So, has anyone found a dialer/address book that will merge google and facebook contacts? It's just strange that the Revolution can't do that.

Rev does it... The facebook app asks you when you first use if you want to do it automatically. Or you can do it manually by using the steps below:
Select the contact from the contacts list.
Press the Menu softkey.
Select Edit Contact
Press Menu softkey again
Select Join
Select a contact to join.
Awesome. Thanks.

Hi All,
Just got my Vibriant and had a quick question. I send alot of group emails and text messaging. I sync'd all my exchange, gmail and facebook contacts and they all show up under their own specific groups. I am able to create a group, but when I go to add a contact, it says no contacts? I also, try to go to the specific contact that I want to add but their is no where to select a group?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Ha, I thought I was the only one that couldn't figure this out. I gave up after screwing with it for 5 minutes.
I think grouping is not available for google contacts. Its only for "phone" contacts

OK that explains it all my contacts are google contacts.
So would I need to import some how the corporate contacts that I have to the phone contacts to customize my own group? I will try... Another thing that I notice, I have 384 coporate contacts and if you long hold your corporate group you can check mark the contacts that you want but for me that's a long process...

Hey All, just uploaded an app from the marketplace called "Groupy" and it solved my problem! You can pick contacts and move them into your groups you created in your contacts! Once you do that you can go back into your contact app and send a group sms!
Sent from my Samsung Vibrant using XDA App
I have the answer! I had some problems with this as well. The best way that I have found to do this is:
1. Download Contacts2Sim from the marketplace
2. Use it to transfer all of your contacts to your sim card
3. Select the contacts you want and go to your phone and transfer them one by one from sim to phone.
4. Now that they are on the phone you can set up groups using with the contacts that you just moved over.
5. Once you set up your group, go back to contacts2sim app and delete the contacts from the sim
6. Restarting the phone will remove the duplicate entries from your contact list.
That should be it. Took me a day to figure it out. Any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] or post a reply here.

Hope this helps someone, I downloaded Groupy and was about to D/L another app; I found you can set sms groups with the android software (SGS) NO OTHER APP NEEDED;
1. copy contact from SIM to phone
2. open contacts
3. go to groups
4. open menu and create your group
5. open your group and select (add) contacts
happy group SMSing
When I first got this phone I synced up my contacts from my computer but now I've merged everything on gmail, is there a way to remove all the contacts on the phone leaving only the ones from gmail?

go into contacts then display options
uncheck everything BUT phone
then go to groups
create a group call it something like delete add contacts to group select them all
when done long press on group choose delete
then select delete group and members
then go back and recheck google in display options.
Thank you for that. I never would have done that on my own

No problem. Happy to help where I can.
almost all sense 3.5 roms have this problem with fb app not syncing contact pics i did find a solution but
The process is painstakingly slow and avoid it if u have too many friends or if u r not intrested
1) update the fb app to latest version
2) go to fb app > settings > sync contacts > select either first or second option
do this if u haven't done this earlier
3) go to friends section and wait for their pics to load then start scrolling down slowly and wait for some more pics to load do this until all the pics are loaded
4) if u still couldn't get contact pics then try linking the contacts manually
.........
i hope this helps its really irritating to see blank contacts
HIT the thanks button if this helped you
Or download friends sync. Done in about 10 seconds and it don't upload contacts that arnt in your phone contact book etc.

Hello. For some reason my Gmail app won't handle email addresses I click on in my browser anymore. I'm using the stock browser. It defaults to the Gmail site instead.

Go to Settings>Apps then select your browser. In the browser app settings just below "clear cache" is the option "clear defaults" hit that
Now do the same for your Gmail app. Then next time you select an email address you should be asked to select which app to use select Gmail and Always

I thought it was going to work, but the browser didn't have any defaults set. The email links I try to click are on Craigslist, if that makes a difference. It just takes me to my gmail account through the browser. I wouldn't have any issues with that in particular, but it just takes me to the inbox only, never the compose email screen.

So did you clear defaults for Gmail any way. After testing this I had the same problem with the Defualt browser. After setting Gmail as Default Mail app. The browser app setting still showed no defaults set.
So I cleared my Gmail Defaults and it worked. It gives me the option screen to choose which mail app to use again.

Guess not.... Soooooo annoying having the emails and google+ profiles and everything in there
I think the only way to do it would be to have them in separate groups from the email only and g+ contacts. If under contacts hit the menu button and select contacts to display you can go custom and select your google account and just select the groups you want
