newb question

i'm new to this forum i just wanted to ask for some advice, i've just got the xda IIi on the o2 network in the uk.
now i was told not to upgrade the rom as it would kill the battery life.... is this true?
currently here is my system info
ROM Version 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date 01/27/05
Radio Version 1.00.0
Protocol 1337.39
all help would be much appreciated.

If you do a search you will find lots of posts, on what roms are best for the IIi.
I personaly didnt notice much difference in battery life when I changed rom it was stability that improved greatly, need to do a soft reset less.

Question..for ITA ROM

If i get the old test ITA rom that was removed from FTP , colud i mix it with a GSM Radio ROM (form dopodasia ) with the GPS active ?
If i remember that rom was already Aku 3.3

the new italian rom with gps enabled should go out in two weeks... i think it's more simple wait now

I hope it will be out fast enought...
Usually TIM operator are not famous to be very quickly with the update of device

If you do the same with the original HTC ROM and a new radio ROM the GPS still won't work. My assumption is that it will not work with the original ITA ROM either.

T MDA Charmer in French ?

Hello Everybody !
First of all I would like to thank all the members for the great job done here !
I Upgrade my phone in few hours because of the good information here !
Here is my config :
MDA Compact 2 German.
IPL 3.08
SPL 3.08.000
GSM 02.69.21
OS 3.8.2.22
Do you think it is possible to set this phone into french ?
I search a lot and test also lots of possibilities, but no result !

find the french LE.

I'm looking for the right french version now !

Rom Compatibility with T-mobile in Belgium ??

Hi all
As most people I've a lot of instability with my Qtek9100
I actualy upgrade Radio rom to 2.47.11 but with no result
If I upgrade to T-Mobile 2.26 ROM do you think it will be better and firstly is it compatible with Europeen specification ?? Azerty keyboard ?? ... ??
Or is there anythink other to do ??

Radio rom upgrade/downgrade are not OS Rom dependent,you can upgrade/downgrade to any Radio Rom independent of any OS version you are using and yes! they are made to work almost universal,not any specific region restricted,you can try out any Radio Rom and check which works best for you

Any advantages to go with RUU_BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.19.831.0 ?
Should I see any improvements going from 1.14 to 1.19?

My phone is an original 1.19 French with Orange.
I already changed the rom radio and rom 6.5
But the 1.19.25581 never changed (indicated when i start my phone)
Is it that link to a Hardware Drivers?
