As I have been searching around on here for a while now it may seem my Tab has bricked. To make a story short, my tab kept freezing and restarting to the point it would stay on the Samsung screen and just restart over and over again.
Previous cures have been to just wipe it and install the stock firmware but after a while it will happen again. Well now while going through the process again it basically froze in the middle of flashing and lost connection to the computer.
Now I get this on my screen. Does it mean its bricked? I can't even get to the Down Load Screen at all. Can it still be flashed? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Oh ok. So this would be considered a service screen then. So I am not totally effed in other words? Sorry if this was a noob question that has been answered already.
Its strange though because I followed that guide to the "T" and it would still hang and give me the error screen as I have searched ( the cant find the BIN file error as well ). Ok then I will keep trying. I believe I read a post about loading it several different ways. I have never seen this screen before. Thanks again and sorry for a noob post.
This screen means you are still in download mode. Flash away!
Oh ok. Thank you both for the help. Thought I was screwed.

If you get it working, I have a Viewsonic G-Tab if you want to trade!
Ooooo I will for sure get it going!!!!
What model do you have a GSM or CDMA?
Soft bricks may still be flash using Odin or heimdall but make sure that the rom not the locked version (zImage, boot.bin, sbl.bin).
odin use if you want to repartition.
I have the original files from the SPH-P100 gtab CDMA version which I get with a roto-backup method
It's a Sprint Tab. Every time I try it, it just wont let me. ODIN keeps failing and the other method keeps telling me it can't find the BIN file. Frustrating me.......
I tried both methods that I have off hand and it just wont do it. I am starting to think its an issue with my computer but it detects the tab though when in ODIN or the other non-ODIN way which I find strange. I have flashed it before with no problems but this just started to happen now.
k0sh, I just noticed your thread you have going and noticed #34 ([GUIDE] Sprint sph p100 stock firmware RECEOVERY: last resort.) This may be my last resort. Will give it a try when I get home.

I totally agree. Thats where I am trying to get LOL.
Is there a dbdata file for your rom? For other roms, when you don't flash that file you get a bootloop. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Are you talking about when it just reboots over and over again in the Samsung screen because that is what mine would do. And yes this tar I got has a dbdata file.
Well I am relieved! Ok I read over the Heimdall and did everything as the thread stated. It still told me it failed right off. So being the persistent noob I am I went ahead and took the tar file from the "No Modem" Stock tar file and used ODIN one more time. To my surprise it began to take it in. Crossed both finger and it finished with a PASS! I tried holding the Vol Down and the Power Button and I now have my Download Screen back! Turned it off and I tried turning it back on and bam! Got the Samsung Screen back on. I now have my Tab back! Currently charging again. Going to install all the Stuff I had on it before.
Happy to say Brick aborted! One more Tab out and about again.

After taking a quick peek at the video, I noticed you already had the phone connected when you opened Odin. I'm guessing you've probably already tried this to get Odin to see the phone, but in case you haven't, restart the computer with the phone disconnected. Put the phone in download mode with the Jig, but don't connect it. Start up Odin, and then connect the phone.
That may also tie into the issues you're having with Heimdall. I can't guarantee it, but it's at least worth a shot if you haven't done that already.
Also, try unhooking all other USB devices from the computer. It may not matter, but having fewer USB things for the controller to look at may make a difference. And, as always, try different ports, rebooting if necessary.

Sorry, but could you clarify a little bit where you're receiving the partition error message? Is your phone, Odin, Heimdall, or something else giving you that message? When is the message occurring? What is the exact message?
On a side note, in another thread, someone mentioned that the drivers for Heimdall and Odin seem to be mutually exclusive. If you want to use one or the other, it sounds like you'll have to uninstall the one you're not using.
it was heimdall one-click and im just trying to flash 2.3.4 and it says partition error

Ok. What you may want to try is to go here and download the full Heimdall 1.3.0 package. Since it looks like Heimdall is working to communicate with your phone, my guess is that you'll need to use the Heimdall front end and tell it to repartition your device (or whatever heimdall's equivalent of that is). Once you have that, you'll need to find a package that works with Heimdall to put UCKH3 on your device.
That being said, I've also seen that Heimdall currently may be having some issue with doing repartitioning. If so, you may need to head back to Odin land (with drivers) and grab UCKF1 to flash, with the repartition checked in full Odin 1.x. I'm linking to that specific UCKF1 package because it's stock, and has no bootloaders to possibly cause further issues. You can try the one-click version first, and if that doesn't work, grab full Odin and the 3-file package.
I just wanna say i love you if finally downloading if i could tell me how to repay you you have maid me one of the happiest peoples every
Glad to hear it's working. I'm just happy to give back.
hi guys, I need your help, I have a lg optimus black, and installed the 2.3.4 version of the android official v20n, and did not like because I still had no way to root, so I wanted to return to the android 2.2, before returning did a factory reset, so that when the phone restarted he only stayed on the screen of lg, i removed the battery and put back, the phone rang often, but now, all life that I hang up and call him again he is on the screen of LG, then I have to remove the battery, wait a while, and there again put the phone connects normally, but I'm worried, because all this started after I did a factory reset, help me please.
Thanks in advance.
Now my phone does not pass the screen of lg or removing the battery, help me!
Well, it is very important to factory reset after you downgrade. Use search, everybody recommends it.

So do you get to the screens where it says software Update or so? If you get there, I would try to do the trick at another PC, since it doesnt seems to work on all operating systems. Mine e.g. with win XP wouldnt wanna do it once, but with Win 7 64 bit I was able to do it.
Can you give us a screen, where we can see ur screen when connected to USB while holding Vol UP button?
And not only HIT the vol UP button, but hold it, until the software update screen comes up. Otherwise it wont get there
Man is and my windows 7 64 bit, I've tried all processes.

I do not know what else to do anything more than right.
Anybody from your country here? Who can try to fix it for u? If not, you can also send it to me, just write a message... or give it back to lg support center

Could you upload it in better resolution (higher quality), since I cant read anything at all... And pls discribe whats written there in red and other important messages in spanish (at least I think it is ) since my spanish also aint the best/ I never spoke it
And btw, its normal that it gets stuck at 4%, just try again, wait till phone reboots and enjoy otherwise you know what to do

Hi davifs, the smartfash tool should have solved your problem.
Today I made the V20N to V10 even with factory reset it boot looped.
With SmartFlash problem solved.
Give us more info.
Greetings!
I've spent the past 5 or so hours trying to figure this out, and through much searching on various different forums, I'm entirely stumped. For starters, my 8.9 tablet (GT-7310, 16 GB Wi-Fi) has been on Honeycomb 3.0 since I've gotten it. Today, I had the bright idea of actually taking the plunge into an upgrade and join everyone else in the 4.0+ world. First, it prompted me to upgrade to 3.2 - this went quite smoothly, it was only a 20 MB or so download via Wi-Fi. It booted up, no problem. Then, it prompted me for a second upgrade, which was quite large, in the 300+ MB range. I downloaded this, rebooted, and now my Galaxy Tab won't progress beyond the boot screen. It was like this for hours. Tried a factory reset/cache wipe and I still have the same problem.
So, it appears that my tablet may have tricked me into assisting its suicide. What's more, I can't connect it to my PC because it won't recognize it, and the MTP USB driver always fails. For that problem I've tried everything from editing reg keys to renaming system files to test it (I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) Nothing. This thing is a brick, and I'm starting to have an epiphany that I may have made a grave mistake. Is this salvageable at all? All I wanted was to get this thing on at least ICS. Is it possible to somehow get the files needed on my tablet via flash drive and install it that way? Where would I go about getting such files needed?
I apologize for spilling all of this, but I guess its tough to swallow a fleeting $400 spent. I eagerly await any sort of response or help, thank you in advance!
If out boots at all it's salvageable. Not have the pc recognize it though could be a problem. Have you tired odin? See if odin will recognize it and if so flash the stock ics firmware. You can get it at sammobile.com. you'll download a zip file and extract the.tar.md5 file from it using 7-zip.

Well, I'm a bit relieved that Odin does in fact recognize the device, but every time I connect it, the device driver (MTP) won't successfully install, so Kies won't recognize it at all (though from what I gather on this forum, Kies is kind of an incompatible waste of time) I went to that site but couldn't find firmware for my model tablet (GT-P7310, United States) but found several for other countries. What steps do I take next?

Edit, that doesn't look like its gong to work either. Is it an att device?

It's not an AT&T device, it's a wireless tablet, from the first run of 8.9 tabs. It came stocked with Honeycomb 3.0 originally. The model number on the back of the device is GT-P310MA, FFC ID: A3LGTP7310.
Also, I gave Odin a go. While it recognized the device, it kept failing when I tried to use the PIT file.
This is the screen I've been stuck on for hours, the good news is that I can hold down left and power and go into that mode, but it doesn't do much of anything.

Nothing good comes with messing with a pit file. I'd download the UK stock firmware for the 7310 and flash that in PDA In Odin. Only have auto-reboot checked. Don't know for sure if it'll work and you're on your own on this.

I didn't mess with the pit file, only followed instructions based on a tutorial I found in the forum. It's in the same shape as it was before. I did your suggestion in Odin however, and this is what I'm working with:
I don't think my PC is reading the tablet properly, but really I have no idea.
Keep trying it. I've had to do it multiple times and for whatever reason it finally worked.

Hi all,
I am on AT&T ICS stock rom. Is there any solution to fix the random reboot issue? It is a real pain when you pick up the phone and find it is rebooting...
The phone will randomly reboot. It is totally random, it may happen 3 times a day or 1 time a week, it may happen when you are using it or in your pocket, and I can tell when I see a system message coming up: your phone is recovered from an error. I am really frustrated...
I searched on the forum but found no clue to fix it... Please help!
PS: I flashed CM10 and the in call volume issue bothers me. It is a perfect rom otherwise.
Thanks!

I think it might not be the apps.
One extreme case, right after I flashed the RUU rom, I found the signal is a little poor so I turned on airplane mode and then off, once I did that, the phone rebooted... (no any app installed)

You can try flash ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631499 or here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585373.
If your problem doesn't solve please check your hardware. I think you have trouble with your hardware.
The at&t stock rom is trash. So many issues. I flashed albinoman's cm 10.1 rom and have never looked back. I just use the speakerphone and put it against my ear backwards if I can't hear during a call. I'd rather do that then deal with the constant freezes and reboots (with 5-10 minute reboot time).

Why not try the Bell Canada RUU ? Are you S-Off ? You may have to be to flash the radio firmware, but if you're super-cid then the phone should accept a ROM from any carrier. See the attached instructions re: super-cid.
Bell has a few advantages right out of the box: tethering works, so does wifi hotspot.
You can try flashing it with super-cid but S-ON and see if it errors out. The AT&T radio should work just fine with the Bell firmware, unless someone can advise otherwise.
Rather than saying "4G", it will show "LTE" and there's some Bell bloatware installed which can safely be removed after you root again.

Rather than saying "4G", it will show "LTE" and there's some Bell bloatware installed which can safely be removed after you root again.

Spaz... Your PDF talks about clockworkmod... A vivid nono...

I've done the process with WCX already installed.
Just start from Step 4: Write Super CID if you already have a recovery installed. As mentioned in the post above, CWM does not play nice with the Vivid/Raider.
The .pdf is just a file I created from the thread here on XDA (search is down again) which I cannot locate. I am not the author of the post.
Also to note: The Bell RUU is ICS (official) and does not have the call drop issue that seems to plague the CM roms, but it is not as striking as the CM roms either.
I received my phone today (and it's gorgeous) and there was an update straight out of the box. The only way I found to install it is by first downloading it then power the phone down. Then power it back on by holding the volume up and power buttons at the same time. You'll boot into the recovery mode and select update from SD card and you'll see the zip file there select using the power button and stroll using the volume keys. The update is a little slow but it does improve the overall speed of the phone from my perspective too new to truly tell of course

Never had to do all that with mine. It prompted me to download the update and then when done i could install now or later.

My phone did all of that but would not complete the update and kept giving me an error message so that's what I had to do to get it to work.
don't put the SIM card in and you'll have no issues. just boot the phone and it'll prompt for wifi, skip that, then it'll ask to add 'Google' account, skip that and then it'll ask for first name and last name; which is optional too.
i skipped everything and was able to be logged in the phone. so it didn't do an auto update because there was no network connectivity.
anyone know what was new from the update?
Just got an update too, when it rebooted to apply update, it went to recovery saying ERROR.
Such fail. I'll flash it manually like OP. Thanks.
Edit: What folder is it in? I don't see it anywhere.
Decided to try Update normally again and it worked.
I tried at least five times myself and kept getting the error message. I'm glad you got it to update for you.

Did you have it plugged in to your computer? I had it plugged in to my PC and when it first rebooted I heard my PC make some USB detecting noises and for some reason my mouse died when it did that.
I unplugged it and tried the update again and it worked. Might be coincidence, might not be /shrug.
Update failed on me too. Said unpack failure or something similar. So I just redownloaded and then it went through fine. Hadn't put Sim card in yet and was not plugged into computer.
First time ever for an update to fail on one of my phones and I've been at this for awhile.
Blu has something amiss on their end.
But must say for 99.00 I'm impressed

Mine was fine. Put in sim and setup. Updated went fine and done. No issue
Quick heads up for some of you guys...... My update was failing for the most part. Until I decided to take out the microsd card from my phone.
Once I removed the SD card I checked for an update again and voila it worked flawlessly. I'm not sure what the issue was/is. I can only assume that it has to do with not being able to store properly.
If the same issue has happened to you, you can also try to see if checking "install from SD" will work. That is something I didn't think of before removing the card.
Again simply remove the card and give it another go.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone have a copy of the Update file OR the Stock Rom file for the Blu Vivo XL or know where to get it?
I'd like to have one in case I brick my phone while playing with it. I can use the SP Flash Tool to flash the phone back to stock. I stupidly didn't save the update file when the phone updated.
Thanks.
Please, for some reason I softbrick my phone, it is in the bootloop now. I need the update.zip file if someone is willling to help. Million thanks.

"for some reason"??? You mean you tried to root it and then bricked it? That would make more sense. Good luck.

Yep, I did try to root. But just softbrick. Still able to get into the OEM recovery / fastboot section. Just need ROM / firmware if available.
