Ok so i am trying to determine what my problem is.. here are the symptoms. When i try and end a call i sometimes have to press multiple times or deliberately press and hold the end button and sometimes it doesn't respond pretty much at all. Also i am using go launcher and when i press icons that are in the dock bar they have the same issues. I also have similar issues when i text it's really annoying so is anyone else have similar issues?

Same here. I've noticed that to hang up it takes a deliberate double tap. Also, the screen will sometimes become inoperable requiring a reboot. This has happened three times since first getting it. One note if that out happened twice stock, and once with decrapped 1.1
Any body else seen this?
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
I haven't seen it anywhere else, but I have seen the double tap on the end button to end a call. Seems to happen frequently. A "feature?"
Either way, it's annoying.
Running Go Launcher as well.
To me, it seems like it takes the screen a really long time to wake up from being off, in all cases - for example, dial voicemail and put the phone to your ear. When you get the prompt to put in your PIN, take it away and the screen comes on, try to punch the dialpad button immediately and it just won't work. I tried it as I was writing this and had to triple tap the button.
Same thing with the lockscreen (still on the stock lockscreen for now). The screen will wake up and it takes a second or two to even start to register finger swipes. It's really annoying...
Speaking of phone lockup, I received a call a few days ago and the phone froze - I couldn't answer the call, or do anything, all the while the phone just kept ringing. Had to pull the battery. I'm still on the stock ROM.
Me too! I had a call and it froze. Battery pull as well. Also, forgot to mention I am using open home launcher.

Yep it's a bug either in LG's function to turn on and off the screen in Android, or the kernel drivers that enable/disable the touchscreen. There is about a 1 second delay to it.
I discovered this lovely bug while porting the AOSP lockscreen mod.
I'll run some more tests to see whether it's an android bug or a kernel bug. I'm betting it's android (something like the screen being turned on before the touch controller has had time to reinitialize itself, or something more complicated like a race condition of some kind...)
Either way, with cm7 around the corner, I don't think it's that big of a bug

I am running GV 1.3, and CPU Master Free clocked 1.5/500mhz.
Had 1.2 before 1.3 and it ran OK, occasional bugs but nothing crazy for a custom ROM. Flashed 1.3 and did a complete data wipe along with it. No errors. Installed recovery from the APK, used easy installer also with no issues.
Phone will randomly vibrate (incoming emails for exchange and gmail are set to vibrate) until it reboots. This is a rare issue and one I can live with...
...but what is getting very odd and possibly costly is what it does at night. I have woken up, for the last 3 nights consecutively, to the phone booted into recovery. My job requires me to be able to answer the phone at just about any hour (yay for tech support) so I am just wondering if anybody else is running into a similar problem.
Thanks guys.
You could try downclocking to like 1300mhz and see if that changes anything.
The only way I can make this phone reboot is through resource intensive processes like Netflix, or tethering multiple devices on Wi-fi Tether, never remember a reboot happening out of the blue...
Thanks for the response. How are you enjoying the warm weather? I am over on the west side of the state and we are enjoying the nice, if cold, reprieve from rain.
I do not get the impression it's from use. In fact I would argue that it is either occurring when I get an email, or is simply random, as it only happens when the phone is not being used. I.E. sitting beside me on the desk or on my nightstand when i'm asleep.

Vibrating, our phone loves the vibrate... so much so that it reboots itself from it... if at all possible don't put it on vibrate and it shouldn't happen or so the rumor goes...

It's been hovering around 30 + or - so not something I would call warm! But it's been pretty dry and sunny, so that's good at least.
There have been reports of that vibrate=reboot before as S.Meezy explained, but as to why or how to fix it is anyone's guess unfortunately
I am unable to run @ 1.5ghz, my temp will go up to 105 and then reboot (sometimes as high as 107). It doesn't do it as often at 1.2 but it never reboots into recovery.
I've never experienced the vibrate=reboot problem and I leave it on vibrate all the time... Weird.

the best is when it gets stuck on vibrating for a minute or two then reboots. I blame LG, it seems that when the screen is off it doesn't like to wake up for calls quickly (sometimes it vibrates two or three times before the screen even cones on for me at least) or even pushing the power button and the ~1 second lag before you can use the touch screen as seen on the stock android lockscreen mod. I think they force the CPU to slow down to try and force sleep/idle and not allow processes to destroy the battery to drain while screen off, but what do I know...

All versions of Gvolt caused this random "vibraboot" but only when my phone was on silent.
Happened a few times on incoming calls and almost every time I received a notification from gtalk. It became such a problem I migrated away from gtalk almost completely.
A couple of complete wipes/reflashes(1.3), blitz (1500/346)and the newest v6 and I'm STILL nervous about vibraboot. Thankfully it hasn't come up again, but I still avoid gtalk...

Don't get me wrong, my phone reboots at least once every other day. Been doing it since the day I got it (even before root).
Maybe I'm misunderstanding? The phone does vibrate before rebooting, but it does the same thing when I reboot/power-off manually. Or are you saying it continuously vibrates then reboots?
I have to leave my phone on vibrate while at home (my wife finds my notification ring tones to be annoying ) I have emails, txts, and calls come through and have never had this problem...
I've been finding that my phone reboots from overheating a lot. I've recently set setcpu to underclock once it hits 102 degrees, been running that for a few days now, so far no reboots (crossing fingers).

That drives me crazy, it makes the phone feel even junkier than it is already
My phone vibrate reboots quite often. It never happened before the gb update. No freezes ever while on froyo. When first updated to gb it used to just freeze the touch screen and became unresponsive when screen was on but a simple power button to turn screen off and on would fix it. Now on newer versions of gingervolt it usually just vibrates continously and reboots. It's really annoying and I haven't found any certain cause of it even tho I pay close attention to it. Wish someone could fix this issue.

Had no problems last night as far as resetting goes. First time for that in a couple days. Also no random resets throughout the day. I feel pretty safe saying it was indeed vibrate causing the issues.

I think I have the weirdest problem with my Sensation XL.
It works fine and sometimes, when I unlock it, the touch screen goes into super frenzy mode and starts doing things on its own. When it's stuck in that mode, I cannot use it, and it clicks buttons around randomly and very fast.
I have seen it open my messages, swipe a long gibberish text and send it (!) or this morning it just opened contacts and deleted one!
I am pretty sure it's all in random because on the keyboard I can see it swiping very randomly around the screen and in a very fast speed.
What on earth is this and how do I stop it? It almost looks like a virus or some sort of spyware but I checked and see nothing malicious installed.
The phone is about 8 months old and is not rooted. Latest firmware installed.(4.0.3 Android version).
The crazy behaviour did not coincide with any updates in software. Just started 3 weeks ago randomly and happened maybe 5 times till now.
The only way to stop your phone going mad and doing something you don't want it to do is to quickly rip the battery off, because you are unable to restart it from the touch screen.
It only happens after you unlock it, not while you're using it and I noticed it happens after a long period of inactivity.
Has anyone had that? Any help is very appreciated!
Thank you

Lock the screen and open it again. If this doesn't stop it could be a Hardware problem
I also had some problems like this on the original firmware, but rarely, it got fixed when i flashed Incredibly Cool Sense v3. You should lock the screen not to rip the battery off, as it's faster and it should work

I don't think it's a hardware issue cause the phone works well most of the time. If it was hardware the problem would be permanent, not intermittent and especially so occasional.
Must be something software related, I did add a lot of games to the phone recently but the problem happens even when these processes aren't running in the background which is puzzling.
Locking and unlocking the screen postpones the problem, it doesn't solve it. As soon as the screen is unlocked, it immediately goes crazy again.
I can only solve it by pulling the battery out, and FAST, before it sends crazy messages to my contacts

Welcome to the club. I had that same issue. But after a hard reset everything is fine with mine.
I assume that there was an app causing all that. If after a hard reset still does that you should send it for repair
If you have a screen protector its can be a main reason for this. To stop this behavior you can use power button and wake up it again. Some htc devices have the problem with multi touch screen
Issues of production. Clear the screen products with some alcohol and see than.

Must be some app, I wonder there was some way to find out which without having to do a hard reset and lose everything

You can't! There is no way you can find out which one is causing that. Maybe it's some update from something that is causing the freezing.
Last night i did notice something else though. My battery was almost empty and i took my gf charger. She has S2 and after i charged my phone it has started to act strange......... Even today after i pluged the phone to install something from the PC it didn't even notice that i have connected it to the PC. Took me about 20 min in/out to get it running I clean the usb slot every week so it is not a dirt issue....
it happens with me when there's water on the screen

Definitely on to something.
It has happened a few times when it was drizzling and there were tiny droplets on the screen (not proper rain).
It started acting up when I was swiping the screen against the tiny droplets. After locking it, it would stop responding...
Most of the times I find it either non reponsive or acting weird after I take it out of my back pocket and try to unlock it.
Maybe being in my pocket, even locked, affects it somehow.
Is it easy to put another Rom? Do I lose all my apps?

I have this problem on a bashed up screen. however... I don't think it can be hardware because if I hard reset its then OK on the next boot...

Open any app eg. dialer.
Press home button. There is a slight delay (the amount of delay seems to vary at random) and then it closes. Sometimes it's not noticeable, sometimes there's a half a second delay.
When it does happen, you can see the home button light up animation stuttering too.
Compare this with the back button.
Open app again
Press back button. It closes instantly every time.
This is repeatable, and happens with every app.
Edit:
There also seems to be added delay to the multitasking button.
When pressed at the home screen, it's there's a small amount of delay. When pressed inside an app, there's a one second delay.
Using ART runtime seems to fix the lag in home and app switcher buttons, though 4.3 did not have the lag and it was dalvik, so not sure what that means.
Pulling down the notification on lockscreen also lags. But I do have the transparent system bars mod so it could be that.

I see what he means.. I wouldn't call it lag, just delayed.
I did a screen record of it. It's so minimal I would never have noticed it until my attention was called to it
I have animations disabled
Not to sound rude but... this is a complaint? I get that the transition animation might look like crap and a tad choppy. In that demo at least, it does. But come on, just turn the animations off if they bother you. I've got an iPhone 5S, which is by most accounts the smoothest mobile experience, and clicking the home button takes the same amount of time (probably longer) because of the stupid fade in/out stuff.
If your complaint is a freeze up, then that's valid. But as an aside, I'm with you in that these animations are getting borderline cumbersome and stupid. The "lag" you see is Google's need to utilize these things. They used to be cool, like the first 1,000 times I saw them. Now they're just a lame hindrance to opening an app.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Actually has nothing to do with transition animations.
It is the delay with the home button press being registered, before the animation even starts.
And actually in the video recording above, animations are off.
This is a regression. In 4.3 the home button was much more responsive, so yes it's a complaint. Actually, not really. I'm just putting the information out, and also want to see if others are experiencing the same.
I'd love it I'd you could stop watch these findings to display this massive regression.

I am using factory stock with AOSP launcher (launcher3.apk from CM11) and ART enabled, don't have that problem, its very responsive.
Don't watch this if you suffer from epilepsy.
I guess sometimes there are 100ms delay, but its not abnormal. Delays tend to be because its trying to launch a new app.
I just tried Google Launcher and its not an issue either.
This should go without saying but... I'll throw it out there anyway. Because... Yeah...
For anyone watching the screen record I made.. You have to remember the overhead encoding video and writing to the Sdcard will have on the end result. ie: Performance in video may not be a complete accurate representation of real world use.
/I just wanted to use screen record and this looked like a opportune time.
I've noticed the same thing on both 4.3 and 4.4. Captured a video of mine and streamed it to Twitch since it's one of the few places that accepts and plays back at 60 FPS: twitch.tv/caiman86/b/479853664 (won't let me linkify it since I have too few posts)
Sometimes the home button is perfectly responsive and sometimes there's that strange hitch and delay when going home. The video showcases this fairly well.

Though I can't say I remember having this issue on 4.3. I could be wrong. My girlfriend has a Nexus 4 still on 4.3, so when I can get my hands on it (probably tomorrow), I'll confirm.
But even if it was in 4.3 and not just a new 4.4 issue, I still think it's worth reporting.
Also I don't actually know if this is specific to the Nexus 4. If anyone has a Nexus 7 or 10, could you please test if it happens.
Thanks.

I did notice a HUGE decrease in wake-up performance while messing with the lockscreen "effects". It seems either using no effect to unlock it, or the watercooler is the fastest (which I like the best anyway).
Also, try turning off the help information and the additional information (such as the weather). The lockscreen weather will effect wake-up time due to it trying to refresh when you wake-up the phone.
I experienced this issue running ART. Been on dalvik since last night and haven't noticed it yet, but it hasn't been long enough to be definitive.

2 days with mine and I have noticed this several times, some KK custom ROMs had a similar issue so it didn't really faze me but it shouldn't be there on a factory ROM. It has always come on after 2-3 pushes but again this is a brand new totally stock device so WTF?
It seems like there is a slight delay between button push and screen light up so pushing it the 2nd time actually turns it off. If I wait a very long second it lights up without multiple pushes.
My S5 seems to be possessed. Its not rooted (cant anyway) no rom, have done absolutely nothing out of the ordinary to the phone other then install my normal apps from the play store.
Yet the phone is constantly, about 20x a day just going to the 'call logs' screen. I've rebooted the phone, logged in and with nothing open poof call logs. It seems to happen more when my fingers are hovering near but not touching the screen, is there some sort of air gesture for call logs that I dont know about ? Its never any other screen, its not like its accidentally hitting the 'back' button. It is starting to get a bit annoying ..
I notice mine opens apps "on its own". Not sure if its a gestures or hover thing or what. Usually gallery or phone, which are right next to each other on my home screen (all the way left). Must have something to do with it.

I found the problem, it was my galaxy gear 2, every time it 'checked' my phone for new messages it would leave the phone on the call log. I turned off the option to open content on my phone from my gear and all is well now !
I have been experiencing this issue since upgrading to Lollipop on my S5. I too have a Galaxy Gear 2. I have just disabled 'Smart Relay' in the Gear App (which is what I presume you were referring to) and so far all seems good Thanks.
