If your looking for a sim card unlock then you have to buy a code for about 20$ you just type it in and the phone will accept any sim card . But if you want to make sure there is no trace then phone was locked you should flash HTC s generic WWE ginger bread Rom that way no carrier bloat ware is there

Sony Xperia Play- Stock, debloated, rooted, s-off, sim locked
Past Phones-

You don't need a sim or network unlock for straight talk...just need the straight talk "att compatible" sim
And seeing as its no longer working with the att sim that's pointing to hardware issues...you might've damaged the sim connector pins when removing/inserting the sim cards

I might need to change service providers soon because Koodo is just sucking right now. As such, my phone needs to be unlocked. I would be paying Koodo for the service so that I don't have to run the risk of bricking my S5830D (can you brick your phone attempting to unlock it?). However, my little Ace is running CM9.1 RC4.1 by Wayland_ACE.
I don't know the SIM unlocking procedure and I was wondering if I would need to flash back Koodo's Stock ROM (where can I get that by the way?) and unroot it to have it unlocked.
I also heard of unlock codes around these forums and was wondering what they were, does Koodo just give me a code that I enter somewhere to SIM unlock? Please give me any information that you can on this matter.
Koodo charges $50 to unlock the SIM. Is there a safe and simpler less expensive method to unlock the SIM?
Thanks in advance.
Did you ever manage to get ur ace unlocked?

Haha ok. I borrowed the gf's sim when i did mine. It feels good to have the freedom to use any network, especially when you own the phone. :sly:

So the issue I'm having is I can't SIM unlock my One... I'm running ARHD 20.2 with matching firmware. I'm on rogers and have tried two different companies (online) got the same unlock code from both and I'm unable to unlock using a telus SIM card.... any thoughts??

I should have probably mentioned I'm also s-off cid 11111111

at least change the Cid to Rogers. if that doesn't work install venom rom, that's how I did it. if all fails, go to full stock. s-off should be fine though..

I have read many posts from owners trying to get SIM unlock. Most websites have sold SIM unlock codes that failed to unlock SIM on HTC One
I would suggest contacting the carrier the phone is locked to, Rogers in your case.
In the UK where I live, phone carrier will supply a SIM unlock code for a nominal fee approximately £15 ($24)

I ended up changing my cid back to ROGER001 and flashing a stock Rom. The code I was provided ended up being the same code rogers gave me. It worked after that. Flashed my ARHD backup now I'm good to go

To sim-unlock the phone you need to purchase an unlock code. (5-15$)
Or if the phone is s-off you can sim-unlock it yourself using the SIEEMPI method (Free)
Sunshine s-off also have an experimental sim-unlock function (sunshine cost 25$)
If by "standard rom" you mean an unbranded rom, you will probably need s-off to convert that orange branded phone to an international unbraded rom. You could also flash custom roms.
