[Q] Phone freeze during shutdown? - LG Optimus 2x

Hello
I am having trouble shutting down my phone from time to time.
I select to shutdown and then the 'shutting down' message appears for some time and then the screen goes black. But afterwards when I try to turn my phone on nothing happens. I need to remove the battery before I can turn my phone on.
Does anyone else have or had had this similair problem, and maybe a solution for it?
Thanks in advance.

Bump
Bump.
No one else having this issue?

I havn't had the issue myself nor have I read about anybody else but you having it. Have you rooted and have you installed a custom rom?
If it is all stock it does sound like yours might have something more wrong with it other than the usual shutdowns, reboots and freezes that is known on this device.

Yes, my phone is rooted, CM7-nightlies.56, vorkKernel-20110622 OC'ed to 1400mhz, 606 ril and 606 baseband. If nobody else is experiencing this problem I might have to try the stock rom for a period to compare...
But thanks for the reply.

Screen going off causes reboot

Hi there. First timer on the forums
I have searched all around the place and on google, and so far I haven't found nobody (with a X8, a guy with the same exact problem on a HTC Thunderbolt? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1147670, can't understand his solution, doesn't apply to X8 AFAIK) with the same problem I have. The thing is, the phone reboots when the screen goes off unless it is charging or playing music in the background. Even if I lock it with the power button. Screen goes off, ten seconds from there, Sony Ericsson logo.
So far I've tried 3 roms since I got the phone, GingerDX (didn't recognize my SD, discarded it instantly), Gingerbread (reboot issue, didn't like it either D and now I'm using Gingercruzt (reboot issue, I'd like to keep it). All the roms were on their latest version as of today.
Does anybody know any solution to this?
Thanks in advance!!!
UPDATE: I'm sorry I didn't dare to try everything before. I wiped everything and started to install all apps one by one and it's working so far, haven't installed them all, gotta check if maybe one of them is causing issues.
It worked. For a while. Installing too many apps (if 11 can be considered too many) causes the reboot issue, after getting tired went back to Froyobread, it was working, but when I tried to connect to a Adhoc wifi connection, it started to reboot again on screen lock. I'm just tired of this, I'm gonna try kuyadroid and maybe some other rom... but does anybody have any idea why this is happening?
Kuyadroid reboots when i connect through wifi but only sometimes, when it reboots and i connect again it dont reboot on screen timeout.

Anyone having problems booting up?

So this is my wifes phone and the only thing that has been done if the phone is rooted. If we power her phone off and try to power it up everything works fine. But if we power it off and leave it over night the phone will not reboot unless we pull the battery the next morning.
Anyone else have this issue with thier Thrill?

Its only happened to me once but that was cause the battery died at night. Forgot about it the next morning and tried to turn it on. Nothing. Plugged it in. Nothing. Had to pull the battery and then plug it back in and it finally booted. Not exactly the same situation, but hey, its happened
And thats the one and only time its happened to me.
It does this even with a fully charged battery. Makes me wonder if it is a bad root causing the issue.
Well has anyone else had this issue at all yet? I even re-rooted the phone and it is still doing it. I read somewhere that fixing permissions using CWM can have some negative effects on the Thrill, could this be the cause?
Anyone else have any suggestions what to do in order to fix this issue. As of right now the phone has to stay on all the time, otherwise you have to pull the battery to get the phone to boot.

I doubt fixing permissions would fix anything since it really only messes with apk/service permissions. Nothing of that sort would affect whether the phone powers on. Its more of a fix for force closes. Are you within your window to exchange it?

Previously when I had CWM fix permissions I would have the phone randomly restart, but it would still boot up and everything.

Yes we are, that was my next thought was to exchange it for a new one and try again.

[Q] Galaxy S screen keeps blinking?

Hi, my SGS is working fine all the while. But sometimes after i unplug the power adapter upon fully charge, the screen keeps blinking in the way like loading home(loading icons)->black screen->loading honme-> black screen->.....
it repeats for very a long time, even if i manually screen off then unlock the screen, the blinking problem still repeating. Until i reboot the device, it works fine again... Happened once in the middle of playing game, it suddenly 'jump' to home screen and the blinking problem begin
Wonder if this related to system crash and cause home screen keeps loading on and off or hardware problem... did anyone experience this?
I've never heard of this before. To diagnose whether it's a hardware problem, your only bet would probably be to flash a clean firmware. Maybe someone will have heard of this though.

Try a stock firmware, that should tell you whether or not it's a hardware issue. If it isn't, it's probably kernel related. Hopefully you can figure it out!
i have got the same problem too.. =(( how to fixed it.. the screen keep blinking...
Flash stock firmware . Then if its fixed pls report here.

I've flashed from 2.1 to 2.3.6 and still it's blinking
Does anyone know how to fix it?
same issue
hi,
i have the same issue as well with 2.3.6, BaseBand version I9000XXJVU.
It is not a stock rom and it started appearing just a few days ago. It happens when i plug to charge it and after unplugging it. I have not noticed when it stops.
A friend of mine has the same issue, but with 2.3.4 stock firmware, so i think it is not firmware related.
Any new info on this? what could i provide for further troubleshooting
Main issue is of course that it drains the battery quite much and also allows you to mistakenly unlock the phone when the screen is on, so i was forced to put patter or PIN lock.
Cheers...

If you have ChatOn app try to uninstall it. Did work for me. (I my case the issue appeared when the internet was accessed via any browser. Same blinking pattern though)

Screen flickers then turns off.

My galaxy note recently the sometimes flickers and once it does it turns off, and when i try to turn it back on same thing happens, and always after a few tries to turn on the phone it works normally, its not always flickering but once it does its a nuisance as it the whole device is unusable and im unable to turn the device on as it freezes and shuts down again.
I do not believe its a rom issue because its happened on two different roms, asylum rom and PA ICS.
has anyone else suffered from this, and is there any solution to this?
regards,

yes there are a lot of them with the similar issue if you read, its asking you to replace the battery.
Agree, had the same behaviour so I replaced my old battery with a new one all issues are gone.

[Q] Xperia SP reboots when WIFI is on and screen goes to sleep

Xperia SP on stock 4.3 ROM. Bootloader is locked and the phone is not rooted.
Issue started a few days ago, whenever the screen goes off while the WIFI is on the phone reboots. Once it reboots, if I don't switch WIFI off the phone keeps rebooting and warms up. While the screen is on, the phone works great, no issues at all. When the screen goes off, it reboots.
What I've tried so far:
Boot into safe mode, same issue
Repair with SUS, same issue
Downgrade to stock 4.1, same issue
Upgrade to different stock 4.3, same issue
Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas for a workaround?
Thx
I can only suggest go to a repair centre and ask for a refund or fix. This sounds like a hardware issue and you've tried like all the possible solutions there is nothing more you can do.
You can try any custom ROM.. But I dunno if that helps.

Yes, you are probably right.
I noticed today that it reboots while charging too, with or withouth WiFi on, so it looks like a hardware issue.
Thanks
