And they look sweet.
If you want full AOSP, check cSrOm (Buufed). Its themed out too, and fast as hell.
Good luck!

Purehero for the vanilla AOSP thing.

That's an older leaked rom. If ur gonna use damage use 2.09
I purchased it for previous Android phones, so I download it on my NS.
Frankly I don't like the original 2.3 keyboard because it's kinda sluggish, but better keyboard is much more responsive. Give it a try.
No swype keyboard?
Swiftkey is vastly superior to Better Keyboard.
I'm loving the new stock keyboard. But I do wish I could install my official swype beta.

Thanks, it does work perfectly. I was thinking it was going to give me that error saying it was registered to another device. Looks like we have a maximum of 2 devices that we can have linked to the beta account. But you can reset it once at the beta page if you reach your max.
I'm partial to Smart Keyboard Pro, but I think Swiftkey is also pretty good. Not a Swype fan myself.
Swype is one of the best and most popular keyboard options for Android, available on Galaxy S. Given the fact Nexus S is based on the Galaxy S would Swype be available on that device as well? Still no info here beta*swype*com
I'm curious about this as well. But I'm thinking not. Does anyone know?
No, it won't have Swype. The hardware is Samsung, but the software is all Google. You'll have to get into the beta or get the .apk file somehow.
I had it on my Vibrant, but I'm still signed up to Beta from my Nexus One days...I prefered the Samsung Swype skin though.
Maybe some Samsung Devs will pack & sign a APK file for you guys!?
never tried swype but i'd like it on the NS
Swype was good when it first came out. It's gotten progressively more inaccurate somehow. i.e. pretty standard words are left out of the dictionary, and accuracy for me is way worse than when I was running 2.1 Eclair (stock JFD firmware on my Vibrant).
SWYPE
Tried to install two types of swype hvga and wvga and no luck DARN!
EDIT
WVGA WORKS YAY
Installed via Android Commander
Anyone that is in the beta program can install the official one. I just installed it on mine and it's working perfectly.
+1 for official Swype.

Swype should go commercial now.
I would pay up to $10 to have it.

Unfortunately, they never will, as it's not part of their business model.

Thanks!!!!
Swype is not to be distributed, per the forum rules, on non-swype devices
Bump.. It would be really awsome if we could have the samsung swype.. Anybody knows what it takes to port ?
*hint* someone posted an apk called SAIDKEYBOARD.apk in a topic called Swype in the Themes & App Section.
But don't take my word for it.

Is there a Honeycomb theme available for TnT Lite? Is theming even possible for that rom? Are there any other roms available for the G-Tab that are Honeycomb'd themed? Thanks!
EDIT:
Well, looks like no solid HC theme for TNT exists. Fortunately, mad-murdock over in the Nook forum has been up to some fantastic things with a HC'd CM. I'm going to try out that unless someone can point me to a HC'd TNT instead.
Here's the link to mad-murdock's thread. Latest upload is 4/3. Very fresh and looks great.

ADW Launcher has nice themes and one of them is a Honeycomb theme. I am looking for the HC unlock screen.
Is anyone theming the Rom itself or is that out of the question?
Hey, can anybody point me in the direction of a theme for any of the i897/i9000 roms (not CM7, MIUI, or AOSP) that is based off Windows Phone 7. I understand I can get Launcher 7, apps, etc; but I would like a theme.
I don't want a windows phone, so don't say "Get a Windows Phone if you want it" or anything to that regard, I just like the look.
Thanks in advance.
There aren't any for a non
Aosp i don't think. Maybe launcher pro or adw with a theme is the closest you'll get.
Why?
Why would anybody want a Windows theme on an Android? Just saying!!!

I didn't need a new launcher. I have launcher 7. I just needed themed apps/framework, but I decided to screw it.
Themed app icons? Or the entire app ui themed?

I have Launcher 7 lol. I need the actual apps themed, but it's not really a big deal anymore.

I wouldn't need themed icons when I said I had Launcher 7. I created this thread solely to see if anyone has made a theme, or could make one.
I know you decided to scrap the idea, but if you change your mind or someone stumbles upon this thread in the future (and the fact that I typed all this out and found all the links before I saw that you didn't want to do it anymore) I'll post this anyway.
I did this a few months back with some decent results. Keep in mind this is Gingerbread based as ICS didn't exist when I tried. YMMV on an ICS port.
I used MIUI with this theme. The project has been discontinued, but it may still work with more recent builds.
I used Launcher 7 (Free|Donate) but you may want to try out these apps which have recently become free. I have only seriously used Launcher 7, but previous versions seemed (I DID NOT TEST, this is just what it seemed like) to drain the battery a bit more than I liked. Again, this was months ago and not scientific and the battery "drain" was not serious.

I actually did that already lol, but I was looking for an i897 based samsung rom theme, but thanks a lot for the link to those free apps, I appreciate it!
