Why not just install CM7?
And there was me thinking they were all samsung roms!

I'm already on Cm7 v33 from MIUI. Custom rom makers change many things of the rom. I wanted to try if there is a custom CM7 rom for galaxy.
CM7 is really faster than any samsung stock or custom rom for my phone.

Best rom threads invariably get shut down because it creates bickering and bad feeling......there is no best rom, it depends on what you want.....the ONLY way to resolve this is to get into development and browse around and make your own mind up/experiment ............case closed!

Exactly, just try them all out and ofter some time you'll have your favourite ROM.
I think JUWE v5.0 is really nice.. give it a try ;-)
But it depends on what you expect form ROM, what style/design do you prefer..
The best roms is which fits you the best.
All roms hare almost bug free and very smooth.
Just try some and make your own choice

BEST is CM7 right .. i need that best in these custom roms ...

i recently got my galaxy back and flashed insanity on it, which works fine but any other rom i flash won't boot it will just go into a boot loop.
What's happening? can anyone help me out. I'm on an Australian Network.

Really good choice... But as Jason123420 says, put a ezbase rom because insanity rom uses a Cm7 kernel and you have this loopings..

I'm pretty sure its because cm7 uses a different file system then Sammy roms

Hi, I m looking for a rom which is similar to darky rom in terms of performance n battery
I m on darky rom 10.2 n its quite good, but it tends to freeze n reboot occasionally.
So I want to try out other roms..
I don't like fancy roms.
Simple, fast n stable vl do..
Plz suggest..

For what reason? If you want simple, snappy and stable stock with a good kernal beats a (Samsung based) "custom" rom. You can even add a theme of your choosing if you wish.
Or if you do want a custom ROM (a real custom ROM) go something AOSP based.

Hi, i was in that dilemma between customizing myself a stock rom or go for a custom rom that matched what i was looking for, i have tried cyanogen mod 7 (didnt like it), darkyrom with tw4 looked great but a had a lot of reboots (maybe because of the touchwiz 4).
Now i am using Jetpack Mod V6+, and its running fine, stable and very fast.

If you are looking for stability and battery performace try a KIES official stock ROM that it is in your contry. Do not try leaked ROMs such as JVP,JVR,JVS,JVT because they are beta.

you are comming form stock rom... if you directly jump to cm9 or cm10 things could be difficult for you as both these are quite buggy... go for cm7.. these are fast , stable as well as a totally new experience for stock users..
you can try miracle and apocalyase... both are based on cm7 and are super fast and bugs free...

I've just received Age GT-S5830 with stock 2.3.3 ROM. The problem is that it's very laggy so I was wondering which ROM would you recommend me for a start? Performance, speed and stability are the most important factors here. Would be CM10.1 by Mardon a good choice?
I've also noticed that there are several tutorials for rooting on forums. Could you please point me into right direction and tell me which one to follow?

Cm 10.1 by @Mardon is a very good option and if you wanna speed up your rom try scripts like fly in mod or crossbreeder
Also when you will install cm 10.1 by mardon you dont need to root it cos its rooted already.
If you like you can also try cm 10.2 by @Mardon it is also good option

Hmm what do you mean by "you don't need root". What's the installation procedure then when coming from stock 2.3.3?
Which one do you believe is faster, CM10.1.6 or CM10.2? How about CM7.2 ROM's, how do they compare?

To revert back to stock rom you should have file of stock rom and then you can flash it by using odin and going in to download mode
about you asking that which rom is faster if you want speed you can use cm 7.2 roms but if you wanna use latest go for cm 10.1 or 10.2 also i cannot gurantee you that roms above cm7.2 roms are lag free specially cm 10.1 or 10.2
But cm 10.1.6 by @Mardon is nice

YOU CAN GET HERE ROOT + CWM 5.0.2.6 FIXED
YOU NEED TO USE CWM TO FLASH IT!!! DON'T USE STOCK RECOVERY OR YOU COULD GET SERIOUS PROBLEMS!!!
