Hey everyone, So as we all know our awesome devs here in the vibrant community have recently gotten our gps working with gingerbread. That is in my opinion, a huge milestone, and I was very happy to read the news. Now, as it seems, the only thing missing from fully functional gingerbread is wifi calling. So, I came across this: http://unforgivendevelopment.com/20...bile-wifi-calling-for-cyanogenmod-7-on-nexus-
while browsing the vibrant Q&A section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110050
Im just curious, is there any way someone could make this work for our vibrants, since the nexus one and vibrant are in some ways, similar? Of course after getting permission from/crediting unforgiven512 for his hard work.
Any thoughts on this??
+1 please!

It would probably be easier to port it from Vibrant 4G. And anyone who's interested I've already pulled (most of) the parts but it still hangs at enabling.

I tried that too - same result. I read that the 4G wifi and gps are different hardware than the T959. I know Dan Brutal tried the wifi calling from the 4g for 2.2.1 and it didn't work.
I'm not sure about the nexus. Is there a hardware comparison somewhere like there is for the vibrant and the 4g.
It would be interesting to know what unforgiven512 had to change.

Because you need a Vibrant ril and a modem for it to connect.
Then you should download Exhibit 4G source code and add their kineto module to the kernel.
Ya I need this no service at my own house
Vibrant owns cm7

For the time being, I'm using groove ip. Its in the market for like 3 or 4 dollars. I Just sign in with my google voice info and it routes my calls through wifi or 3g. It's not perfect but better than nothing.

So you're saying I need kineto in the kernel? I am using the vibrant ril and ril_switch, pulled from 4G is absolute no service, with the gan and kineto from 4g and of course build prop edits.

Yes! I'm so glad your working on this. Even better yet, I am on miui also. I was gonna switch to cyanogen for this feature. Are you using the base from the op? I wonder if what you have so far would work with cyanogen since cyanogen is what the people with nexus ones are able to get it working on. I think I speak for everyone with a vibrant when I say thank you for taking the time and effort to make this work for our device. Fingers crossed, good luck!

I'm using the libs and Wifi Calling app from the Galaxy S 4G leak.
If it can work on MIUI, it can probably work on Cyanogenmod.

Start off with trying to get Vibrant rils to work on JVP
You can't move on until you do that.
I am ready to donate if this can work.
I tried it on CM7 too. Same results atm. Connects but wifi calls end immediately.
I'm gonna look at the Exhibit 4G source and try using their kineto module instead.

I am running arayray revamped the original...a few days later arayray released the themed version with black status bar and other tweaks. Overall I like the themed version better but I have all of my data and settings intact on the original revamped theme and don't feel like wiping and flashing a new ROM. Is there any way to just have the look the themed version without having to flash the whole ROM? Thanks!

Just make a Nandroid backup and try it. He probably didn't change anything besides the png's. Since the updates were so close. I have not tried it though just saying. Most the time you can flash the updated rom with no wipe.

Yes I do know how to do that. I learned the hard way. It's pretty easy now though.
Quick question why haven't you went to CM7 yet? I am very close to releasing a blended flashable theme for CM7. It has a lot of goodies that come with it.

MIUI-ish
Hey everyone!! Trying my hand at making a ROM again. Keep in mind that I haven't done this for about 2 years haha. Hope you guys like what you see so far. I have only been working on this for the last 3 days. I'm going to be honest, my main reason for making this is because I'm tired of seeing people complain. I actually almost felt guilty and thinking I haven't contributed enough to this community yet so this is what I came up with. Just so everyone knows, this ROM is going to take a while still to complete and it will NEVER be an actual MIUI Build. This ROM will also never get released unless it get's the "go ahead" from mtmichaelson. I will explain why below.
What is MIUI-ish?
MIUI-ish will be a nearly COMPLETE overhaul of Gingervolt v2.0. There will be a lot of themeing done and a lot of apk replacements to try to get this ROM as close to MIUI as possible! Sometime soon, I will also be looking for testers. If you are chosen to test, MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE TESTING! Keep in mind, this is not just simply a theme, this is taking a ROM and completely overhauling it and changing virtually everything except maybe some of the apks, and the kernel. I'm attaching some screenshots of what it SHOULD look like when completed. I look forward to releasing this as soon as possible for you guys. Once Mt gives me the ok, I will start on it again.

It would be great if you could add the "CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TCPMSS" in the Check /proc/config.gz part of the kernel for more consistent MSS clamping on WIFI tether as per this forum http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/issues/detail?id=1368
I had to lower the MTU to a final 1410 on my W7 laptop & W7 tower to get consistent connections.

This is 99.99% the work of Hashcode, dhacker29, and epinter over on the DROID RAZR HD section of XDA and in other forums.
As some of you may already know, the Atrix HD can run the RAZR HD firmware quite well, with the except of Wi-Fi. Well, since I managed to finally fix that and streamline the process, I have working WiFi on my Atrix HD running the latest CM10 Unofficial (BETA) for the DROID RAZR HD. This is not something I intend to maintain or keep up to date myself, but its easy enough to make Wi-Fi work. I will be making a guide when I get some time so any of the RAZR HD Rom's should be an easy fix away. Or maybe even a flashable to put on top, haven't decided yet.
Anyway, here is the original thread.
I'm not gonna keep track of buds or maintain as I said, just sharing what I've done and methods to do it yourself.
Please give your thanks to Hashcode, dhacker29, and epinter for their hard work on this that makes it even possible. Those guys deserve it.

Yeah I was stuck on "Activating." The 4 corners trick works though.
Had no problems getting passed the welcome screen. Only thing I noticed that was buggy is the camera not working and the app drawer is laggy. Other than that, it seemed quite nice. Should've tried a different launcher. Might be just been trebuchet that had the laggy drawer.

And what about working camera? As far as I understand - camera and camcorder does not work, right?
What about front camera? Can it be used for SKYPEing??
Camera doesn't work for that. Most likely a driver issue which I will look into tomorrow as my laptop is dead and I'm traveling. Data is likely a modem issue which I will also look at tomorrow. Does anyone get failed SMS/MMS? I'm guessing its due to the modem as well. I can make calls fine though. After I try to make this stable I will move on to CM10.1 and start building from source.

Hey everyone, I am curious if this could be ported to our phone from the HTC Evo LTE for those of you who have devices already, unlocked/rooted, could you check into this?
This was a great tool for being able to update your PRL on your phone to one of the corporate ones that allows roaming on Verizon with 3G as opposed to 1X. Not sure if it would require modification or if it should work as is.
I used this since where I currently work my commute takes me through a few dead zones and it allows me to keep 3G connection since Sprint doesn't have complete coverage out by my office.

Would be nice to have the Roam Only feature loaded into a rom as well. One of the things I loved about MeanBean on my EVO LTE.

Roam control v1.4 does work, this was the last version that I remember working at all, it worked on my epic, nexus, 3d, and one. You might be able to find the apk floating around somewhere.

It is still partially a WIP but most everything works I think the only real thing not working is the sense usb storage app but UMS is there..... I forgot to say I also added beats tweaks, sqlite tweaks and other speed tweaks
Might try this. I got a third incredible from a friend so I got another play device lol
Let me know how this runs

There's no phone launcher it seems ... Have reflashed , cleared cache , any suggestion?
Edit: titanium shows its there, its just not on the home screen or in the drawer . using rocket dial .
Can be pretty laggy when returning to home screen from an app but seems pretty smooth over all .

It ran pretty well, but I didn't try it long enough.

The phone app thing is weird .. It was also noticed on the original port ... I think it may have to do with permissions

I will look .... I bet it has to do with perms not being aloud to the app to use the mic

I found the problem it is looking for a headset to use instead of the built in mic ... Now to see if i can find a fix

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the bcmdhd.ko could be the culprit
ICS roms were still using bcm4329.ko and fm radio and bluetooth seem to need that module

I will check but I think that it shouldn't matter because on the phone that the original port was from it worked and they used bcmdhd.ko when I looked at the logcat beatsaudio was strangely going off right when I tried using the mic so I think it may be the main culprit

just doing some research and it looks like audio.primary.qsd8k.so may be the cause of the mic not working for google search and other apps
From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25527860&postcount=1240
◦ROM: NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.0.zip (MD5sum: C63D317C72F05FC9AF7DC90931170386) (No more mirror please.)
◦This ROM works for MAGLDR and cLK at the same time.
◦Notice: Please flash audio.primary.qsd8k.so_update.zip after flashing this ROM to fix some audio issues caused by Voice search, Skype, and so on.
I have been working on this allot lately .. I will see what that does .. My internet was down last week
