IF I'M USING YOUR RESOURCES.ZIP, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN CREDIT YOU!
I didn't see anyone having done this before on a search, and I apologize if it's been done already. I put together all the audio resources I could find for ringtones, alarms, notifications, and ui, converted them all to very small .ogg's and put them in a new zip. It's a little over 9 megs and has a LOT of stuff. Enjoy.
Oh, and if you have more to add, post them. I'll convert them it and add it to the zip
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Unzip
2. IF you are using a media2sd script, put the media folder on your ext partition. If not, use it to replace the one on your phone. I recommend using adb, or just mounting the thing in linux. It'll make it simpler.
3. REBOOT and give your phone some time to index all the ringtones. It'll take some time.
AudioResources.zip:
http://www.lighthousesolutions.info/AudioResources.zip
EDIT:
A LOT of people are downloading and nobody is posting additional links, which means (I hope) that I didn't miss any sound files. I'm glad I could help people out, and if anybody else has anything to contribute please POST! Thanks.
Also, I forgot to post this the first time. Themers and rom developers (hell anyone) feel free to use the converted .ogg's in whatever you want. They aren't mine to start with, but I figure I better make the statement clear.
Enjoy
Dead link above
My compilation is on page 3 ~Mikey~
Thanks! Can't have too many random ringtones to choose from I say. Already got the giant mega audio resource list from the other topic that includes all the various android phones, this will just help more.

I think this includes all of those, although if you find some that I'm missing, please post them. The main draw of this is that all of sound files are as tiny as possible, making it so you can fit them on internal memory if you want to, or just use less space. The entire thing is only 9.4 mb, and it includes the ringtones from the hero and magic.
Post any ringtones it doesn't contain so I can squish them down to tiny size too.
I can't find any media2sd scripts on the forum. Can any one point me in the right direction?

You don't have your rom in your sig, so my help will have to be very basic. I run cyanogen's experimental rom (not for the faint of heart) and huanyu's user customizable script. Other than that I can't offer much help. What I can say is that if you push the ENTIRE contents of this zip to your ext partition on your sd card and use huanyu's script with media2sd activated, you'll be fine.
Huanyu also has a version of his script for the stable series of cyanogens roms.
I have NO idea how to do media2sd on hero. I don't support hero as an os and will never use it unless the ENTIRE android community decides to go that route.
If you are using another rom let me know and I'll see what I can do.
I'm currently on Drizzy's newest hero build, but the guts are the same. I went back and did some research and that script is working thanks for the help.

No problem, and I'm glad they're working out for you. So far I've got over 100 downloads, so it seems people like this.
Anybody with any additional tones to be added? I'd really like to beef it up!
I'd love to give you some of miine but I don't have any that don't have a copyright next to it but if you want them anyway I'll upload them for you.
Thank you mate!

Are any of them for a released or soon to be released android phone? I could put together a "legal" and a "questionable" vesion, although the latter might have to be off the forum (hint hint). I'd like to keep the one on here being full of nothing but official android and htc ringtones for released and soon to be released (ie leaked) android devices.
Noob Question...
I'm running CyanogenMod-4.0.4 + Recovery 1.4 and the community hero rom and was wondering how I should go about implementing this audio resources zip. Do i apply the update from the recovery? Or is there some other way of getting them on?
You can push them to /system/media....but I'd recommend using hyanu's userinit.sh script instead. media2sd is FAR superior for the number of sound files were talking about here.
any chance of this being posted elsewhere? Was looking to download this, but the site doesn't seem to exist.
Can't use my host for any more hosting of FREE ringtones

Sorry for being such a noob. But could I bother someone to give me steps on pushing this to my phone? (mytouch).
Welcome to the Motorola Olympus (Atrix 4G) Overclock Thread!
Well, I didn't know what to do today, so I've created something useful, an Overclock Module. However, this is incomplete and I need help for completing it.
More specifically, I don't know how to replace the already loaded table with the one written in this module. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it!
TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONES BRICKS.
Status: COMPLETE.
Download:
Compiled module: HERE (Min 200MHz Max 1.4GHz)
Module source: HERE (Outdated. It'll be updated when it'll be cleaned.)
What you need:
1. A brain
2. A ROOTED Atrix
3. Patience
4. PC and SDCARD.
How to load it:
1. Download the compiled module
2. Put it on the root of your sdcard
3. On your ROOTED device, run a terminal emulator and do exactly... this:
Code:
su
cp /sdcard/olympus_overclock.ko /data/
chmod 777 /data/olympus_overclock.ko
cd /data
insmod olympus_overclock.ko
4. Use SetCPU for your profiles
And let me clarify a thing: This isn't a kernel. This is a kernel module
Thanks to:
Skrilax_CZ - Without you, I would never had been completed the work.
iggytom & Bakano - Thanks for your kallsyms logs!
Stay Tuned!
=NOT TESTED....what do you expect...put here some modified kernel and want to us test withou any test made by you? lol
You kiring right?
Exciting but Ill wait till a few brave souls test it out first

he says "completing and uploading"
...maybe he actually plans on testing it first? or maybe he's just trollin'
I've ever done things that I wanted to do.
I'll receive my Atrix next week, so, for now, it isn't tested and it isn't even completed.
DEVS, I need some help. I've modified the struct and, well, sincerely, I don't know how to load it and replace it to the already loaded frequancy table.
I'm posting the source, being confident on other devs that can help me.
P.S.: The module isn't simply setting the maximum frequency for overclocking. Its concept is rewriting the frequency table for getting better scaling and even better battery life adding underclocking features in the future.
EDIT:
@EclipseX
I'm not posting a kernel. Atrix is locked. Read prior to write things.
@raybond25
I don't mean why some people is accusing of trolling when those people don't know who is that guy that is posting these things....

if you had described you just said in your last post in the OP, people wouldn't have been quite as skeptical, it seemed as though you were posting saying you'd already completed (or nearly), but hadn't tested it, and were hoping that others were. That's all.
thanks for the clarification on what this is and what you intend to do
Well yes, I was thinking too much easy because I've done other things like this in the past but then I've discovered that this is different... so..

From the testers point of view before we even get to looking at this, which kernel did you design this for being we now have three currently out with the retail, the leaked feb version, and the OTA update. Pleas provide your how too asap before someone dose something wrong and burn out their device. That said I'm waiting till I see a proper OP before I look at this again, good luck.
Well the OTA's out of the question since it can't be rooted

It is a SOURCE.
A source can be compiled on every kernel you want if you've got the source for it.
Anyway, only the retail version source is out, so for now we can compile it only for the OLYFR_U4_1.2.6's kernel ...... when it gets completed.

Okay guys, I'm going to complete this.
Anyone with the OLYFR_U4_1.2.6 firmware installed can execute this command and upload to me the file?
Code:
cat /proc/kallsyms > /sdcard/kallsyms.log
This command creates a log of the kallsyms in the kallsyms.log file stored on your sdcard.
I need that file for finishing the work.
Thanks!

first: I want to release this public, but to start I decided to share it with some known guys
I'm into android for a while right now, and tried many things.
A few examples:
theming
build from kitchen
adb
build from source
To do these things, you need to do some steps. If you don't know what they are, or how you should do 'em, then you're in the right place
I teached myself (and my father teached me) some bash scripting.
ATM, I use it for resizing images.
I'll upload a screen tomorrow, together with more detailed specs.
For now, it's an easter egg for you to find out

You might wanna release this in the General Android Development section where more people will be interested, since here there are quite few who are new to developing on android and there are more full-fledged developers who basically dont use such tools... releasing this in the general development section will encourage more newbies who are fairly new to editing apps n stuff or building an environment... this tool is great, but you need to make it public to get the 'actual' response u want...
Anyway, all the best for this tool, sadly now i dont have my pc, jus an old crappy netbook which is jus nuff fo browsing... shall try this in march after my final exams...

Anyways, after someone made a suggestion and I was able to include it and include cpfr, I will release it there
OK, done. included some more things.
I think I will be trying to PORT APK MULTI-TOOL to Linux
Should not be too hard. I'll include it in my script when it's done and submit it to the DEV to publish it.
But I want you to make a request, just to keep myself busy!
Is there ANYTHING that takes you too long, seems too hard for you, or something you want to automate?
If not, I'll continue with building from source.
Please comment within 3 days

Maybe, automate the setting up of build environment for various versions of android...
So it would be like just start ur tool, go into the menu, select the build environment for the version your gonna build and it all does it by itself...
Downloading/installing packages etc..
I havent tested your tool so dunno if u have already included it in your tool...
Also, you might wanna create a directory of different types of custom roms and their github source codes link... like for example, cyanogenmod, omfgb, omgb, oxygen, aokp, codename android and so on...
So i open your tool, select the source i wanna download and it will do it...
Just my 2 cents...

Wait, this tool isnt just for O1...!
Its should me made for every phone out there... so maybe you should add the official sources and not ported sources... cuz if you start including port sources, it will be too much hassle trying to keep the source links updated, sometimes they change, too many ports for every available android device etc...
Also, u will b flooded with requests to add this source, add that source..
Do it like:
CyanogenMod- full official source from CM, github.com/cyanogenmod
Oxygen- full official source by oxygen team, (i dont remember the links)
AOSP
AOKP
CodeNameAndroid
OMGB
OMFGB
Etc etc
Add the official repo's n not ports...
It will help in keeping the sources more update as the official teams work more on their sources than individual porters do on their own sources...

Mod Edit: Per Kraizk, please carefully read the thread & all posts. Not all links are updated & flashing the incorrect file may cause issues. The items posted in here are generally for advanced users or those knowledgeable enough to contribute to the project. I am in no way dissuading you from trying something new, just asking you to be thorough & certain about what you are downloading. Some links may be outdated, incomplete or outdated builds
This is a new dev chat area for my ICS builds. I finally have power, so am back to work on these builds all day today. I will be uploading each new testing build without updating this thread, so it's imperative you check the upload time on mediafire.
At the end of each build day I will be renaming the most stable/functional build as the beta for the day, or uploading an older build as the Beta for the day.
Some builds may not boot, may not have fully functioning cam, and may not have working cell due to attempting to get fully functional cell, and functioning mobile data. I'm also attempting to revert some very hacky workarounds and still maintain full functionality.
I'm not responsible for failure to read this, broken phones, or user error.
Install instructions:
-Flash ota zip in recovery
-Reboot to Fastboot, and flash boot.img
-YOU NEED THE NEW HBOOT!
If you don't know how to follow the instructions, then these testing builds are definitely not for you, and I would wait for the daily beta.
Download Testing Builds In the Test folders, boot.img will always upload before the ota zip, so please be patient.

Damn, you beat me to the second post! After logcats, or suggestions from dev minded folks really, but currently building test4 due to issues with test3(test3 is the current build up as labeled).
This just seemed like the most efficient way to continue moving forward, and then by the end of my build day there will be a stable/functional beta labeled as such for the less adventurous.
Excellent man!. I was wondering if you'd get this up before I returned from vacation.

Yeah! Test3 is quite broken actually, so working on Test4 also without using the prebuilt libril. If needed I'll revert to prebuilt by the time I need to upload a full beta.
Edit: And I need to learn to code more and build less. Was looking through the log, and realized I accidentally copied over something from the shooter that obviously won't work for us.

Once Test4 finishes building (if it boots), let me know! or just shoot me a logcat. I've only been able to test on vivid thus far. "adb logcat > logcattest.txt" is the command to run without the quotes to get a log sent to a text file (won't display anything while it's running), or copy past from adb logcat.
GOO-INSIDE.ME IS TAKING AGES TO UPDATE, SO I'M WORKING ON UPLOADING TO DROPBOX INSTEAD SINCE IT SEEMS TO UPDATE FASTER.

OK. I will get a logcat myself when I get back, taking a bit longer than expected. I said in OP quite a few of these won't boot, so please don't say a build doesnt boot without a logcat or anything helpful. That just takes up space.
Edit:grabbing dinner so will be a bit longer.

What is chroot?
A chroot image is like a Virtual Machine where you are running an O.S within an O.S.The point of this is that you have a whole Linux System running on a phone where you can ofcourse access all the utilities available in Linux.and as it runs inside of android you dont need to flash anything and can use both the chrooted O.S and Android together.
Things required:-
1)Terminal
2)Root
3)Sdcard with atleast 2GB of free space
4)A Brain

Hi! Have you tried this on stock kernel? I believe stock kernel doesn't have loop devices enabled and MIUI is a rebase of CM? Not sure though that's why I'm asking.

The Miui i used was on Stock Kernel. The Kernel Does Support Loop devices.Miui is a Rebase of CM but the loop functionality is related to Kernel. So,Yes it Works on Stock Kernel on Locked/Unlocked Bootloaders Both as we are not flashing anything.
Anyway Give Ubuntu a go.

Thanks! Just clarifying things out I haven't meddled with stock kernel that much that's why I am asking. Well the kernel sources sony provided has loop devices disabled by default glad that it's enabled on the official precompiled one.
Anyways! Try packing backtrack that should be alot useful than debian w/ lxde or a classic ubuntu image.
I got backtrack to run on Pro sometime ago when I was still using gingerbread.

Already Did.Will upload it sometime Later today or tomorrow.
Debian and Ubuntu both have lxde pre-installed.
Edit:-BT5 UP.
Hi! seeing that you're a fanatic of these perhaps it would be useful if I give you these.
http://50.56.186.177/filez/
Those are packed and reduced sizes of debian & fedora arm images made to fit for chrooting on mobile devices. I made those for my previous device and is very stable already with 256mb RAM
the debian image is a squeeze version. Plus included is the fix for pulse audio. I'm not sure if it would work out of the box for android but with just a little bit knowledge with basic linux stuffs you could get it running perfectly

THANKS for the link...Meego wont chroot..tried it on the optimus a few months ago and failed..problem with zephyr..will give it a go later.fedora I had as well..but the thing is ...Does anyone except me even use these here????
I do but not that much. Like I said I just only tried backtrack and obviously I use it only when needed
Say do you think it would be possible to include a custom kernel on a chrooted image? It would be cool if we have backtrack here with monitor mode enabled. I think the wlan drivers/hardware of Xperia devices have the capability.
Or also try posting this thread to some other Xperia Sub forums. Arc/Pro users seem to be not very open to these kind of works. They just care on custom ROMs
In short they aren't geeky enough They aren't even that interested in dual booting.

In theory yes its possible.but changes will have to be made to the arm kernel to chroot.when u type uname in terminal the output inside the chroot is different than the android kernel.but I think native booting will be better than chrooting..not being interested is just odd....its so much fun having linux on the go

Actually I know I am going to say something Off-Topic
1) People on XDA are now the people who have got a smartphone just because they can afford one and wanna make their phone look "kewl" than the others with the same device
2) People do dumb things like cross flashing kernels.. They dont even read carefully what the OP says..
3) Running linux on a phone would be the best thing.. specially on an xperia pro where you get a harware keyboard..
