Where is the option for unlimited text messaging for my Verizon Galaxy Tab? It only does up to 5000 text messages and I use way more than that.

That is the only plan. It is unlimited to every verizon number but then you get 5000 for numbers outside the network. I have seen as many as 20000 on an account with no overage because of the unlimited verizon texting inckuded with that package. Now, if you only text people with other carriers and still need more than 5000, get google voice.

I keep getting text messages from unwanted people (someone from my past) and i was wondering if you could suggest an app. I have looked at a few apps on the market but either they interfeer with my incomming calls where i cant answer or hang up or they require a monthly susbcription. I just want something that will block an incomming text from a specific number, thats it, no more no less. I am on a prepaid play with staright talk so going through my cell phone provider wont help. Any suggestions. Thank in.

Since your in the U.S. And, on AT&T....
I'd recommend either
Straight Talk: 45$ a month unlimited talk/text however, they have nebulous TOS regarding their data limits. It's been discussed that you use about 2GB a month or 100MB a day without issue (being throttled or thrown off the network, with no refunds)
H20: 60$ unlimited talk/text/2GB data
Redpocket: 55$ unlimited talk/text/1GB data
Those are the ones that use AT&T's network and would be compatible with any locked (or unlocked) AT&T device.

I heard about Lightyear Wireless and from what I know, they offer Unlimited calling, texting, and internet (without caps) for only $59.99. No contract, no deposits, and no credit checks. From what I've learned also, they're using Sprint towers for their service and that would mean, no GSM phones.
They also have a referral program where you can get a FREE service if you use their service and refer 5 more customers to use the service as well.
Anyone tried this company before? Anybody knows the quality of their network?

Alright guys. Ran a search and didn't see topic yet (not for T-Mobile anyhow) so I figured I would start one.
I use T-Mobile prepaid. I've not seen a prepaid phone be able to utilize the visual voicemail app on T-Mobile monthly 4g...until now.
I just installed it on my nexus 4 and it works.
And yes... I know Google voice does as well. I use voice but not everyone calls my Google voice number, so I've been wanting to get visual voicemail straight from T-Mobile for a while. I am glad this works now and I hope it helps some of you out.

They don't need to call your Google voice number to leave a message there. You just need to have your phone forward to g voice.

T-Mobile prepaid doesn't allow conditional forwarding so that doesn't work.

Ya that's crazy! I just downloaded the visual voice-mail app and it actually worked!! This is the first phone that ever let me use my $30 prepaid plan and have vvm... I am thinking that they have no way to tell if you are a prepaid customer so the registration just goes through as if you were not on prepaid..? Anyways that's cool that I don't have to dial out anymore...:good:

Well, that works only if people call your g voice number only. If anyone calls your cell number they just dont get an option to leave a VM at all. In my case a good number of people still call my cell number so that isnt really a good option.

People with the $30 plan actually give that number out? I ported to GV and don't even know my $30 plan number! I let Google Voice handle everything, including message transcription. Called 611 and had them disable my T-Mo voicemail.
Loads better than a carrier branded VVM.

I agree but I had trouble porting my sprint number to Google voice and gave up. I ended up porting my sprint number to T-Mobile so I wouldn't lose it and now can't port my T-Mobile number(old sprint #) to GV. Any ideas? Excuse the off topic please just frustrated...

What is this visual voicemail you speak of? (I'm switching to T-mobile soon) TIA
YES! I've been waiting for others to post about this. I've noticed that mine has been working for about two weeks. I almost cried when I realized it started working. I hope it's not just some flaw in the VVM app update that's allowing us onto it. But one thing I did notice is that MetroPCS offers VVM on their plans of equal value. Maybe T-Mobile is following suit. Btw, I'm on the $60 T-Mobile Monthly4G plan.

The t mobile visual voicemail app. Basically it shows you who your voicemail is from
And allows you to pick and choose which voicemail you want to listen to rather than dialing out and having to listen to all of them.

I also use the T-Mobile VVM app since I'm on prepaid, works just fine, but I don't see why it can't be integrated into the stock phone app.
Can someone on a T-Mobile-based MVNO like StraightTalk or Solavei try the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app and see if it works?
I did not want to pay ATT $30 dollars a month for text service. But i do get about 50 text a month. Any feedback on free text programs that do not require a separate phone number or should i just pay the .20 cents per text ATT charges?
You can use tango or voxer app you can even send video messages etc MMS the while nine yards!! LoL as Long as you got connection register and you will be good to go:thumbup:

If you have Verizon's prepaid service then Advanced Calling 1.0 (HD Voice) will not be available.
I just finished a chat session with Verizon. I was having trouble finding "Get Products ----> Free Products" in my online account. As the representative explained this service is not available to prepaid accounts, only postpaid (contract) accounts.
So no HD calling. I can live with that. But, it also means no simultaneous voice/data, which was very important.
This is one of the hidden "Non Features" associated with Verizon's prepaid accounts. Could not find any mention of this in the advertising for prepaid, maybe in the fine print !
Probably affects few customers, but why me!
Well you can still have voice calls and data iirc, just 3g and not LTE. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...and did you try just looking under "Products" and not "Free products"? I believe I found mine alongside some paid features, yet it was free. But I am on contract.
