Good day Gentlemen,
I am in process of selling my HP TouchPad on ebay.
I am in need of some pre-sales help asap please....I am in the market for buying a tablet...original budget was to be £200 max until I came across the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which sells on Amazon for £330.
I nearly bought the tab 7.7 last night in time for my holiday in mid June...until I realised two stumbling blocks...
1) The Tab 7.7 has Honeycomb 3.2 which out of experience is horrendously "laggy" / buggy (especially with an overlay like Samsung's poor quality Touchwiz) and is certainly extremely sub-optimal for tablets - ICS is much better. I have heard the 7.7 is indeed laggy etc.
2) I have read that the Galaxy Nexus (or whatever it will be named) official "Google Tablet" is due for release in July....
Problem number 2 makes it a foolhardy idea to purchase a Tab 7.7 especially at the cost of it compared to £150-£200 on the Nexus if it is only 4 weeks away...though I really want a tablet to take on holiday mid June ideally.
So what I need to know if possible please, is :-
"Whether anyone knows if the Nexus tablet is due for UK release in July or whether I'd be better just buying a Samsung Tab 7.7 now & keeping it for a couple of years and forgetting about the Nexus (at least until W8 WOA tablets arrive lol)."
I really would like to see stock version of ICS Android 4.0 on my next tablet.
Your kind assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kind regards
hi
i'm planing to buy one of those...galaxy tab 7 or HTC flyer...
wts ur idea?which one is better?
thanks
i think the htc flyer is a very good device, but the galaxy tab is a complete device, well i mean you get something close to the flyer but with cellphone fonction and 3g, if you dont need them, you can have a verity of choices, from the new google nexus 7 to the second generation of galaxy tab, Toshiba 7 inch, and many more...
but gt P1000 is the ultimate tablette, in my opinion.
If I helped you, please press the thanks button
Hello guys..
A friend of mine just bought a Galaxy Tab 7.7 (it's not the 7 inches version... it's bigger). I saw its screen and it's absolutely gorgeous!!!
I don't have a Nexus 7, yet.... so, what do you guys have to say about its screen? Is it as good as Galaxy Tab 7.7's?
If not, can we callibrate it?
So Samsung announced its new tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to directly compete with iPad Mini.
As the name implies, it will have an 8 inch screen with a ppi of 189.
It has a 1.6 GHz quad core processor with 2 GB ram, and will be available in 32 & 64 GB variants.
The most interesting thing is that this tablet also has the ability to make phone calls. Yes. This 8 inch tablet is also a phone.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S4, little is known for certain. But it may be seen sporting an octa-core processor, 13 MP camera, and an LCD 3 screen since their AMOLED screen producing factory is facing problems. The rumours about flexible display are wrong.
Share your thoughts and rumours. I will keep updating OP.

Still disappointing that a one-inch bezel is the best any tablet maker can do.

Yes, but if a stylus is the only plus point, won't a buyer give some more more and just buy the note 2?
No.
Because the note 8.0 has calling capability!

I want the Note 8.0 so bad! I wish it was available now and samsung can have my money. I've been wanting a Gnote 10.1 but I HATE how bulky and heavy 10" tablets are. I had an Asus Transformer and then the almighty iPad 4, I returned both of them because I realized using them was more of a chore than a convenience and not a pleasant experience. I often would just pick up my phone instead because its so much more comfortable to hold something lighter. I ended up with a Nexus 7, but got annoyed with poor gaming performance and jumped on the iPad mini bandwagon. It's the best tablet..no the best piece of technology I've ever owned. I will never get rid of this thing. But I miss android too, and I want the S-pen to draw with and the Note 8 has the brilliant and light 8" form factor I'm in love with now that I have the iPad mini. I think the Gnote will be priced around $300 at least I hope, it'll quickly become the hottest android tablet IMO
Re: Thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0?
I do agree, but I can't see how anyone can be dissatisfied by the nexus 7's gaming capabilities.
I own one myself and it handles every game I throw at it, including games like the dark knight rises and NBA 2k13 both of which are over 1 GB. I'm excited for the galaxy note 8.0 myself, but the nexus 7 has the edge in terms of getting the latest software updates.

Well, that's a matter of opinion.
I love gaming on my nexus 7. Of course it isn't as good as a 10 inch tablet but it's almost negligible for me

Sorry to say bro, but there's no way you could buy it for 20k.
Unless you know the right people.
Only an Indian can understand 'jugaadh'
I have saved about 30k and still wondering if that'll be enough

Well for things like landscape web browsing, the Nexus 7 felt more like a phone the amount of useable area. its much bigger than a phone and shouldn't have such a thick bezel and The on screen Android keys take up a ridiculous amount of space at the bottom. Thats why I really like the concept of the Galaxy Notes because they don't put the keys on the screen they have the buttons. I'm not bashing the Nexus 7 there's just plenty they can improve on to give it the same overall size, but thinner bezel, bigger screen , and do something about those huge on screen buttons.
How it possible that Android M it's only coming to this devices
-Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos
- Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
- Samsung Galaxy ALPHA
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A
And our tablet that was announced on June 2014 isn't gonna get the M
Like WTF Samsung 1 year tablet and no more updates
Seems unlikely to be correct

That list is wrong or incomplete the Tab S2 is not even on it.
John.
Don't know where you got that list from, but it's far from correct.
Note 5 Duos, S6 Active, S5, Tab S and S2 and more should be listed.
And I'm wishing for Note 3, but unfortunately it's very unlikely.
I found the same list here.
http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entr...-get-Android-M-Updates-by-the-End-of-the-Year
John.
This is not an official list from Samsung, at this point Samsung doesn't even know when Android M final sources will be ready, not to mention it will take ages to integrate touchwiz and all its features.
One example is Samsung former flagship Note 4, which is still on a very buggy 5.0.1. (10 months after Google release date).
Looking at Samsung firmware release history, you may end up getting Android M by July 2016 (if you're lucky!).
I never trust anything out of Yourmobile. Where do they get their info? Sammobile is a better news source.
I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung doesn't update the Tab S to Marshmallow. The Galaxy Tab Pro (predecessor to the Tab S) came out in 2014 with KitKat 4.4 and later updated to 4.4.2. Lollipop was never released for it. I had a Tab Pro 8.4, which I install CM12 to get Lollipop.
I think: 40% will update, 100% not. But we have cm, fortunately...
Yep we will hopefully get a cm port

they did it last time to the predecessor Galaxy Tab 7.7. It was one hell of a device but being abandon big time by Samsung. They likely doing the same **** again. Its Samsung.
Where is the stupid Tab S2
The german AndroidPit.de wrote, Samsung has confirmed this list. [emoji17]
For Samsung smartphone is their first priority, as for tablet, it a one off, may be 1-2 update a year, then it's a new tablet on the market, and the others get obsolete and thrown to one side.
Those list are for initial devices. The galaxy s4 received lollipop before the note 4 and it wasn't on the so called list. So please stop arguing about something only Samsung will know. Also even if we don't get android 6.0, there will be other methods available as with all android devices.
How about 5.1 at least? Seems this device is neglected by Samsung. I'm having a slight buyers remorse for my Tab S 10.5. Slight...
Perhaps they'll be adding more devices as they start to roll out M updates. But if it happen that this tablet didn't make the cut, then I'm done with Samsung.
Slow down... I would be amazed if Samsung didn't update this tablet.
They still out there updating old ass phones S4, N2... Now they might not get M, but they need to upgrade anyways.
Samsung definably has their own timing when it comes to updating their gauntlet of tablets. In fact, when you look at their lineup of U.S. models, you can see their update history for their entire line of U.S. tablets are the same. With the exception of newly released tablets in the last three months, all of their other tablets still being sold are just on 5.0.2.
