The most recent Opera now supports flash experimentally for Honeycomb. Sorry if this is old news, but I did not see a recent thread. My experiences with the new Opera have been outstanding. Flash works great and no crashes in the same places I get crashes with the stock browser.

It did not work for me, however I did speak to soon about the browser being smooth. Its very fluid, scrolls well, and text input is great. BUT touch response is beyond ****ty. I was viewing a slide show and every time I tap the arrow it would zoom in and highlight the button but not navigate to the next page. Clicking links and buttons is far more frustrating than ever imaginable. This could be on me, but I thought I knew how to navigate web pages. Lol

This is a UK question. As iplayer might not work in other countries.

Has anyone got the bbc iplayer to play the video? All I get is a green box, the audio plays ok.
I have tried a hard reset but its still the same. I'm using Flash 10.1 from the Android market.
Help please people..... ?!?!?
Same here on 2.3.1 using stock browser. I only get sound and the green screen. Flash re-installed and a reset still no luck.

When did you update to 2.3.1?
I'm trying to work it out if the people that have it working installed Flash 10.1 when they were still running 2.3.0

My phone was updated to 2.3.1 the moment I first turned it on
me too! green screen, sound ok running 2.3.1 Flash installed.

Working fine on 2.3 after installing flash 10.1 from the market.
Would be far more useful if we could download the profs though for me as with the Nokia offering.

Has your phone offered you the 2.3.1 update yet?
If so let me know if it works after you have done it

Yep I'm offered the upgrade practically every time I unlock the phone but I don't want to install it yet.

I take it you have done the 2.3.1 update? I am trying to work out if it's the update which the Flash Player doesn't like.
Same issue as well. Nothing but a green screen on iplayer and even a few YouTube videos.
Android 2.3.1 and Flash player 10.1 installed from market.

Was that using the Youtube app pre installed or via the web browers?
There is a fix for the iplayer Thanks to ryude, sporran and others for this:
Go to google.com and in the URL bar, type; about:debug then hit go.
Not much happens but press menu button/more scroll to bottom, hit settings and scroll to bottom, you should have some extra settings, tick the box at Normal Rendering and click on UAString ,choose Desktop. Exit and that's it. BBC Iplayer will now play without a green screen.

thanks it plays but with unacceptable quality - too many pauses (resolution too high?) and not fitting the screen well.
while with the android UAString, the screen loooked nicely formatted
I guess we'll need to wait for a fix

Hi,
Does anyone know how to open a stock Web browser link in a new window? Usually in Android I can choose a new window option after a long press on a link, but on G tablet there is no menu popping up on a long press. I can do it in other browsers, but not in a stock one...
Thanks.
why use stock browser? Use Dolphin Mini, pretty nice in my opinion, and long press does work in Dolphin Mini.

Long press works in all browsers I tried (Opera, Fire Sky) except for the stock one. I like the way it handles flash and zoom, so I'd really like to make long press work on it - without it it is almost unusable.
I also noticed that stock browser goes back to the top of a page whenever I change orientation. Is there a remedy for that?

Long click works for opening in a new window in Vegan 5.1 in the stock browser. It actually was one of the main reasons I switched to Vegan from TnT Lite.

download: www.opera.com/mobile/download/versions/
choose Opera Mobile 11 -- android 1.6+
It is fast and damn smooth on sites like xda. Couldn't find how to turn flash on though. Like the "quick dial" bookmarks. Thanks for the heads up on this.
Flash is working for me on cnn.com
flash
flash is working on me sites like teamcoco.com CNN.com etc! 10.2 version
tip: turn off status bar for full screen view!
I've been using x -scope until now. using opera now
liking it alot.
feels faster.
Couldn't find setting to enable Desktop UserAgent, tried about:debug but no go, going back to Miren Browser for now

I tried this one last night and couldn't keep it because I just couldn't scroll with it, even after a calibration fix (on tnt lite 4.2.5) so I'm back to using dolphin.
I tried firefox as well and I liked it at first, but I started missing little things from dolphin like the new long press feature, so I went back again.

Dolphin HD and mini feel choppy compared to Opera. HD can't paste in text boxes, and is quite ugly. Mini can't select text. HD has best text selection.
Never tried firefox cause I can't see it in the market.
Opera has some slight rendering issues on some web sites, but not enough to break them. It looks very good too.
So far, I like Opera best.
Hi,
I'm running the latest CM7 with my Optimus 2X, and is using the stock browser. I am having problem with dropdown menus in the browser, especially with my airliners site, www.sas.se. As you see in the image below, all dropdown menus look really funny. I have also tried Dolphin browser, Firefox and I think one more, but they all look the same. Is it the website that is badly coded, or is it a general Android issue? As it is right now, it is impossible to choose anything in any dropdown menus because they don't respond to clicks.
Can anyone check if they have the same problem? Anyone who has a solution?
Thank you in advance,
I am able to select items from the drop down menus on that site with no problems.
Stock rom with Dolphin browser. Can't help you with a fix though. Sorry.

Good find! Dropdowns work with Firefox!
But...... Nothing else on that specific site... It won't autocomplete the cities when writing, and it won't (sometimes) show the calendar so it is impossible to change days, which means the ordering system fails...
Thank you for the inputs, everyone!

Is it needed? The stock browser has it built in, just select "Enable Flash Player" in the browser menu.
Sorry if I've missed the point of your post.
It comes preinstalled on the phone dude
Even if it's on the phone it's been blocked in certain browsers; i.e. Dolphin. There are threads that indicate certain versions of dolphin work but they didn't work for me. Also, I've read Chrome doesn't support flash but I don't know if they ever did. I've found Opera to be a good alternative for me.

Chrome has never supported flash on Android. If I need flash, I just use the stock browser most of the time.
I have no idea why but I have a mental block about using the stock browser. I try it and have no issues but just can't commit to it...
