The development on the HD7 is for android 2.3.3, This is the android 2.2 build for the clones.
Really? Is there anybody working on this project?

So that video of an HD7 running Android floating around YouTube could be just a clone phone?

The clones have 2 Different things about them, Generally they have got black around the sides rather than our chrome plastic on the HD7's and they have different button layouts, The videos we have are of HD7's that are real. People have called them fake but theres no fake out there that looks exactly like the HD7, theres always something to tell them apart
Plus the clones run android 2.2, theres no HD7 clone that runs the Sense user interface and Android 2.3.3, as a phone can't be sold with HTC's sense user interface even if it is a cheap knockoff, the company would get sued regardless, and these clones get no updates, they will be stuck on android 2.2 forever.
But if you translate the page on xda.cn it says the same thing, the post needs to be removed as it's for clones and not for the actual device.
Our android port will come but its a case of who gets there first, Pepsi seems to be very busy, and The DarkForcesTeam are waiting for Mango to be publicly released so they can hack it onto that, as thats the biggest update microsoft plans to do for atleast a year. Ofcourse theres tango and apollo, tango will be a small update, and apollo will be windows 8, but will be released about a year after mango.

You don't need working drivers for that video - it's Liverpool - they always play in slow motion anyway so no problems with camera lag
"You don't need working drivers for that video - it's Liverpool - they always play in slow motion anyway so no problems with camera lag "
LOL !!!
Nice
Interestingly that endgadget article has a post that this phone does not actually run Windows Mobile... but some sort of rip-off.
Other sites that sell the device don't state WM6 (or any version) on their features list.
Does M$ charge alot for putting WM on a device? If so that could be one reason for the low price.
Plus it only has a 30 day warranty, I believe the tilt has a 1 year(?)
More here

Uses "some sort of Windows Mobile operating system". The real one is already a buggy mess, go figure that one...LOL
I bet it will perform better than the Kaiser, and I'm not kidding (sadly).
It will probably perform better than the Kaiser because it is using a basic OS that is more like a calculator than a Windows Mobile.
So, it probably boots up in 5 seconds, switches apps in a fraction.
But it also probably doesn't have TouchFlo, PIE, or many of the other features that make the Kaiser/Tilt nice.
It is like any of the other numerous phones out there on the market (like from Verizon) that have a slide out keyboard with a proprietary OS.
This of course is assuming the statements above about it not being WM6 are true. If it indeed runs WM6 then I am sure the performance will be equivalent to the Kaiser.

same problem for me
I have it installed (using King's Legend 1.0), but it's not doing anything. I open the app, it shows a big button that says "Launch", I click it, and then I get a black screen (top bar is still there)
This is an EARLY beta of Fennec and it was designed for the Droid/Nexus. Chances are, it isnt gonna work right with the G1.

Please note that I said it is an EARLY BETA. Actually, it's the FIRST BETA. It's going to have problems on any device, much less a device it wasnt designed to support, like the G1.
the guy said it requires android 2.0 or higher.
As I read things, it is actually an UNOFFICIAL beta built from the dev repos.
The official betas will be distributed from mozilla's website, just as the n900 betas are.
Its also a ~40mb app. My thoughts are its running itself virtually for now. But that could be one stupid theory...
The alpha is out for Android 2.0 users. Only 10M this time

Okay so I'm running a dell xt2 3gig ram 120 gig hd with windows 7 on it. And I have to say while its fast and gets the job done, there is a lot that the os doesn't supply in the ui department. I installed the origami experience for vista and that seems to help a bit, but because its 1200x800, the experience is quite ugly and limited.
I guess what I am looking for is a fast finger friendly tablet pc ui (something like the sense ui). I have the metro ui installed currently and while its good I am getting a bit bored with it. So xda, are there any more?
edit I don't have a specific os in mind. if there is a linux build that rocks toss it over
I've tried moblin but wasnt impressed
For linux: Ubuntu netbook remix. Haven't tried it because my tablet has no touch/wifi linux support.
For Windows: I use Centrafuse(mainly GPS software, but is customizable) and blue dolphin because it is finger friendly. I haven't found anything close to a Sense UI in terms of depth.
link to blue dolphin?
What about Archos 9?
It seems quite ok

How silly of me, took me forever to find it first time
Go to this web site and select the download button, this will relay you to an ftp site where you can get this software for XP or 7
http://ctl.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=19&nav=0,6,1
As for the Archos 9: running a viliv s5 overclocked to 1.8ghz and a nice runcore ssd, it is still rather laggy, and the archos has no custom ui
Have you tried moblin/meego?
If what you want is just a fancy UI, try Samurize. Very customisable and last time I've checked it was also free! Loads of users share their customisations on the site. It is compatible with Win XP, Vista and Server 2003 but don't mention Win 7.
http://www.samurize.com/modules/myalbum/
See sample below.
wovens ty for the response i will try as soon as i reformat windows 7 on mine and get the appropriate drivers from the dell website
as for the question of trying moblin/meego
moblin i tried (read the first post)
meego doesnt have any stable candidates until next month
dolphin finally loaded and that impressed me quite a bit. i like it but there are some issues with it on my dell sadly. it was a monster to install. but thanks for the suggestions they definitely help me out a lot

Hey guys, I've been scouring the net looking for the Logitech Harmony app (doesn't appear after the market fix) but just can't find the apk. Anybody have an idea where I might find it?
Scan it

I opened up that free apk site and my browser went ballistic....popup spam, cycling php site requests.
Im sorry but this thread's title is a little misleading. From what I can tell this app does not show up in the marketplace for people running android 2.2 as I could find it in 2.1 but when I updated to 2.2 today I could no longer find it. I need the APK file. I want to attempt to install it manually and see if it will work.
Here's the apk for those having trouble finding it on the marketplace. It just doesn't show up on some devices.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6NJIW14N
whats this app do? I have one of there remotes
Thank you very much kujars! I was able to dl and install the app perfectly. I've been looking for this apk for 3 weeks as market doesn't work on my gtab. If it wasn't for this website and the help solving all the issues, the gtablet would be pretty useless, in my opinion.
BTW, for those with a Logitech Revue, the harmony app works pretty well. The interface is a little rustic (read crude) but it I can't complain because it functions well.

Nothing for the remotes - only allows management of the Revue

?
This app appears in the market for me under the term "Logitech" in a search. Lmk if you still can't dl it and I will try and get it for you
for some reason it does not show up on 2.2
Thanks. I have this on my Iconia A500 and DInc OG, but when I went to pull the apk file with Astro app backup tool, it's marked "Private" (bastards). I wanted to put it on My Archos 70IT.
megaupload link seems not working, any other? i'd like to try this app but i'm in italy and it's not available in our market.....i already have the revue
Be sure and get the version that is before the recent update (11/22/2011). The app was working fine on my tablet and now it doesn't work. My conversations with Logitech lead me to believe they broke it on purpose for devices that aren't stock Android. It allegedly works for devices with Android 2.3 or lower (I am currently running 2.6.33.43 - VeganTab although the old version of the app did work with that version on my GTablet). I would like to find the older version of the app (not 2.0.0 that is in the marketplace).
How about someone share the latest version ? i belive it's now on 2.0
Thanks!
Hey guys
I have been doing research ever since HTC announced they were cancelling lollipop and remembered when I got the phone, opened the box first thing I saw was a card stating "Two years of updates". Does anyone else remember this card/still have it as I am planning to take a a case to HTC on false advertising.
I bought the phone in september 2014.. i don't remember this card but i'm sure that they just don't care about update for a non flagship phone ..
Will have a look but don't remember seeing one
Sent from my HTC One mini 2 using xda premium
See image below....confirmed that the htc one range gets two years updates as part of advantage

The HTC One Remix is the Verizon variant of the One mini 2. So yeah, it must be updated. And HTC Advantage isn't USA only, HTC's Indian site also showcases it.

I think that is important difference.
You can find more information here https://source.android.com/compatibility/5.0/android-5.0-cdd.pdf
Looking at the linked PDF 1GB should be enough. Screen is normal and cpu is 32 bit. CM12 runs fine apart from camera and audio glitches.
Thread closed, no obvious point continuing conjecture.
Whatever HTC appeared to promise, or not, updates for however long may not necessarily imply updates to Lollipop. Updates ad infinitum could mean KitKat updates and mini-updates etc.
