Just press the settings button(looks like a cog) when in the camera app, scroll down the options and one is storage, where you can store on either internal or external SD card.
The problem is that i'm using high-bitrate camera on cm7 where is not this option.

Hi, anybody using a video camera app for ICS which can save recordings to the External SD mounted at mnt/emmc? The stock ICS camera doesn't have this function, it saves the captured items to the Internal SD....
So I installed CM7 on my optimus 2x, but whenever I try to take a picture with the stock camera (as well as a few camera apps), I can't because I don't have an SD card. My internal storage has 4 gb free, and I would like to use this instead. In the camera settings there are no option to change the save path. How can I fix this?
Try this one. I like the cam with some nice extras. You can change the Place where to storage the pictures in the options.

I don't have a lot of downloaded application in this phone yet the internal storage store only the picture (other is on SD Card)
Press power button and long hold power off it will ask u to restart to safe mode press yes and after it booted open kamera and play around with it then restart normally. And it should be normal it helped me alot

Is there a way to change the Camera app so it launches Google Photos instead of Gallery from the thumbnail inside the camera app?
The latest photos app asks to install a floating shortcut to photos which works in the camera app. Note I'm on the concept from so it may be a marshmallow thing

Interesting, I see that feature was launched in 1.10 Photos, but this phone is on 1.11 and doesn't have it. Also the ability to erase from SD card, which would be great.
Must be a Marshmallow thing, maybe I'll just have to upgrade.
