Before you flame me, yes ive searched..
I dont want to go down the GSEN route (Too buggy) but I want to force one app and one app alone to run in landscape mode - and that is Remote Desktop Mobile.
Im not keen on running any utility in the background of my device (which eats memory) so am looking for a registry solution.
Can anyone help?
BUMP
Appreciate your help if possible
I know a simple way to do it.
You can create simple mortscript script for that, for example RunLandscape.mscr, in the script you have to code command Rotate 90 or 270 degrees, then command for run app from 1st param and after exiting application command for rotate 0. Now you can edit your shortcuts and point them to "yourpathtoscript\runlandscape.mscr" "\program files\totalcmd\totalcmd.exe" for example for totalcmd.
Hi - did you ever find a good solution to this, without needing to install any additional apps or such as intended?
Thank you for the mortscript idea - I'm looking to do the same and want to avoid installing any additional software if possible.
Thanks

Hey guys!
Is there any possibility to develop an application that sorts the Apps in the Programs menu?
I think there are many other people that love to have a easy solution for this!
If i had some experience to developing i wold try to do this but I have none
You can create 1-level folder tree directly in Windows/Start Menu/Programs and sort your apps there.
If you want to create some graphics effects, you can also try my Menu creation, that allows you to create as many folders as you wish with fully graphic skin, but unfortunately no touch support yet(I have it done primarily for SPs),arrows only.

Unfortunately it doesn't meet with popularity,so I stop to develop another versions. If someone want,I can describe anything about.
Does anyone know of a software that Prevents unauthorized software installations.
If anyone knows of such a tool or can create one, please let me know. I'm running a BlackBerry OS

If you feel your girlfriend is going to install spyware on your phone then I think you need to get a new girlfriend more then worry about what she might do to your phone. I hear were your coming from but I rarely leave my phone where others can gain access to it. As for the firewall program. I'll have to give it a look and see how much of a hog it is. It would be nice to have a program firewall on the phone.
Thanks for the quick reply Wil.

Two options:
#1) Set the PIN lock on the device with <1 minute as timeout - Settings, Security.
#2) Set the Registry Policy on the device to prevent .CAB installation - Windows Mobile MSDN.
HTH,
Hi hilaireg,
Thanks for your reply. In response:
1) I mentioned in my original post that a device pin lock is not what I want to do as everytime I use my mobile very frequently as most people do and having to unlock my mobile everytime will be a problem
2) Setting the Registry Policy to prevent .CAB installation is not too bad of an idea. It will however prevent me from installing software. If I can't find the solution I'm looking for, passcode to access the software installation process, then I will have to settle for that option.
There's an app for the iphone that might work if their was a similar app for BB. The app is named Lockdown and it password protects apps that you choose to password protect. Password protecting apps may give me the privacy I need if I password protect the correct apps. However, I can't find an app similar to Lockdown available for BB.
If anyone knows of such an app please let me know. I'll continue looking.

Hi ajmusic24,
You're describing functionality similar to Windows restricted accounts. AFAIK, there is no feature to "protect" specific funtionality ... other than via the policies.
If you aren't successful in finding a custom application to meet your needs, you could always create a couple of registry files which enable/disable the installation policy.
Cheers,
hilaireg,
I would prefer an app that can provide the option of password protecting the software installation process. What you bring up about creating a couple of registry files which enable/disable the installation policy might be a temporary fix. How would I go about doing this?
Thanks,
Joone
it might require a new app that would repace the existing cab process, something like "CabInstl". So when a cab file is launched the new app would process it. This new app then would check the registry to verify uid/psw before installing to default location or other location.
Hi Guys
Looking for a developer to create a custom app which will incorporate a ms database of players, used for player entry in the poker field.
Have an install-able application to copy design and infrastructure.
Pay is negotiable, as program will also need to have an ADD-Free fully customizable poker blinds clock and player data entry.

Hey all,
I've owned Tasker for quite some time but I'm trying to get back into it lately. I like the idea of hitting a task widget button on my phone and it creating an automation sequence of sorts. Recently I synchronized Tasker, Google Assistant, Join, EventGhost, & IFTTT as I hear it's a start to PC automation.
Right now I'm struggling past this point, feel I'm behind, and a post like this could be a fast information grabber with insight.
Scenario: I would like the task to check and see if I'm logged in on my PC or not, if I'm not, it automatically fills my password in and logs me in. If I was already logged in, maybe bypass the login step unless running the login sequence wouldn't throw off the rest of the script if logged in already.. It would then execute a program, when the program is running 100% loaded, it executes some clicks inside of the software then it's done. My resolution stays the same always so if there is a x,y coordinate system of some sort like an autoIt script for the PC automation part, I believe that would work for me? Maybe something else besides an autoIt script??
I know EventGhost can apparently run as a service using software like Firedaemon. I'm running Windows 10, which apparently can help for the login part. I feel I'm so close to nailing out a logic, but I'm curious as to how some seasoned users might handle such a Tasker Task.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I'll admit, I'm not a Windows person and I'll always script before looking for a gui solution. So help me understand why you would look for ways to interact with the desktop in this manner. It just seems overly complex to me.
Why not just set up a Tasker task to ssh into the W10 machine and execute a script to accomplish your task?
+1 to ktmom, you could also try an arduino hid keyboard and try to remote control it to put in windows password. with some tinkering you could controll this with bluetooth via android
