[Q] Back & Menu Keys don't work anymore

Hello Forum!
I have a nasty problem. I installed CM7 on my girlfriend's Galaxy Mini, but for any reason, the menu and back key's don't work anymore. They don't even turn on (I'm talking about the light). Without those, the phone is practically unable to use. I tryied to flash stock, chocobread and cm9 without any luck. Several factory resets, wipes and everything, but any luck.
Can you guys please advice?
Thanks in advance!

I think u r on the wrong forum...galaxy mini has no backlight for buttons...check the model no. in settings if u hav a doubt..
OK! My mistake. As I said, it's my girlfriend's phone, not my. I have a SGII, that's why I was thinking about the light in the buttons. She just confirm me that they don't light up.
Anyway, they don't work! First, I tryied CM7.2 RC5.7, later, CM7.2 RC1, later Chocobread 3.0.1, finally Stock on 2.3.4 & 2.3.6... nothing!
Yes, I did wipes (factory/cache/dalvik) between all the changes...
Please, help!
wow weird problem....
if you have tried everything and it doesn't work, I suggest you to go to the service center, maybe it causes by hardware problem
The problem is that they were working before!
As soon as I flashed for the first time, they suddenly dead. First, I thought that was a CM7 problem, because the phone was working right but I wanted to flash to have more options. But then, I changed to Chocobread, but nothing, finally to stock, without any luck either...
Try update through KIES?

Flash a firmware which has four files not a one package firmware !
If still it does not works then Care is the answer
It simply is hard problem. Maybe 2 button have been broken!
Please flash stock ROM, then unroot and bring it to samsung center to make them fix it or change a new phone for free ^^

Some Roms just won't flash.

Hey,
I have a nexus, but my mate has the note. He is having all sorts of problems with it when it comes to flashing ROMs. I was hoping u smart people here might be able to help
What the problem is, is that only about one in 10 ROMs will install. He flashes the usual way... wipe everything, etc but either gets in a boot loop, or just Samsung comes up on the screen, it disappears and then comes back and this repeats. He has to then pull the battery. Another weird thing is that a ROM that may not have worked a few weeks ago, he tries it again and for some weird reason it works. So far he has never been able to flash an ICS ROM.
Any ideas? I've suggested to him to start completely afresh and use fast boot, etc again, but I'm no expert myself. I've never had any dramas myself with the nexus so this has me completely stumped....
Thanks
Dean
Swiped on my Gnex
Edit: sorry guys, he used Odin, not fast boot.
Maybe he dont follow the instructions correctly

What method is he using to flash? If using pc Odin does the flash get stuck at factoryfs. Img?
Was he on ics stock and did he perform any factory resets on it?
If answers are yes, it's likely he's got traces of damage on his emmc chip, but we need to know where the flash is failing to understand further.

No and no.
His phone came with GB. He downloads the ROMs using his computer then transfers the zip to then flash using CWM recovery.
He has tried lots of different ROMs. He tried to install a new ROM the other day but before doing so he deleted a few ROMs he still had on the SD card. He flashed the new ROM and it didn't work. He freaked coz he didn't do a backup first, but he tried installed the ROMs that were still on the SD card and found them all but one to work, and the one that worked was a ROM that he had tried before but didn't work then, but this time it did work...
What is happening? Is there something he can do?

Try flashing rom with pc odin instead of cwm.
Check out Dr ketan sticky thread in rom development for directions on how to use pc odin. It's simple.
Let us know how you progress.

Ahhhh ... Ok. You flashed your phone with files meant for a different version. Check the dev thread and use the guide in post 2 to get your back.
Flash the pre-rooted rom
Then for good measure flash the boot.img as well
I am assuming the radio is ok but you can flash that as well if your are not sure.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Bricked to Death! HELP PLEASE!

Hi!
I have bricked my samsung galaxy tab to death. I have tried to put Cyanogen Mod onto it but didnt work then i tried to root it and it mucked up. My home button (on screen) didnt work and i tried to put cyanogen back on again and now the device won't pass the screen which says 'Samsung galaxy tab 8.9' Does anyone know how to fix this! Any help will be great!!
Allan:crying:
Use Odin to install the stock rom. You can download it at sammobile.com. its a zip file. Extract the .tar.md5 file from it using 7-zip and use that file in Odin. You are not hard bricked and you can get the tab to work again.
Edit: have you tried a factory reset in your recovery. Try that first.

AW: Samsung Galaxy Tab Bricked to Death! HELP PLEASE!
Be sure to flash the US stock rom. If you should successfully install a custom afterwards, the US stock rom (uela3) - or better - its decent bootloader - is one of the sure methods to prevent screen flickering - for ics as well as for any cyanogens.

Just leave it until it discharges at the black screen.
I did the same thing with mine, and I didnt knew what to do, then luckily i plugged it in cuz it was dead, and then it booted!
Might not work for you, but you can try
Best of luck!

If you can't get anything to work you can do what I did and send it in to Mobiletechvideos.com. They rooted and flashed by Galaxy Tab 8.9 with Cyanogen Mod's jellybean 4.2.2. Everything working just fine and seems very stable. Happy with their service. I couldn't do it myself.

[Q] stuck on samsung logo whenever phone goes flat or battery pulled out

Hi
I just noticed that my n7000 gets stuck on the logo every time it goes flat or the battery is pulled out...sometimes a lil bump and the phone turns off (must be loose battery) but every time I turn it on again it gets stuck on the logo...I've flashed the latest official 4.1.2 rom (rooted) from following the instructions from rootgalaxynote.com. I've been getting out of the "stuck on logo mode" by reflashing the rom but it gets annoying having to do it each time my note is either flat, battery pulled out, or phone bumped...tired of reinstalling the apps over and over...
is there a fix for this?
Thanks to anyone who can help me

Try install the latest Philz kernel (with bootloop fix 2); it seems to work for me (2 days without bootloops now!). Besides, it's super fast too!
