Games/Apps that work well with a wiimote/classic controller. - Dell Streak 7

Hey all just thought a thread would be good for mentioning games that can work with alternate inputs. As we know the emulators work fine with it after you map them better. (Sucks that default mapping isnt calibrated right)
Also learned I could control the home screen and so of my DS7 using the remote. Which helps when you have it docked and on the big screen to load the emulator, game and go.
So what other games work well with the wiimote? Wish Gunbros and Dungeon Defenders worked lol.

Which emulator are you using, and does it work with the analogue input for the classic controller?

All of yongzh works after you do the other settings to enable inputs. Then you may have to map some of the buttons.

emulators that work for the HTC MAGIC

the other day i paid for and downloaded the nes emulator, i was playing around with it and realised that i couldnt play games really as i dont have a keyboard like the G1.
also with this problem, when playing cestos i cant talk as im playing from my HTC MAGIC and have no keyboard. do we no of any one that is going to be fixing these problems
thank you in advance
Hello,
From my experience (which is some what limited mind you, haha) ScummVM works very well with the HTC Magic. I have a Vodafone HTC Magic (black) and had Broken Sword 1 running perfectly. Obviously most other games will not work as well given the lack of hardware keyboard - but point and click adventure games are no problems with the touch screen/trackball! Also, the ScummVM app is free from the Market last time I checked.
Hope this helps!
It seems the magic requires a vitual keyboard. Also, as the magic is capacitive, that would mean that it's essentially multi touch capable (even if google haven't capitalized on it yet), so theoretically, it should be possible to get that virtual keyboard running with multiple buttons pressed at the same time. As far as I can see, the Sapphire(magic) is a rather new phone, so these things just take a little time to come from the developers.
Caid.

Yeah, it works. But some point and click, like broken sword 2, monkey island 3, need a right mouse click (inventory) to continue playing. Also no buttons to save the game.
So ScummVM is good, but with some games not. I hope they fix this soon.
There are a couple of experimental multi touch apps appearing in the market for use on rooted phones running certain firmwares. Hopefully we'll start seeing this being implemented into emulators soon. I'd be more than willing to pay £5 for a decent Megadrive emulator with multitouch control.
You never know, maybe we'll get official multi touch in Donut... or Eclair... maybe Flan? Please?!
There is a game boy/game boy colour app called kidd GBC. You have to pay for it but it uses an on screen keyboard (well an a and a b button that you press on screen) and you use the trackerball on the phone to move about. It works quite well and is one of the first emulators i've seen that has a basic on screen keypad implemented.
Finding games isn't easy tho.
The guys over at http://www.supergnes.com/index.php are working on the bomb snes emulater that will supposedly eventually support touchscree/multi-touch/trackball.
Theres a slew of myTouch 3G users coming down the pike, lets hope they start getting support.
ggNES is the BOSS! it allows u to set onscreen arrows and buttons, but i use volume up down for a b and the screen for the arrows cuz without multi touch its hard to put both on the screen.... hopefully donut should fix that!
Been using Nesoid for NES games and Gensoid for Megadrive games, both have on screen D-pads and you can map the buttons to correspond to A/B etc..
Works really well, really like it, tons and tons of roms out there. Been playing Altered Beast on the megadrive emulator and Mario and Zelda on the Nes one!

App suggestion - Use android phone as gamepad

Another suggestion if that's ok?
I had remembered that with the IOS vers. of the SNES emulator, that you could use you're iPod touch or iPhone as the controller.
Anyone know of any way to do that with an android phone? ie: use my android phone as a bluetooth gamepad to play emulators with.
I have searched google the past few days and have only seen the Wiimote apk. While that does work, it just seems more convenient to have a phone that is already with you able to do it, that and it only has a limited number of buttons.
Anyone else share the interest? Thanks! =)
+1 to this
I would definitely be interested in this as well, using your phone as the remote would be killer and extremely convenient!
That would be pretty cool. I hope someone develops something.
Yeah it would.
one up for this!
does a project like this exist (even under development) ? i just googled for an hour but i could not find anything useful.
Something that maps wifi signals from my phone to key press on my pc would be great to use with emulators
//edit
hehe... just after posting i found something
http://code.google.com/p/agamepad/
sadly its not under active development
oh and could somebody please move this thread to a more general android section? i just found it via google and then realized its in the xoom forums (where it does not belong imo)
This would be really cool.
Neat idea to contribute: Make it skinnable. So, you could maybe lay it out like the controller of whatever you're playing. (When using Nesoid, you could use an NES controller skin, when using Snesoid, you could use an SNES controller skin, etc.)
I'm more interested in using my phone as a bluetooth keyboard, but I suppose that could be part of it.
I have been looking for an app that will make my android phone into a remote control. I want to have my Xoom connected to my tv and use my phone to control the various media players that I use..
about android phone into gamepad/ keyboard
Hi, do have any news about this apps now? THANKS
try this
i use unified remote<full version> on a daily basis. it is my portable blue-tooth keyboard, media remote, mouse, etc... i even use it on my laptop. it comes with alot of preloaded remotes for various setups.i have never done it, but it does have a custom settings menu to make your own remote setup.. idk if this can control games, but as far as everything else, hellz yeah.
This is a great idea, skinnable would definitely be hot. Of course I got my PS3 controller working on my Xoom already....
I don't wanna root my device just to use my PS3 controller and I also dont have a OTG cable Im getting one in Nov though
well, i was looking for something like that as well. for weeks, but i found something great here at xda-developers its called "blueputdroid" https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid and its doing a great job even if the gamepad does not work this good .. but 4 example the psx4droid emulator made it possible to control via this app. its just need to be configured correctly.
oh thanks`, But "blueputdroid" is not suppot for my darky v10.2 Rom _ _!! and i also find some as similar as it " droidmote client" but it's support through WIFI only...
you can use DroidMote Server / Client in the android market.
look this video and search for other:

I'm not a great player and I am very tired after having developed a lot but this is a small example of the new features:

Hi mate ...
Bt Controller does the job beautifully ... free in the market

Wii remote working... non-emulator games?

So I got the Wii remote working with various emulators on CM7, and it's nothing short of awesome.
Anyone know of any market place games that use physical keyboard input? Was wondering if you could map it to the Wii controller. Would be nice to have some updated graphics. Thanks.

Controllers for SNES/N64/NES/PSX?

So can you hook up the Wiimote/classic wii controller to the gTab and use it on the emulators? I love the games but I think a controller would help alot!
I'm not sure of the current emulators support Bluetooth connectivity. Its also interesting to mention that there are USB SNES and NES controller's being sold online and at urban outfitters. I wonder if the tablet would be able to detect those.
You can use a Wii Mote with the Classic Controller Attachment.
If you don't like the idea of tethering to the Wii Mote, I've used the following with Success on my EVO 4g (haven't tested on GTablet yet, but should work fine):
http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/Wii-Wireless-Retro-Controller__EF000622.aspx
Tested wiimote works find with free app from market... just search for it
do you need tools to use the wiimote? Is there any lag
Works Solidly, No lag. Setup is very straightforward, set the Key mappings in each of the Emulators, as well as enable 'Use Input Method' under Other settings, enjoy

Sony Ericson XPERIA PLAY gamepad?

Just asking if there were a way we could use the keyboard as a gamepad similar to the xperia play's one? It could be great tu be able to use the keyboard to play games, and very much more user-friendly.
Thanks
Well in most emulators on the market, you can map the keys to controller buttons. I use Gameboy A.D. from the market and it's great with the D3 keyboard.

Sixaxis controller from market and a ps3 controller ftw.
Yeah, but for other games (native games for android) that's not possible. I don't have a PS3, i'm playing on a XBOX 360.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA
This is not what you are looking for, but this is great for emulators and such. http://www.game-gripper.com/category_s/49.htm

With native games I just use sixaxis in "touch" mode and setup the profile to match the button overlay in the game. The controllers keypresses emulate touch events so it works 100% with anything that allows touchscreen or key(hardware button) input. You can have the controller emulate a touchscreen, keyboard and/or mouse so... a 20$ ps3 controller(any pawn shop has them used etc, just make sure it's bluetooth and not the 2.4ghz with a dongle) and d3 car mount screwed to it > gamegripper imo. Trying to upload you a screenshot of the profile setup, once you see that you'll know for sure it works with anything that runs on droid, including the home app/any app/game but its being stuborn, I'll get it up in a bit.
Edit: Uploaded that screenshot of the profile setup with my fpse profile loaded. The buttons aren't shown when playing a game or anything, only time you see where the button taps are position on the screen is when making/editing profiles so nothing interferes. sorry it took so long, used a friends laptop just to get them up lol. You'll notice I have the analog buttons overtop of the digital pad so I can use either/switch during gameplay etc
