Name: Speed Searcher
DESCRIPTION:
Speed Searcher significantly cuts down the time it takes to search the web. With an efficient shortcut method, you can be searching Google, YouTube, Wikipedia (and others) in just a few taps.
Want to search Wikipedia quickly? Instead of opening up Internet Explorer, typing www.wikipedia.org, waiting for the page to load and then searching, simply fire up Speed Searcher and type ‘w’ followed by your query. Easy – and fast!
Speed Searcher also does more. The ‘Quick Query’ section allows you to increase your productivity by retrieving information in just a few short taps. For example, want to know the time anywhere in the world? Simply enter the name of a place and Speed Searcher will show you the time. Other ‘Quick Queries’ include the ability to convert from one unit to another, a dictionary and the current weather anywhere in the world.
Speed Searcher is a great time saving app.By downloading now, you can get involved and suggest features you’d like to see in future versions.

Like the app I prefer typing the search term and tapping the search engine. This seems more intuitive than typing a "g" or "yt" before the search term. With that in mind, it might be more attractive to have icons for the various search engines, rather than the plain text. Is it possible to return the results within the app, rather than open an external webpage?
It might be more convenient to have the quick search available as a flick to the side.
I'm not loving the icon. Seems a little 90's-ish, not very metro.
Nice app though. I pinned it. Thanks for posting here in xda. Looking forward to any improvements or updates.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, glad you like it
I like the icons idea and will consider putting in an update. Returning results within the app would be a bit tricky because of the API limits some sites have. However, if you mean getting the results in an embedded browser like that in the 'Quick Query' section, then that's possible. I'm thinking of implementing that in the 'pro' version as an option.
I'll look into having the 'quick query' section being reached via a flick instead of the button. I wasn't sure if people would want a 'pivot' like aspect (since the 'quick query' itself slides to a different pivot page with the answer), but I'm up for toying around with the idea.
The icon was a bit of a last minute thing
Thanks again, this is awesome feedback. The pro version is still in early dev, so I'm taking all of this into account.
Yeah, embedded browser for the results, maybe with an option to open externally. Maybe three pivots, the engine search page, your quick query page, and the results page?

The reason I would prefer the embedded browser is then I can quickly look at what google brings back, pivot over and click Bing and see what it gives me

That makes sense (and is certainly possible). Great idea

Name: Documents to go
Developer: DataViz
Version: 1.0.0.1

Review
This app is one of the few working document readers. It reads Microsoft Word 97-2008 and Microsoft Excel 97-2008. With €14.40 it is one of the most expensive apps available in the Market. Due to its price my expectations were high.
Startup
The app boots pretty fast. After starting you will get to see this starting screen.
I find the 3 buttons on the bottom quite frustrating, I never use them and they take up a LOT of space and nearly serve the same purpose: promoting the developer. If this was a free app I’d have peace with it but since I paid €14.40 for this I’d rather have those 3 buttons removed or reduced in size.
Word
Once you chose the Word button the app will show you 2 options, opening a word file or create a new one. On the bottom it will show your recently used documents, which is quite handy.
Opening word files is done pretty quick, depending on the size of course.
Features
There are loads of options in the editor. You can even set your name to appear in the “Author” information, choose the output format (2004 or 2008), set all text to capslock, insert page breaks, hyperlinks, comments, tables, zoom in and out and even add foot and header notes. This list isn’t even coming close to all features this app contains.
Typing isn’t very convenient because the on-screen keyboard takes up 40% of the screen. This of course only applies on the Magic.
Excel
The excel part of the software has the same heap of options that the word module has.
It supports function input and even has about 100 pre-defined functions! Wonderful!
The excel module can display rows 1-18 and collums A, B and C on one screen when your zoom is set to 100%. Zooming in and out is possible.
5 languages supported
English
French
German
Italian
Spanish
Conclusion
Being one of the most expensive apps in the market my expectations were high. Sadly the app didn’t satisfy at all points. One of the biggest lacks is PDF and PPT support. I know PDF is not an Office product, but the app is not called Microsoft Office To Go, but documents to go! I can imagine that opening PPT’s on an Android device requires a lot of processor and memory.
I find the price a bit too high for an app with quite some advertising and no PDF support.
The things that it does support are done exceptionally good with a lot of options available.
Positive
+ Word and Excel 2008 support
+ Loads of options
+ Fast
+ Easy to use UI
Negative
- Somewhat expensive
- No PDF support
- Annoying 3 buttons on the start
My rating
2009 - Draxter
I bought it and i've to say is a great shell. It' works fine, it's fast, yes it's expensive but if you need to use it for work, it's not.
i am a HK magic user... how come i cannot download documents to go in "market", it's not even there when i search for it
I don't think there are any non-free apps in the Market outside the USA. I hope they're working on it - It's probably some international laws and stuff I know nothing about.
Hi Guys,
sabHub has just gone live in the marketplace! As the name suggests it is a client that will interface with your sabnzbd+ install
Functionality at the moment includes:
-View Queue
-View History
-Add NZB via Newzbin ID
-Delete Individual Download
-Pause Individual Download
-Clear History
-Remove individual history items.
-Landscape view supported and shows more detailed information
It has a trial and costs €1.29 for the paid version however the only difference is the presence of a small ad on the 'Add NZB' page. So no time limitation or reduced functionality. However only paid up customers will get the Live Tile functionality when it is introduced (which will be very soon!).
Cheers,
Bean

just a Q... why have the refresh and the settings icons in the top left/right instead of following the rest of the apps by having it in the bar at the bottom where they belong?
@Gate Keeper A couple of reasons for this.
Firstly- The Microsoft UX Guidelines published say don't put a application bar on a panorama control which is what my UI is based around
Secondly- adding the application bar to the panorama control will reduce the usable space of the list which in portrait mode is pretty limited as it is.
Thirdly-There is a lot of dead space at the top of the panorama control that I wanted to make the most out of!
If you look at the eBay app, that's where I got the inspiration for the settings/refresh buttons- which I think in a panorama context work quite well.
no worries, just thought i'd ask, wasn't have a dig at you or your app, sorry if it sounded like that. and yes i have noticed it on the ebay app, just not with the corner overlays that's all.
Just installed and works great! Good job!
One thing though, the Get API code thing didn't just get the code, it also got a load of the HTML so didn't work. I'm using SabNZBD 0.5.3, not the latest version, maybe that caused a problem?

no i didnt take it that way at all! I'm still finding my feet with wp7 development. any feedback on UX design etc is most welcomed and always good to start a discussion on these things!
@adamwebb28- Thanks for the feedback I'll look into the issue. Obviously a html scraping issue. I'm not on the latest version either so I'll have to see what the HTML layout changes are or come up with a more robust way to scrape the api key that will work across versions.
Hi There, I just purchased the Non-Ad version. Excellent stuff. any Idea when we'll be able to use other repositories like NzbMatrix . Any Idea how i'd get a newsbin ID? Cheers
@smoothbond thanks for supporting the app!
My eventual goal is to have a full newzbin/nzbmatrix search tool for WP7, whether this is in the form of a separate app or integrated into sabHub i'm not sure yet.
Hi,
Is it possible to make a "New Folder" in WP7? Just for example: to put all games in a one folder?
Not at the moment.
App Folders to WP7? Not any time soon.

"We've been tipped off about an interesting bit of polling going on at the monsmartphone.net (they're a lot like us, but French!) regarding something that all Windows users are all too familiar with. Folders!
The question raised, "Would you like to be able to categorize your applications?", has caught some attention from their more organized readers. Users who've downloaded a lot of Apps were quick to remark that they don't like having to scroll so much to find the ones at the bottom of the pile.
Pinning the most frequently used apps to the Start Menu solves the problem easily but not at all if you're the kind of person to keep a lot of frequent contacts up there. Even more so if you're the type to collect applications - the Markteplace reached 7,000 apps not too long ago and like we said, there's no end in sight. The reasoning is there for some users, certainly. Other users, like myself, don't see the need. Not yet anyway.
Monsmartphone.net's writer, Detsch, had apparently submitted this quandary to Microsoft and from what we've gathered from throwing their site through the make-it-english machine (No, not just google translate! I made a real-live French person read it to me in English!) was that Microsoft does not currently think that this functionality is a priority in the evolution of their OS.
Read more after the break.
Whether or not there was actual scientific research done to back it up or if any charts were involved is unclear but they claim that they average number of apps used by the average user just doesn't require such a poll-worthy, why-don't-we-have-this, functionality. Interesting tidbits from the commentors brought up the option of it. Reminds us a little of Microsoft's position on screen captures.
If folders were eventually included in an update they would prefer it as an option - not a mandate that they had to follow through with. Some presumptions also include folder use for contacts following the lines of Work contacts, Pals, Bowling Team, and things like that. This followed suit with sms and the Games Hub as well with sorted genres.
The most interesting concept of note was not if people would like folders or not but the ability to categorize their apps. Meaning, apps could be categorized and sorted but not necessarily by using folders.
What if they were sorted into specific hubs that opened an additional app listing? That piqued my interest and got me thinking of a better question. If we had the ability to sort or categorize or filter our apps - how would you like it done and how would it work with the Metro UI?"

Comx Reader version 1.2 has been released.
Comx Reader is your best choice if you like reading comics. Create your comics collection on your phone and read them in mobility. Comx Reader handles comics in CBR, CBZ and Zip format. Put the comics files on your SkyDrive space and download them directly in your collection. Then organize the file inside folders, put your preferred ones in a dedicated space.
Comx Reader is available in 3 language: English, Italian, Spanish (translated by humans, not by automatic translators!), it doesn't have limitations on number of comics you can keep in collection, it supports natively SkyDrive. It comes in two versions: a free version with ads, or if you prefer to not see ads, a paid version for just 0.99$ (or 0,99€). The paid version has a trial version also, that doesn't expire but shows ads (it's like the free version).

My friend has a WP7 phone and loves manga, I'll share this with him now. Good stuff!
I would like, if possible, to help in translation to other languages. I can translate from English to Brazilian Portuguese so you could be able to share it in brazilian market place.
I'd offer to do the German translations if you're interested. Contact me on PM if U like. Cool App! Thanks.

Sneaky

Ok, bought the application and it's pretty decent but some essential function are missing and it has many design problems. Here some suggestions for the author:
Missing function
Go to page - Last and first page are useful but most time you need to go to other pages
Scale factor (number & fit to page options) - it's stupid that the app resize every single page to the default value, in a comics reader a customization of this parameter is essential
Gesture - tap to show info, slide to change page, in a similar way to comix app.
Download in background - or at least under the lockscreen. Because it's very frustrating when the screen locks and you have to restart the download, even more if you are in 3g.
Log the errors - this app is overall stable (much more than comix), but i had 2 or 3 crashes. You need to print the error message so we can tell you the reason of the error.
Design issue
Title too big - if someone download your app from the store we can suppose he knows it's name. So why in the main menu the title of the app take 1/3 of the screen?! Make it smaller and use the Space better(see below).
SkyDrive menu inusable - it's a mess, font to big, label to short. In vertical orientation you can see 1, max 2 items. With the orrizzontal neither 1. Use the Space better.
progress bar during decompresion - when the download from SkyDrive ends the Phone freeze for 4-5 seconds. I suppose you are moving\decompressing the file. For a user is bad to see an app freezzed, so do that operation in background and put a progress bar
I don't give a feedback for this app, if have to do now it will be 2/5, but this app has great potential. So i want to wait to see if you can fix it.
WHAT IS FACADE?

Facade is a simple app that brings your social circles together under one platform!
Screenshots
WHY I NEED IT?
How many times your find yourself in a situation when you need to post same status update 4 times? or upload same picture 4 times? One for Facebook/ One for Twitter/ One for Sina Weibo (for Chinese users) / One for LinkedIn (Business related)
Sooner or later, two possible outcomes:
1. You spend your day updating your social life and the fun thing becomes painful
2. You give up one circle. say, twitter. And your high school friends on twitter complains.
With Facade, you can manage all your social status update with a simple click of button. You can simple tap on the icons to choose this message goes to which network (facebook/twitter update, or everything update).
You can also, pull all statuses update from all social circles into one place and view them, like them, retweet them or comment them.
Facade DOES NOT requires you install those apps like others do.
Facade DOES NOT separate your social updates like others do.
WHAT ARE KNOWN ISSUES
This is alpha built. Sorry about the rough edges:
1. The settings UI is pretty ugly. And please only enter numerical numbers in the options. (I know it is a simple fix and I expect to clear it tonight)
2. After commenting your facebook update, the texts are not cleared (so they stayed there) , nor there is a feedback message telling you the posting is successful or not
3. It takes about 30 seconds initially to have your status pulled from the social sites, which has no UI message to tell the users. The user may click reload button but nothing come out in first 30 seconds are they log into the social sites.
But it will populate in about 30 seconds - 45 seconds depending on network speed. I need to add interactive message to let user wait a bit.
4. the full picture is rendered too small. You can click to view the full picture but still, the default full picture in each status is too small.
WHAT FEATURES WILL BE ADDED?
New features and bug fixes are happening on a daily basis. Currently I am planning
> Add Facebook "Like" button
> Add fun Smileys to make user's posting experience much better.
> Add System wide sharing to Facade option so that you can share anything to
Facade (currently only pictures)
> Make the UI more fun and cool and usable.
> Make it more efficient , less power consuming.
WHAT DOES THE DEV NEED
1. your support! Simply be feedback to me is enough
2. your testing! Please, if you don't mind, whenever it crashes, please use Google's reporting to send me an email about the crash. No personal information is logged.
3. your feedback in general! New Features! Bug reports (either here or through google crash reporting)
