Is there a xbmc remote that will work full screen on our Xoom's?
Everthing I tried was sized for small screens....
Thanks!

Have you tried downloading Spare Parts and disabling compatibility mode? After you disable it, you have to restart to see the changes. Basically this will stretch phone apps to full screen.

Ill give it a shot, thx!

Try Splashtop HD, I use that with the transparency theme and now my xoom controls XBMC and it works great!!

I'm new to forums ... but have you tried Skifta. It is not optimized for the Xoom yet. Only works in portrait mode for me. Let me know if you can get files to play from other sources to the Xoom (espically video)

We just updated the version in the Android market to v0.73. Amongst many other things, this should fix up landscape mode and make it a bit more sensible to use on the Xoom.
Give it a go and let us know what you think!
Allan (of the Skifta team).
Twonky works. I have a media server and I am able to access video from several devices including the Xoom using Twonky. The thing with video is what type it is. I find avi has less issues. MP4 can be tricky.
I use it with PlayOn and Vortexbox as my backends and the new version with tablet support is exactly what I have been waiting for! Nice job!
I have been using it since I got my Xoom to stream from my xbmc box. It has worked pretty well for me. My only suggestion is to make sure and exit out of the app when you are done or it will murder your battery.

Been trying for about two days to get this working, was really annoying me that when i got the nexus 7, i could not use i player.
So here it is for the others that are having problems with it.
Install the two apk's attached.
If you have been trying to get it working with other versions of iplayer and flash, please go into app manager and clear the cache and data of these apps before opening them.
go to apps and launch i player and enjoy.
No need to use other browsers now.
just installed those files, working well. thanks.
Nice one cheers

I have installed BBC iPlayer and flash player and cleared the data like you said but when I open BBC iplayer chrome opens up and says I ned to update flash. What should I do thank you
Simple indeed but The picture quality is a bit crud with this method _ if u install flash and Firefox or dolphin mini and set to desktop user agent you can just go to the iPlayer website and select and the stream adjusts to your bandwidth and you can view the HD streams too! You have to put up with the flakiness of flash in a browser but you can still watch in glorious techno vision.

Works great, but couldn't get dolphin to work with flash and Firefox isn't compatible,so I'm really grateful for this until we get an official app.

Fantastic all working.

Edited: I meant to say use the Firefox beta from play and then set request desktop - then go to normal iPlayer website.
So far is most stable way to get high quality viewing and HD options. HD stuff looks awesome - other versions just look poo in comparison.
If u want to show someone iPlayer on N7 then the above is the easiest and best imo

Funny thing that, im no expert here, but when i wiped the Nexus and re installed the i player and flash as i said above, i got the same thing. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could explain. But also i Rooted the device and set the dpi to 160 for tabley mode before i installed. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I installed Firefox Beta from the play store, it works if before going to the iplayer site you set it to Desktop mode.
Nice one, works a treat!

That's because here in the UK we pay a hefty licence fee for the privilege.
I was using firefox beta + sideloaded flash, but will give this a go. Thanks OP.
As the title says, what do you do or can be done?
I haven't really found any cool things to do with the tablet. Other than watching movies on a bigger screen than a phone, I haven't really used it for anything different that I can't do on my phone (albiet a bit slower)
Use ur ps3 control to play games

get all the square enix games. final fantasy 3 is so fun to play on nexus 7 rather than my 4" incredible 4g. Also chaos rings is fun as well as wild blood
Control your computer remotely using Splashtop 2 or TeamViewer, both for free.

+1 for Splashtop 2
If you have a Linux machine, install ConnectBot on your Nexus 7 and SSH into your home computer.
Another thing that seems to impress folks is when I use BubbleUPnP to connect to my home PC over the Internet to watch movies.
Speaking of movies and SSH, login to a Linux machine with mplayer installed and watch a movie in ASCII (works best with cartoons):
Code:
$ mplayer -vo caca Aladdin.mp4

Play Ms. Pacman
Use it as an external monitor/remote control with Chainfire's DSLR Controller app if you have a compatible Canon camera.

It's replaced my Sat-nav, and no it's not mounted on the windshield, its just below the air vents. Also used an NFC tag on the holder so when I put the tablet on the holder, it fires up the navigation app automatically
Also using it to control my TV as other users have suggested
I almost feel as though this post should be a sticky lol. Great ideas guys! Keep em coming!

Well it already has adb. Just open a terminal and type adb! You also can get fastboot on it (search xda for fastbootarm). And you would need a usb otg cable. Not sure if it works too well (my cable hasn't arrived yet), but you could also install Ubuntu and do it from there.

Is it possible to share my Note screen on my LG SmartTV?
I want to do it directly Note -> TV without a need of a computer. I know that is possible with a LG Smartphone.. with the SmartShare app, but when I install that app on my Note I got the erroe "Manufacter does not match" ...
Any solutions?
Thanks!
Nothing?
You could use MHL to HDMI and directly link to your TV, which is as simple as plugging in an MHL cable (which you have to purchase separately) between the two. I don't know of a wireless way though, sorry.

LG allows media sharing through this app, but its not a direct link and you can't share anything but media. You could also find a DLNA server on the market, but there's doesn't seem to be an easy screen share method.

I own a LG 3D TV and sometimes use Allshare to view videos i recorded, even music and pictures works..
Sharing images/videos is not the problem, the big deal is screen share wireless
If you could juri rig MHL to be wireless, that's the only way, unless you code something to do it for you.

I really hope Google adds this functionality to the Google Music web app at some point.
I'm confused, you're talking about the Google Play Music app with subscription service right? Because it has cast ability built-in if you have the latest version on mobile devices.

He's referring to being on a personal computer on a web browser. Far as I know there isn't a native cast button

Ahh thanks for the clarification, now that I read it slowly I see and agree. Wish there was a way to cast from a desktop like how the mobile app does, having a white control bar is not very good for tv's without a screensaver option.

I did have this issue. I needed to unplug my chromecast to get it to work, then it went fine.
I do hope Google adds that capability. I use Google music through the web quite a bit at home.
Soon?
When this loading the google music website icon appears but when finishes loading disappears ... it will be implemented soon?
This would be a good addition but just using the Chromecast Extension works perfectly fine. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-cast/boadgeojelhgndaghljhdicfkmllpafd
That's now possible !
