Help: OC/UV settings - LG Optimus 2x

I'm new to O2X undervolting, and I seem to be lost with the Kernel possibilities.
Is there a resource you can lead me to that offers a nice tutorial as to what OC/UV values are optimal (and at the same time safe) for our O2X? Or, mind sharing your settings?
I am currently on Cpasjuste's OC/UV kernel, stock v10b ROM, no OC, -25mV UVs.
In short, here's mine:

300 Mhz / 770 mV
500 Mhz / 775 mV
650 Mhz / 825 mV
750 Mhz / 850 mV
900 Mhz / 925 mV
1000 Mhz / 975 mV

Be conservative like u have, 25 to 50 off totals except 300mhz is a good safe uv.
Anything more is just silly/dangerous.

Uv is not dangerous. Ive got 1000mhz on 900Mv runs great...

Well the word dangerous was probably a tad harsh but there’s always a chance for loss of data and stability issues.
Note: You can't undervolt lower then 770mv on a Tegra device which the lowest speed of 300mhz (depending on kernel) defaults to, plus each device is different and will uv/oc differently so no real spec sheet can give definitive answers for your device, only trial and error.
I’m running -50 for all values except for 500mhz -25 and 300 default and using mck kernel r14.
I liked cpasjuste’s version 5 kernel "alot", be heading back once his version 8 issues are fixed soon.

AFAIK, the only issue with v8 is loss of tethering right? (As I don't use that anyway.)
I'm looking for a specsheet as that will tell us the long-term allowable operating voltage and temperatures of our CPU. (Back in my milestone, there was a post in Android-Hilfe that used the TI OMAP specsheet as basis for our 60vsel OC settings.)
Below are my current freq settings:

I read somewhere the min. voltage is something like 750, so your uv at the low range has no effect.

The chip in our beloved LG O2X cannot output voltages lower than 770 mV.. So assigning any UV-values below 770 mV is useless.

Sorry but can you proof it?! Nearly all of us got more than 60°C with 1300MHz so I can't really believe it.

Running max 1.2ghz on 1050Mv
Its stable and cpu temp is between 40 and 50 degrees.

Luckily I'm one of them with a tegra 2 running stable on 1700mhz.
Now I'm playing around to get a lower voltage profile. My first try was interesting successful running [email protected]

For the stresstests I'm using StabilityTest.
it is interesting, that linpack gets the best results when the cpu is running at the lower voltage limit.
but the most stable settings are the default settings, there also 1700mhz are working in the stress test stable

You know, this tipe of settings is avaiable only on costum kernel like kolk's, lauferstepperwolf's or iodak's.

btw: to find best configuration of voltages I need to undervolt by 10mV and test with quadrant if the phone is stable? and if it is stable undervolt again by 10 mV?

-75 mV for cpu on iodak's kernel with variant 1. It looks stable also at - 100,but I think it's too much.

I'm running into some big troubles - burn tested on 1.7GHz at something like 1225mV then battery got to 0 - won't start properly and when I do, data fails.

Hey guys, sorry for bumping an old thread. I just want to ask if any of you experienced freeze with just -10mV for MPU?
I'm currently on Stock V20A, with WerewolfJB v10, Ottoman's V2 script and SQLite.
I use Device Control (like one on NamelessROM) to change governors.
CPU Variant: 2
CPU Governor: Conservative
IO Scheduler: SIO
I use Conservative because my device gets hot pretty quickly on Interactive/SmartAssV2, like 70-80C after using at least 10-20mins. I get stutters in Conservative but it's manageable, and I don't go beyond 50C even with heavy use.
Knowing it won't do any harm with a little tweaking, I undervolt Interactive by -50mV, and my device would freeze in less than 10mins. On -25mV, it improved a bit but it froze after 30mins. So I thought, maybe -10mV would be perfect for me but then, after an hour, the device froze again (SetCPU's stress test lasted only for 2mins on -10mV).
Am I doing something wrong here? I can see that many of you UV'd your device @ -100mV and get a stable performance.

Do you recommend underclocking my CPU?

Hello I have the 4x HD with CM10.1 installed the problem is that when I play games or when in direct sunlight my phone overheats and it occurred to me that maybe underclocking the CPU will help what do you guys think about that?

By normal usage the 2nd Core would like more come on.
And the battery drain would like higher.
Underlock to 1300 MHz and setting under volting fuse to :

When you set a lower frequency of the CPU.
The CPU would like take less voltage for the step.
But you can set more less voltage when you have a custom kernel that support undervolting and undervolting the different steps with your own volt steps.
Use Trickster Mod for it and undervolting in -10 UV steps and test it. Whether the CPU work stable.

I wonder if undervolting it will help you. Could you test your phone after undervolting it and give a report? If it makes the phone run cool, it would help increasing the life expectancy of this phone.
Try it with some games at 100% brightness,50% brightness and some HD videos and using the camera. The phone heats up in each of these cases in my phone.
I dont have CM right now because I disliked it after using it for 2 weeks.

Try another over-clockable kernel, but i advice u to stay at the 1600 mhz no more.

I wouldnt worry about it, the difference between 1600-1700mhz is tiny and a 100mv voltage jump is a big jump to get 1700 stable. Personally is underclock mine to around 1200-1300

well, in that case you have no choice but to stay at 1.6GHz...
and two more side notes: i'd recommend tricksterMOD for such things like UV/OV, ... (i use it myself as well --> "guaranteed" working )
and the max voltage is capped @ 1300mV. more would be too much (remember, we have mobile device with no cooling, not like a lappy )
I would stay at 1600 MHz. The battery gets hot enough without pushing the phone.
I for my part had it underclocked at 1200 and after Optimux Prime kernel Im using 1500MHZ.

Using in ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386561 and so far did not show any apparent bug. Very fluid system. No overheating, lags and crashes. Let's wait a few more days. But congratulations on the good work.

It would also be extra handy if your next kernel iteration could be able to prepare delicious meals, automagically disconnect when my ex-wipe™ calls and bark at postmen when they enter my front yard. Please consider including these useful futures®, I'd much appreciate it.
OK so after a few hours of testing, the phone is not heating up at all and its very fast and fluid but the battery runs down too quickly, lost 3 percent in time it took me to type this. I'll test how well it sleeps next and report back

I will release two undervolted test builds (CPU and GPU) as soon as I can. CPU will only affect group B as I can't test for group A and C.
I do not intend to add some fancy features or overclocking to this kernel. I'm trying to make simple changes that have a real impact.
Remember : the main bottleneck of the Note is in userspace, not the kernel. The latest Insignal source drop may improve a lot the smoothness of our device. It is not merged yet into CyanogenMod, as it requires some big changes, but it will come some day. Crossing fingers.
I'm waiting for some more feedback...

Im on a volt group B.
The most stable undervolt I use from ICS to JB is:
MHZ----------VOLT
1400---------1175
1200---------1150
1000---------1075
800-------------950
500-------------875
200-------------850
I use this all the time on TW, NX, LoKi kernel and no instability.
Will try your kernel later when I get to charge it a little bit more.

GPU undervolting test build #2
Slightly increased lowest GPU step from 133 to 134MHz as Tegrak was reporting an actual frequency of 115MHz. It should be even smoother now.
CPU voltage is stock, while the GPU voltage table is set as follow :

EDIT: I spotted a mistake in mali_platform_dvfs.c which was setting a higher voltage than needed when ASV_LEVEL was set to 0, so I set it to 1 (fix included in this build). Default voltages are 1100 and 1000mV in CM10.1 while it should be 1000mV and 950mV

Hi! Just to clarify. Does this new build raw_kernel_r1_gpu have stock CPU mV like in OP or is this packed with the test build raw_kernel_r1_cpu from above?

This build indeed has stock CPU voltage table as said in the previous post. Thus if anyone has a problem, it will help me to fix the right voltage table (cpu or gpu).
However, the next r2 build will have both included. Also, you must know that the modifications only affect group B as I can't test for group A or C, and group B represents 90% of the Notes out there.
