Nope the normal one... Ok that's strange that you can't handle zipped or rar'd files. What version are you on as in baseband?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Search the market for a app called "download all files"
It will allow you to download any file type from your browser. Just instal it, then download like you regularly would inside your browser.
Hit thanks if I have helped.

what concerns me is that you should not have this issue in the first place???? But then there could be something not right with the flash of your rom that causes this... would suggest going back into the dev thread where you got the rom and search if there is any other work around as well, if not record this as a bug in there

I'm on VEGAn Beta 5.1
I have full market capability, Ok.. Maybe its more like 98.9% capabilities.. *lol*
Check this video on getting full market, it really worked for me with this ROM.

Edit: I just installed "NYTimes for Android Phones" and it works fine with the GTAB.
I'll try that later, it tells me there's no connection.
P.s. I hate your tab for having it work lol

You might be interested in checking out Readers Hub and Zinio with it. The combination will let you subscribe to hundreds of newspapers and almost a hundred magazines. It works great on my gTab running VEGAn beta 5.1.

Pardon the newbie, but how do I install this? I tried renaming to an API, but while that brings up the normal install screen with permissions, it then won't install.

Do not rename it. Copy the zip to your gTab (I use my Download directory) and then launch it by selecting it and it will install. You must have set your gTab to allow for installation of "unknown sources" in your Settings --> Application --> Unknown Sources.
If you're going to be doing a lot of sideloading I would highly recommend you sign up for a free Dropbox account which will allow you to move files back and forth from any device that you install Dropbox on.

So, I already had that in settings, but when I go to "select it", ES File Manager does not give me an option to install. If I "double click" it simply navigates into the ZIP file. Obviously some simple step I'm overlooking?

Same problem as renaming to an APK. It starts to install, then quits with no message other than "Application not Installed". I'm wondering if it is checking for something that is (or isn't) present on my G-tab.
I'm running Vegan 5.1 with the ClemSyn kernel if that would make a difference.
I would download it again then flash the zip in cwm. Maybe it got corrupt somehow.

I know you got your answer, but if you had spent some time reading the Andromeda threads in Q&A (a sticky) and Dev you would have gotten your answer easily. This should have been posted in the sticky. That's what it is here for. Please use it before starting a new thread in the future.

Another WTF WHY moment.. in addition to no Screen Mode - no wonder I was also having a hard time locating the Video Maker..
Anyone with the AT&T version get the Video Maker APK working from an international version?
Can anyone with the international Galaxy Note GT-N7000 backup the APK with file expert etc & upload it to this forum or link it somewhere to see how it runs on the AT&T Galaxy Note I717 .. -Thnx

I'd decided to wait at least until after MWC next week before deciding on any SGNote-upgrade..otherwise I'd try that "TrimApp.apk" & report back to the forum how well the international Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Video Maker works on the AT&T Galaxy Note I717..
I just saw it... Do you need sPlaner too?
And probably you will need this lib file too for video editor:
http://db.tt/6FYYgUks
Put this file into system/lib/ folder.
EDIT: I REALIZE THAT TRIM.APK ISN'T CORRECT ONE.I WILL POST RIGHT APP...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
There are correct files for Video editor and sPlaner.Sorry for previous mistake.

It's a 7z file but you can open it with ES File Explorer from market.

Downloaded, unzipped, and installed the Video Maker apk. It doesn't show up in the app tray. Must not be compatible with the OMAP processor. Too bad. I wonder if we'll ever get a version for the AT&T Note.
Did you put a lib file in system/lib too?And you probably need trim.apk also for cuting video files.
I just try to install app on my phone and I can't install it either. You MUST COPY apk into system/apps folder! And for sure put Trim.apk into system/apps/ and lib file into system/lib/ folder. But you need root for this.

I'd heard a rumor that this missing Movie Maker app as well as missing screen mode may not run well on the AT&T Galaxy Note I717 graphics hardware hence they were removed but the rumor remains totally uncorroborated..
If it's not a hardware issue, perhaps Samsung is worried about additional legal battles with the litigious Apple if they include this (

Movie Maker app in the US market (like the physical home button issue)?
I'd appreciate a better understanding of the rationale behind all these differences between the SGNote models..hopefully it's not a hardware limitation but until it is actually running on the AT&T Galaxy Note I717 that's a possibility..

You sure that the ROM is in a .rar file? Maybe you have the wrong file, because I think this link for the ROM and it isn't compressed in a .rar file, it's on a normal .zip.
