I made a mistake and removed the standard music app from my phone using TB. Not a huge issue because I mostly use Google music but was wondering if someone could provide me with a copy of the apk from their phone.
Thanks in advance.

I'm using cm but on stock rom the music app is the same one that's in the market

Actually the one that comes loaded is a little different. After I installed Google music from the market I had two music icons that were different.

I updated, did custom ROM etc, but really miss the cool Old School Tube tv screen power off like it was stock.
How can I get that back?
Tried to search, but not sure what to look for.
Thanks

Did you mess with spare parts? If so change your animations back to normal. Hope that helps.

Word of warning, dont bother trying to buy a movie if youre rooted. They will accept your money and give you this...

Can Google make it so when my apps are updating, it only does it one at a time? The phone becomes practically unusable when 10 apps are trying to download at the same time. Super annoying.

just don't use your phone for a minute while they update
Maybe there's a possibility, like the netflix mod, to bypass the root check by someone that has the knowledge to do that sort of thing
If I install this, can I receive another Market update in the future? Or I should again install via APK?

Alright I think I have figured out that you cannot review content that was downloaded using the other market I think? Yeah it is pretty confusing if anyone could clarify this a bit more?

I manually updated this, works fine. I do have a problem though, maybe it's me ;o)
How do you manually update an App after installing this latest Market app.
Example:
I've installed the new market place and notice that the Amazon UK app had an update this morning. I have set this app to manual update, but when I open the app through the new market, the only 2 buttons are 'open' and 'uninstall', there's no update button.
Confused? I am... any ideas guys?

Added the new Google+ also!
I can't get this to install. I've tried uninstalling the Google Music from the market (3.0) and uninstalling the stock MusicGoogle.apk in /system/app (2.3.7) and each time I get "Application not installed".
EDIT: If I try installing through ADB, then I get:
Code:
./adb install -r ./Music2.apk
5537 KB/s (2979197 bytes in 0.525s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Music2.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES]
Just uninstall old music, reboot, install new music...it will work like this...and if after u dont c the option to syncronize just clear data in settings-applications...

Which old music do I uninstall? There are two options.
The first one is the one that sits at /system/app/MusicGoogle.apk, and this is Music version 2.3.7. It does NOT have Google Music support.
The second one is the update you can install through the market, version 3.0. This one gets installed to /data/app/com.google.android.musc-1.apk, and it does enable Google Music.

My bad...im currently on pete's rom...and it only have music 3 which is installed in system...i suggest u should uninstall both reboot and give it a shot...on a second note i always removed the old music and kept only the 3 one and i never had any problems...just my idea though...dont take me for granted

G+ also works...this time just remove the old one and install the new one...no reboot or other steps needed...in my case anyway

For those who cant install it properly:
- Uninstall music 3 (that one updated from the market).
- With root explorer, delete (or move to another path) the music app (now the old one that came with the phone) from /system/app, if you are stock, dont touch the .odex file...
- now you are able to install the new music app, BUT you will get FC, so, move the app from /data/app to /system/app, fix permissions and you are ready to go...
That is the only way that worked for me...
Edit: btw, this thing is fast, way better than Music 3... now i am even more excited about ics... damn google, why postpone...

Ok,so ive searched and searched trying to find out how to use emojis(iphone style)on a stock Jellybean 4.2.2 htc one(not rooted),and all it comes up with in search is ROMS.I have the standard emoji faces, but after the iphone style (buildings, animals, etc).I was using Chompsms, which had a plugin for emoji, but chompsms was using 30% of my battery life a day.Ive downloaded and tried installing a few off the Playstore, but they still dont show up.Can someone suggest something?Am i doing something wrong? This is my first Android phone,so please be gentle.Any advice would be appreciated

There's an emoji keyboard in the play store. It's a piece of crap though and it sucks to have to change keyboards back and forth.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Try Textra with the associated free emoji plug in. It has all the iphone emojis and works fine for me.
I had the chompsms app(also made by Delicous inc),but it was destroying my battery life for some reason.I also had the emoji plug in for chompsms, which would be the same as Textra.I was hoping there would be a setting.somewhere that would enable native Emoji, without rooting or require different roms and/or crappy, half done play store apps

I second TextraSMS. Aside from the native CM10.2 messaging app, it's the best one I found in the Play Store.

Okay speaking of the native CM messaging app, would it work to just grab the messenger.apk and install it as a system app in a stock based rom? Or is that crazy talk?

Just received notice in email yesterday of DFX's new Android music player with their sound enhancing ability built into it. Not sure if this pertains to your query here or not though.

Do you have Viper installed as a normal app or did you push to /system/app? Only reason I ask is back on my HD & M it was hit or miss when I just installed it. Once i actually pushed it to /system/app is worked like a charm.

When u say u push it to system/app.... Which file? A downloaded apk? Or the apk from the play store just moved from internal memory?
