I have been using the "I'm Feeling Lucky" feature in the picasa client, and recently started to use that same feature on Google+ picture editing also. This makes my photo which I taken from my NS looks a lot better than the one I uploaded to FB!
Are there any apps that can do the same thing? Or provide simple features like auto color and auto contrast?
It will be nice if the app can be accessed via "Share" and share out again also. So I don't have to use that app to take photos.
Alright, I will try to write one myself.
There are many apps like Picasso with a community.
I prefer and use Molome. There are some other apps e.g. Snapbucket, Lightbox, Path ....
If you want to have an app without a community to edit photos only I use Color Touch Effects

Thanks! This is sort of what I am looking for, "without community", though the effects I am interested in "Auto Contrast" is quite hard to access, requiring clicks and flicks.
Still not really satisfied with the Color Touch app which requires me to fling quite a distance before I could get to the Auto Contrast feature, I just published an app that makes it a lot easier to do what I wanted to.
Check it out in my signature.
I am also looking for a simple tool that can apply an auto contrast/luminosity to a picture.
The same that the desktop version of picasa does with the "feel lucky" button.
I tried a lot of (free) apps, and for the moment the one that suits best is MAGIX camera MX.
But it does very much more than I want, and also installs a new camera app...
Does anyone know a light app that could do that ?
Thanks
Another one is photo lab effects you may try that aswell

I totally agree i love it and its rather nice if you have about 100 contacts and tons of music and such rather nifty app

does anybody know if there is something like this app that enables text input(anywhere) instead of typing on normal keyboard ?
Can anyone explain to me "what is geo-tagging and how to use it in our mini"...?

I've not really used it but I wondered myself when I first got this phone so I researched a little. It basically allows you to add and share the location of your photos (online). Try taking a photo and press the options button and there should be some options there. As far as I know anyway. Hope I helped a little!

Geo-tagging is a feature that lets you tag your images for SEO. IT is like adding meta data and descriptions to your images. You might need a specific app for using this feature.. search on market --maybe you will find one.
Ok...

geo tagging pics
u can geo-tag ur photographs by going to settings of the default camera app(if on samsung firmware) & checking the GPS option in it. then onward ur latitude and longitude details would also be stored in the EXIF detail of the pic..
even I had always wondered how it worked
Can anyone recommend a good gallery replacement app? The one that ships with AOSP is all well and fine but lacks a few options, primarily being able to hide certain folders. Does anyone know of an app that takes the groundwork laid and builds on it. I'm hoping to the degree that when I finally get on to ICS it'll be based on that rather than Gingerbread so something where the developer is actively developing it would be my number one choice.

Still awaiting pics.
Thanks guys. QuickPic isn't bad, my only issue is that it feels so much like Sense and also that I prefer the AOSP layout but it is a lot more feature complete than the basic gallery. I'm going to keep it around and have a play with it.
i suggest QuickPic, super fast

You made my morning.
You also made me stop calling around and doing stuff I need to do, therefore I cannot thank you
With so many posts for quickpic you can't go wrong. Do it. Now.

Yesterday I tried for the first time the samsung photo editor app and I found it great. Possibility to make lasso or magnetic selection work just fine.
Even though I'm praising it, I found that it wasn't that perfect, for instance it's not possible to make a very big zoom of the pic then use the pen on it.
I was wondering if there's a better app out there that can edit pic. I'm not talking abt brightness, color,.... I'm talking abt the possibility to select a part of a pic and then paste it on another background.
Thx

Was at a Verizon store yesterday played with the X, very nice device, one thing I couldn't locate/figure out, nor could the rep....
how do you change pic/video mp size before taking the pic/video?
Are all the pics taken in 10mp size (or a different default size), or can that be adjusted?
If so, where can Those settings be found?
The standard settings section had the basics, HDR, flash, Geo, tap to focus, slo mo, gesture etc. I just couldn't locate where to change the size of pics and video.
(Btw the X's they had at store were not on kit kat, so I know camera wasn't on latest firmware)
Anyone know?

The settings you found in the app are the only settings there are. They REALLY dumbed down the camera app. I hate how little you can control on it.
I'm coming from a 2.5+ year HTC Thunderbolt, and the Moto X is a real neat device.
But I think it's the only phone I know of that you can't preset the size pic/video you'd like.
Kind of strange, considering past dumb phones I had could do this.
Taking pics and video in the highest mp will definitely fill up the phone's memory fast.
Maybe future firmware will allow this, who knows.

I was a little peeved when I found out the picture/video size couldn't be adjusted. I told myself I didn't need all that crap from the S3 so I got the MotoX and then turned out that one small thing would drive me nuts.
Just go find an app in the market. Camera+ is one

That may be a possible solution... but this seems an absolutely silly omission from the stock camera app (especially the video).

Problem is, will 3rd party camera app launch with wrist flick, plus the tap to take pic and keep finger down for multiple is nice, as well as taking pics while recording a video, I don't think these features will work with a 3rp party app.
Motorola X exterior is customizable, they built a whole website for that customizable part, can even add a name to boot, but customize a photo before taking it, oh boy.
And I completely understand they wanted to create a phone that just works for the average Joe, but at the least they could have had maybe a 5mp and 2mp preset under the default 10mp. They can still keep white balance etc.
Plus I think camera would be even faster taking 2mp pics (not that it has to be).
Like mentioned, maybe they'll pick up on this and change in future firmware (which is at least possible to do).
