[Q] 1 symbol close to clock - LG Optimus 2x

What means the 1 symbol close to clock? anyway to remove it?
Thanks

My Wife's phone has this, but mine hasn't. So after searching for a while to find out what it was, I discovered it apparently means that you have 2 lines and are currently using line 1.
If you look in Settings, Call settings, Additional settings, there should be an option to select which line you want to use.

Icon of number "1" in the taskbar without any function connected to it

Hi,
when I turn off bluetooth, instead of the bluetooth icon a symbol of number "1" is shown in the taskbar without any function connected to it.
On my homescreen: 1 - 3G - Signalquality - Audio - Battery
On my dialerscreen: 1 - 3G - Signalquality - Audio
So there is always one icon more (1) in the taskbar, than functions to change when I klick on it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this useless number 1 icon?
Maybe it is the ALS (Alternate Line Service).
Maybe your provider is able to offer you a second phone line.
A screenshot would be helpful.
Yes, I can switch between Line 1 and 2 (ALS) and the icon is changing then from 1 to 2.
But I havn´t seen this special icon in any screenshot of the taskbar in this forum yet.
Hi guys. I've been searching to get rid of the number "1" from my diamond too.
My carrier supports ALS (Alternate Line Service) but I don't use.
I want ot get rid of the number 1. There is a screenshot so you can see.
Please help!
Thanks
Line 1 icon remove
Just try the following: go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\RIL\ALSService and change the value from 1 to 0.
Icon in the upper bar will disappear, but after a soft reset it´s there again.
Does anybody have permanent solution?
So, anyone find a way to make it permanent?
Guys, looks like the only way to turn it off is really to change:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ALSService to 0.
I've created a simple utility that makes such change on startup:
http://rapidshare.com/files/276006867/AlsStopperSetup.CAB
For me it works perfect, enjoy if you like it!

In the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL] > "ALSService"=dword:00000001 and changing dword to 0 removes "Line 1" but a reboot sets it back to default so... you can find a permanent fix to remove the Line 1 from the taskbar here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10877507&postcount=32606

Missing "0" in 24hr time format on home screen- is there a fix?

when I have the 24hr time format selected... from 1AM to 9am it does not shows 2 digits in the HRs.there is a missing 0 . IE: this is what it shows - 9:24, instead of 09:24.. is there a fix?
thanks
Fridayy
I have been tryingto fix this too and nobody seems to know how
it's weird
This setting took me forever to find, especially because it's in a very weird place.
Go into your settings, and then switch to the "System" tab.
Open the "Regional Settings"
At the bottom you should now see 5 tabs, go to the "Time" tab
Where it says "Time style:" click the drop down and select "hh:mm:ss tt"
You can also switch it into a 24 hour clock instead if you do the "HH:mm:ss"
Feel free to ask any questions!

Mine didn't have the "hh:mm:ss tt"option
So I chose "hh:mm:ss". At the home screen, it would show 4:03pm in the big clock. The small clock would should 04:03pm though.

Notification Manager - Screen settings ?

I have a problem that my phone pops up notifications - but they are blank.
The phone is a Kaiser/TyTnII ( Used to be Vodafone 1615 )
I am pretty sure that this phone has been flashed with one of the XDA ROMs as i have just done a hard reset and i still have touchFlo and a bunch of other non standard looking utilities on the phone.
The about box for TouchFlo says version 1.0 ( Build 1818.3719 ) which i am pretty sure having read all about the touchflo project for the Kaiser on the XDA developers is a version created here.
So now that i have given some background, back to the problem... pretty much everything on the phone seems to work ok. But the really annoying bug is this notification pop up.
eg. Set a calendar appointment for a few minutes in the future, set a reminder.
.... few minutes passes ... notification pops up
whole screen dims and at the bottom i get the soft buttons of "dismiss" and "menu"
No actual message is displayed on the screen.
Now i flip to landscape mode, and i can see the top left hand corner of a pop up message - the rest dissapears off the screen.
So, what have i done so far to help myself ?
1) searched these forums for somebody having the same problem/question X
2) tried some registry tweaks for specifying what message should pop up X
3) renaming the notification manager.dll X
4) looking at all the notification *.png screen images in the /windows/
folder and confirming that they are correctly set for the QVGA screen size. X
5) tried downloading the notification manager.cab for the rhodium - elsewhere on the XDA site. - would not install
6) hard reset the phone.
I dont actually want the touchflo as i prefer the spb mobile shell. What options do i have ?
Do i need to just apply the correct registry tweaks and all will be well ?
Do i download a new notification manager from somewhere that will fix this?
Do i have to re-flash the phone ? ( least attractive option to me )
Can i somehow uninstall the notification manager and go back to a windows
default version ?
thanks, you_were_lucky
Notification Manager - pop up window size ?
So some developments since my post yesterday, I tried some registry tweaks to change the font sizes.
I notice that if i tap the title bar ( next to the wifi icon) i get the notification manager screen up - this has all the correctly sized and formatted .png images and functions correctly.
It is the pop up that appears due to a calendar reminder or a wireless network found etc. that is all wrong
When i go into landscape i can see the edge of this and even click on the wireless network found radio buttons etc.
So i figure that maybe the pop up window sizes are all wrong due to some mad font size someplace. I went into the registry and tried changing font sizes down from 800 to 12 and this did indeed change the size of most fonts kicking arround the place. Unfortunately it did not influence the size of the pop up box.
Any ideas people ?
thanks YWL

Notifications and "select all" option

Couple of questions about this damn phone. There are some changes from my Note 3 that are driving me crazy and I'm wondering if there is any way to fix it.
1) On my Note 3 when I got a notification like email or sms, I would get a summary in the notification bar showing some of the email/text and who it was from. How do I get this back?
2) When I select text the "select all" option is usually (but not always) in a sub menu which requires me to tap the three dots. Is there a way to always get Select All on the primary options?
There are just so many changes like this that make this an inferior phone. It's not like things are different/better there are just some things that are missing. I guess there's a good reason I held onto my Note 3, it may have been the last great phone (with the exception of the camera); especially on Sprint because it was the last phone that did voice + data well. Don't get me started on the Call+ nonsense which doesn't work well or reliably.
For the first question, I think there are apps that can solve it. However, for the second one, I don't think you can fix it.
Can someone suggest an app that will display the text of my notification in the notification bar as they are received?

Has anybody solved notifications issue on Mate 20 Pro?

Hi everyone. Can anybody post a screenshot of your homescreen with received emails / messages icons showing in the top left corner of the Mate 20 Pro screen (notifications area) please? I'm sick and tired to hear explanations like "hm, weird. might something wrong with your firmware", hm, I've got everything". Something is telling me that this problem is notch related and Huawei simply don't know how to fix it. Thanks in advance.
What problem do you have?

Okay, I want my phone showing notification icons like in your second screenshot with received emails icons. To other screenshots are the result of action like swipe down gesture. How did you get emails icon there?

No notification icons (emails, messages...) in the top left corner. All I have got is operator name and signal strength (GSM + WiFi) signs. That's it. As a result, I'm missing important messages and emails, not reading them in time. Never experienced anything like this on Pixel, Galaxies, LG, HTC and Sony phones. Also my previous phone - Mate 10 - didn't have this problem too. Can't find the way to fix it on Mate 20 Pro.
Maybe you have disabled them by mistake, you can always go to app setting and enable notifications for each app you want.
It's a horrible notch on this phone.
I'd much rather that if the option to turn "off" the notch is selected, that the whole top line would be moved down so that icons show in an entire row the line below, instead of the very top notched line, but such is life!
For you, is this a space issue do you think?
I've changed the option to show a notification number instead of individual icons. At least with this method, you'll know something is there?
.
You have the place for only 4 icons at the right and at the left of the notch. So that depends if you have Bluetooth on, network monitor on etc... Etc.. For each apps you have maybe in notification bar you should disable apps that you don't want to be in notif bar. For exemple I use Tasker but don't need it in notification bar, so I removed is icon in notification menu.
Like you I don't see my email or text msg notification icon but is because I've Bluetooth on, alarm on, vibrate On and data monitoring on so... Alarm icon don't appear coz I've also signal strength.
Signal strength + Bluetooth icon + network monitor + vibrate mode = 4 icons nothing more. If I switch from vibrate mod to ring mod i' ve again one free slot for another icon etc... Etc..

I haven't touched or disabled anything. Everything is on default settings. I've checked all notifications related settings, everything is enabled.

Yes, this is a space issue and a Huawei issues at the same time. I set "show numbers" options but still no luck. Maybe my current operator name is too long to have anything else beside.

Okay, thanks for explanation. Thant's mean it is space + Huawei issue indeed. Useless (no notifications whatsoever) AOD is quite frustrating as well.

Have you tried unticking the display carrier name option in the display settings?
Edit:
Ahh, this only affects the home screen and not the lockscreen. Never mind
There is room for 5 icons and not 4. The last three ones are replaced by new icon.
I think you've changed something in settings that's why you're not getting notifications.
If you look at second screen shot, you can see that sms icon in the first photo is replaced with keyboard icon and on the third it's back again.

Okay, I see. Seriously, I haven't touch any settings, all in defaults state. Just tried to disable providers name and finally notification popped up! Anyway, notch is the culprit of my issue. I takes heaps of space so with provider name displayed by default there is no space for anything else. Can't justify such a huge notch and having below the average sound from the speakers. My old small Pixel 3 sounds a way clearer and louder even not at high volume. Don't really care about secure and fancy 3D face recognition at all.

Then you bought the wrong handset. The notch is there for a reason. I love the 3d face recognition, so I live with the notch. I bought the right phone.
You can also use adb to permanently disable some of the system icons like Bluetooth, alarm clock, nfc, etc.. This really helped clean things up and made more room up top for notification icons.
One option I wish they had was the ability to move signal and WiFi from left to right.

Total is 8 icons....4 at left and 4 at right or 5 at left 3 at right etc... If you choose to put battery % out of his icon you will see... Battery icon take 2 places, % take one, time take one = 4
If you put battery % inside his icon : battery icon take 2 places, time take one = 3, so you have automatically 5 slots available at left... [emoji57]
