I woke up today & tried to use my swype keyboard & it said its expired. I've been on the pheonix ultimate rom for a month or so with minimal problems. Before I went to bed I used the fmr memory cleaner cuz I'm having issues with not being able to update apps due to low memory, it didn't help anyway. How can I get swype back, I can't go back to typing this blows. Do I have to reflash? Any advice will be appreciated.

The Swype beta expired. You can go sign up for the beta, and be 'official'. I tried it and it failed miserably - so I'm poking around trying to figure out how to fix my mess. I hate typing, too (even though I'm a fast touch typist on a real keyboard).

Swype beta 3 is available. I like it better than stock. Sorry, don't have a link, just google it.

Thanks for the advice, just a few questions tho. Would I have lost swype if I would have stayed stock froyo? I tried getting swype 3 but can not uninstall the curent verson to generate the liscence. I even tried w/ tb that started me in recovery then a weird screen, thought it bricked for a second.

Ok got swype back, I found a tool that came with the rom that uninstalled it for me so I could install the new swype. One last question, why can't I install apps because of low space when the phone shows I have at least a gig in each memory slot?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Easiest way to remove swype when it doesnt even give you the option on the manage applications list is to uninstall via titanium backup.
In regards to ZephCr this happened to my sister's captivate and had to reformat back to stock, dont know reason, but something got messed up on the phones internal memory where apps are stored.

I have cm6 and until recently, everytime I download a theme and apply it the dock bar always changes to the new theme except for the drawer button. It stays like the default one. Does anyone know how to fix this? Ill post a screen in a sec

Its been this way since adw released an update not too long ago. Im not sure if its that older themes arent fully compatible with the update or if thats just the way its going to be now. Im guessing its a compatibility issue that has to be resolved by the theme developers though.
Thanks for your reply I was dying to find our the cause of it.

yea it had my wife pretty ticked off when it happened. She thinks the stock drawer icon is ugly. LauncherPro is a great alternative though, especially if you get the "plus" version. Thats my launcher of choice.
I just noticed when I updated to 6.1 stable that this problem seems to have gone away. I've only done a little testing but it seems to show up every time now.

It seems my galaxy ace will suddenly scrolls down by itself, mostly in opera mini.
Sometimes, in google map, if "flicks" to another place by itself too.
Any one has the same digitizer problem? I'm thinking if I should take it for repair.
Or if someone already tried to get it fixed, but it'll never be fixed like some design error, I'd rather save my time...
Edit:
Tried both stock rom and CM7. My GF, a colleague and a friend who owns an ace told me they have the same issue
i have this bug too, and i think all ace users has it too. and for now there isnt any fix for it.
And I thought I was the only one having this problem. Samsung sucks >_<

I'll take it to Samsung later today.
I hope it can be fixed, its getting annoying.
Lol, you can't fix something that's wrong with all the Aces. I have that problem too. I'm guessing its another factory fault like the battery meter.
Got the phone back, the problem still exists.
What apps are u guys using when the erratic scrolls occurs?
No wonder samsung doesn't care, it seems the users don't really care, except me
I'll try to fix it in the touch driver in the kernel and release a patch if it's fixed.
The plan is to filter those extremely quick finger press and release events, where those events are impossible to be human(by time and distance of the 2 points).
I can't seem to find the kernel source for the CM7 roms for ace, so it'll be a patch for the stock kernel.
Same problem here, this scrolling glitch gets very annoying after some time
Its kinda spooky hhhh. Like a ghost using ur phone too
Is there any patch for it ?
For me it scrolls up...
Then I used a touch test and this after repeatedly moving my finger around in the left bottom corner, this is what I got.
This problem also makes it difficult to use swype!

I just seen a thread for this. Some people have taken their phone into repair which they can't fix it. Its a hardware fault. If you can prove that its doing that after they repair it, there is a chance to get a different phone of about the same value.

I share the same observation, after the ICS update my Galaxy note the package access helper is using most of the CPU, and it is draining the battery!
Any help in understanding the process would be helpful
Ive just checked my phone and no Package acess helper icon there but i do have battery drain

I've tried stock ICS LPY and LQ2 and it seems this is one of those rogue services that is destined to fry your phone. It seems to fire up when uninstalling apps and then gobbles up huge amounts of CPU and just keeps going.
This morning I installed 3-4 small apps and quickly uninstalled two of them. The uninstalls took ages - like over a minute each - and the phone was getting warm at the back. I used System Panel Lite to check on processes and CPU usage and this little ****er was going like the clappers and showing no sign of stopping.
Another one to look out for on stock ICS is the Samsung keyboard, and possibly other keyboards (e.g. Swiftkey X) too. They seem capable of clocking up huge CPU minutes if the wind is in the wrong direction, despite the keyboard barely being used, if at all. I have no idea what prompts the crazy behaviour on that one, but I've seen it several times over the course of different ICS installs.
I never saw these problems with the Gingerbread ROMs.
Up..
Can anyone help us with this annoying problem?
I don't know why it would have high battery usage unless an install did not complete correctly and left the process running. Have you tried a battery pull reset?
Greetings XDA community.
I have been using Maverick 3.0 on my Droid 3 for severial months, and I did not have any issues. I installed Maverick 4.5 a few weeks ago and I've been having a problem where if my phone is idling for a while and I try to wake it up, I get a blank screen and I can't do anything but pull the battery to restart the phone. Today, I booted into recovery and restored a backup I made while Maverick 3.0 was installed, and now I am still having exactly the same problem - I try to wake up the phone and I get the same damn black screen again. This never happened before with Maverick 3.0. I'm assuming this is a hardware problem? Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same problem, I believe its related to the overclock modules. Oddly enough changing the memory management settings seems to have fixed it. Give me a minute and ill grab my settings for you

It's a known issue. To my knowledge there is no specific solution. What Endoroid suggested above works to an extent, but it did not work for me with those exact same settings. With those settings, my screen would not wake after an hour of inactivity instead of the original 20min or so. So I believe it is YMMV.
I changed the memory settings last night and I haven't had any problems so far. Thanks for your help

Has anyone else seen this? It doesn't seem to have any specific app it just happens randomly.

That's a toast notification and not one that's standard in Android. If you have any sort of task killer app or cache cleaning app I would look at that as the first culprit.

What is a toast notification? I have no task killers installed and never have.
It just refers to the style of notification you're seeing. Toast notifications are popups that are not actionable and not persistent.
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/notifiers/toasts.html
Unfortunately there's no easy way to determine what is generating the toast notification unless you are rooted. Some people have reported that the M-Go app produces these notifications. Regardless, it's not part of stock Android and it is being generated by some app that you have installed.
I do have the MGO app uninstall it for now to see what happens. Thanks for the info.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
I don't want to talk to you early but I think uninstalling MGO fixed that issue. I haven't had that error since I removed it.
Thank you for the suggestion.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
has now been a full day without the M-Go app and no errors. Bettery also has been much better without that app installed.
TY again for the info
I'm glad this worked for you. What does MGo do anyway?

Video service that took over the service Samsung had. Only use it now because I had some credit from some titles that did not transfer from Samsung. I have about $40 credit. Will use it till I am out of credit. It supports Chromecast too.
Have not reinstalled it and error has been gone since. Phone battery is better without it too.
