Installed App list on Market missing - HTC Incredible S

So I have S-OFF'ed and rooted my phone, and used Ti Backup to backup all my apps before wiping and flashing a new ROM (both CM7 and ARHD).
When I go to market, it doesn't show all the apps I used to have downloaded except paid ones. Yes I did sync account data.
Ok... no problem I will restore from Ti. Nope, still doesn't appear on the installed app list in market after doing so.
Hence, my question is, how do I restore this list? Without it, I won't know if my apps have updates, which is important.
This may be an obvious question and I may just be missing something stupidly important, but I wish someone would be kind enough to provide the answer thanks!

How do you check for updates on apps you restored from backup?

I recently got back into rooting my G1 since the apps to SD has become stupid easy to get setup now.
I am currently running the CSDI V4 rom and i noticed that all the apps that i restored using the "Backup for root users" that have been recently updated do not show up in my downloads section of the market.
Is there a script i can run to either add them to the downloads section or have the phone check for app updates? That way i don't have to manually check for updates for every app i have restored. I would assume there's a way since people flash new roms on there G1 like weekly now.
I tried searching the forums for this but i guess i'm not typing in the right words.
thanks
Just so I am clear, do the apps show in the Downloads section of the market... or do they just show as if you do not even have them installed?
Assuming your reffering to Titanium backup for root users. Since they are not showing up in your downloads area, you either didnt back them up with market data, or didnt restore them with market data.
If they have market data with them, they will have a "M" on thier icon in the program. Restore them again with data if you have it, If you dont, then AFAIK your outta luck.

I used BlackinSoft version of Backup for root users. The free version. darn looks like i'm SOL this time around. I had no clue that i need to check anything else beside the apk section.
titanium backup also has a free version. It handles data aswell. the upgraded version has a few perks that I couldnt live without.

You could try using aTrackDog to scan what apps you currently have installed which will look for updated version of those installed apps. It's not 100% accurate but it'll help.

[Q] Market shows no installed apps after rooting + backup

Hey folks,
I finally got around to root my stock german 2.1u1 milestone with universal androot (z4 and superoneclick wouldn't work).
i don't really have use for root, i just wanted to backup my system as it is now (using titanium backup, for the settings etc).
later that day i ran into unrelated wifi-problems, so i rebooted my phone, only to find that the market shows no apps installed
( except for titanium backup), but all apps are there and working just fine. does the market think this is a new phone?
i tried reinstalling some apps via .apk, which changed nothing and via market, which helped, so i guess i could just reinstall everything via the market.
i guess i also could just get update notifications from appbrain, but i don't really like the inconsistency.
so i guess my questions are basically these: is this a common occurrence? can anyone enlighten me? did i hurt my system?
thanks in advance
so no one ever had the same happen to him?
Same for me
Did you try to recreate my problem(with the same steps)? Or did this happen on an unrelated occasion? Have you found a fix?

[Q] Restore Market apps after factory reset

So, i've tried to restore my market apps after a factory rest and flashign a new rom, it never works, no matter if i use a custom or a stock rom, when i enter the market, i can't restore the apps i had, having hundreds of apps installed, manually doing them all, is a pain...
does anyone know of any app that can do this? or if there is some way to confgure the phone or market to do it?
Use titanium, available in the market. Thank me!
Edit...by pro version for batch reinstall,pps...u shouldn't be flashing roms if you don't know about backing up and restoring!

Titanium Backup is the app you want. It will store all your apps and app data in a folder on your SD...so that when you reinstall a new ROM, or factory reset, it pulls all the info back out of that folder.
While it will save and restore all your apps, the free version requires you to click "Yes" and "Done" to install each app, where the paid version will let you do it as a batch....yes to all, done.
And if you haven't rooted, AppMonster is a good alternative..

I know how to backup and restore, and i know titanium and it's not what i want...
i want a market restore, if install from titanium (which doesn't work across different OS versions) the apps are local isntalls and the market won't pass me updates from them, what i want is to have an app that reinstalls everything from the market so i can get update notifications, and so the restore will work regardless of what OS version i happen to flash into the phone.

Android comes with an option that when you sign into your Google account on your phone that all you market apps restore on their own but Samsung removed this option, so TIBU is your only hope, or appmonster

If your Market app does not detect re-installed apps, you can clear the Market app data at "Manage Applications" menu. This will trigger the Market app to rescan your apps..
Happened to me before and that did the trick.
Titanium backup has allowed me over the years to go from 1.5 -> 1.6 -> 2.0 -> 2.1 -> 2.2 -> 2.3 while changing handsets quite happily, so not sure why the OP thinks it cannot.
I did have to purge market cache and data once or twice, but as long as I remembered to run market access first its never failed to reattach or relearn what was installed post restoration.
Also found Joel (the author) to be helpful and responsive the once or twice I had a problem via emails ...

You have to enable backup data. Go to Settings>Privacy. After fresh installation ROM, you have to sign in Google account. After a while, your apps will appear.

Same happens to me. Have done several FR and even switched phone, but it has never worked (the standard from Google). Any suggestions?
As far as I observed:
The google way only works on AOSP-ROMs (Cyanogen).
Samsung disabled the option (just not in UI *fail*).
Restoring data across OS-versions does not work 100%. System-settings often work, system apps hardly ever work, Other apps sometimes make problems (Angry Birds never works for me).
With Titanium restoring completely breaks when switching from CM7 to a Samsung-ROM or vice versa

restore XT860 to factory state - or how to make TitaniumBackup to restore an app...

Firstly sorry for my lack of professionality, I am playing with android forcouple of days only...
successfully rooted XT860, installed Titanium Backup, started freezing and uninstalling stuff...I must have uninstalled something, which causes the "process com.motorola.contacts" to stop. I want to restore last uninstalled apps using Titanium Backup - but the culprit ones (which ones could that be? I am trying to restore everything related to contacts) do not want to be restored - TB just says "restoring app" and after 30minutes nothing...
So, please: (a) Is there a way to revert the phone to its original state? (b) how to make TB to restore these stubborn apps?
Thanks
I am here waiting for you.

yes, it is - the only difference is he deleted different app than me to end up in the exactly same trouble. I already went through that thread (and related ones) but even if it says "solved", there is no routine to follow I can comprehend - it mostly describes failures trying some scripts. I am not familiar with editing scripts etc. YET (using android for couple of days only) ... I would very much welcome sort of step-by-step description (if the word "solved" is true) - I am willing to contribute with my experience using it or in any other way, but currently I am a beginner:
- is there a simple way how to restore single apps I already have from .zip posted in the abovementioned thread?
- is there a way to restore the phone to its original state (system image available in the abovementioned post)?... just to make sure that I wont get lost if I try the ROM, mentioned in this thread above

[Q] Complete app-backups required | Titanium Backup or AppExtractor sufficient?

Hello everybody.
I am using the Samsung Galaxy S for a couple of weeks now. Since that, I have only flashed a rooted Stock-Kernel once and did nothing else yet. Previously I've been using a HTC Tattoo and before I continue to try out different ROMs on my SGS I'd like to verify one thing.
The issue I wonder about is, that so many people are flashing so many different ROMs and try them out before they finally decide for one (or continue testing further ROMs). The problem I always faced with my Tattoo was, that after each new ROM installation I always had to reinstall all apps and lost complete personalized app data.
To speed up the re-setup of my phone I tried the app "App Backup & Restore", but this only backups the APKs and gives me the option to reinstall all apps manually. For example in case of apps like "Sleep as Android" or K9-mail it sucks to loose all personal data.
Therefore I am looking for an alternative way to store apps in that way, that I can always restore the latest status before flashing (including all personalized data). In the course of that, I found the following apps, but I am not sure, if these will cover my requirements. And to be honest, I'm not courageous enough to start with any try&error approach Does any of you have some experience with one of these apps and can describe which functionalities are really covered by these tools? From the market descriptions it didn't become clear to me, if my requirement is covered or not.
Titanium Backup or AppExtractor
Alternatively, could you let me know in which way you do it? Do all of you "flashers" always reinstall all apps manually from the scratch without the previously personalized data stored? I hope not.....
Thanks and Regards!
Titanium backup you can backup either the data from the app or just the app then when you restore you can restore the app or the app plus data
Because when I update my rom it normally comes with updated versions of the apps I already had, I just restore the data so then you have the updated app with the same data a f settings that you had before

thanks for the quick response.
and do you or anybody else know if this is also mapped correctly to Android Market? from previous tries i know that recovered apps are not always shown as "installed" there. but i guess it depends on the mechanism behind?!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hello everybody.
I found it out another way in the meantime. Unbelievable, but true all links to market will be obcviously kept. As I understood, because of the installation mechanism. It's possible to install via a link to market and then to restore the customized data.
But which app can be recommended? Sure, I guess Titanium Backup?! What about jrummy's App Manager Pro? Any experiences? Seems to be quite new and covers also my requirements?
You know any criteria I didn't consider yet?
Thanks dudes
