Help needed after flashing Overcome ROM v3 - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have been searching around for ages to find an answer with no luck!
I just flashed a mates tab with the following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074759
"[7.July.2011][ROM][GSM][2.3.3] ◄► Overcome ROM v3.0.0-ICARUS ◄► Kernel v3.2.0 ◄►"
The tab is from optus here in australia - the problem is now it asks to inset the sim card - but its in there.
Now I made sure to flash a modem for optus...
What am I missing?? He is here watching over my shoulder lol

I am trying a full relfash using the JPZ modem.... any ideas as to what is should be?
***EDIT - OK - it seems following the overcome mod steps - when I do the odin flash with the choice of modem its all ok.
It reads the sim card no problems and gets service.
But when I update to the overcome mod via CWM using the zip file - it no longer works...
Any ideas?

help?? I still can't post in the dev forum even tho I have been here for ages

[Q] Flashing Bell Galaxy S

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right section. I attempted to flash my Bell Galaxy S with the [ROM] Bionix 1.9 - JI6 OTA Build - Oops I did it again *10/14/10* and basically it installed no problem, but once it did my phone would no longer connect to the network at all. No voice or data connection just sat on searching. I restored from my nandriod backup and to my horror, still no network connection (voice or data), wifi and everything else worked fine. I ended up doing a lot of reading and staying up until 8AM to get everything fixed, felt a little stupid once i knew how-to fix it.
But now to my question, if i want to flash one of the roms, is there any special procedure that i need to follow to not loose my cell network? Any help would be fantastic
LOL... Thats sux's anyways you can't flash that rom. its not for your phone you have a GT-I9000... that rom you have flashed is for the SGH-T959.... You will need to download Odin 1.3 and flash back the whole JH2 firmware to get your radio files back. or download any rom from the i9000 forums and flash it.. but the only way to get 850mhz back is to flash to the stock JH2 firmware. unless you know what your doing and know how to flash just the radio files. you can also try kies with a reg hack to flash different firmwares.. just look around in the i9000 forums..
Go to samsung-firmwares.com and download the JH2 firmware then flash it back. Tmobile Vibrant is different from the i9000x line of phones.
I think you guys misunderstood, I have fixed it already using ODIN. I was just wondering what was flashable without breaking my radio.

[Q] Alot of questions from a fresh newb ^^

Okay, so i plan to unlock/root/flash my phone and i have read all most all the guides there is but it got me only more confused
there are many guides from different people and different methods to root and unlock the phone and i just don't know which method should i choose.
let's start over...
The first thing i did is to read about "how to root your SGS" and everything about rooting...and i was sure 100% to go with the "SuperOneClick" method but then i found this guide about "CF-Root v1.3"...so which way is the best? with the minimum risk for bricking the phone
The second thing i did was to read all about unlocking the phone...
so there are 3 methods: the unlocking code that doesn't work for everyone,
the file editing "nv_data.bin, and buying the "Vibrant unlock pro" program from the market... so my question is which should it be?
anyways after i was done with that...i have started to search for a ROM to flash
into my phone and i think i have found 2 of the best ROM's here...
the first one is "Darky's v9.2 Extreme Edition ROM"
and the second one is "Doc's & Stefunel's magical ROM Kitchen" but the problem is i'm too noob to build my own ROM...i don't know what modem to choose or what CSC and stuff like that...i just want my phone to work fast and be fully customized and with out lags...oh and Hebrew support ^^
so here are some questions about Dark'ys ROM
1.what's the difference between "Darky's v9.2 Extreme Edition" and "Darky's ROM Resurrection Edition" ?
2.will Darky's v9.2 ROM will work on my Froyo 2.2 firmware?
3.if i flash any of Darky's ROM's will it change my network signal? i mean i have a very good signal all most everywhere...will it get worse if i flash a new ROM?
4.there is this video about how to flash "Darky's ROM Resurrection Edition" step by step from the beginning till the end using Odin...and the guy that did that vid, made all this flashing stuff soooooo simple...the question is: Is it so simple? (lol) the video called "Darky's ROM Resurrection Edition" search on youtube... I'm new in this forum so i can't post links yet. (sorry about that)
5.do i need to root and unlock the phone before i flash the ROM? because the guy in the video didn't do that :X
6.if i root my phone and flash a new ROM with wipe out will it delete the superuser icon? and then ill need to root the phone again? or not?
7.why do i need the CWM to flash new ROM's? i mean how is it better then the stock one
8.do i really need to unlock my phone to flash a new ROM? how is it helps? it's just unlocking my Sim so i can use other networks, and i don't need the other networks =\
9.there is some videos on youtube that guides you through the whole process of unlocking/rooting/flashing... but the guy in those videos does it by using only the Update.zip method with out any programs... he rooted his phone, installed CWM and flashed Darky's ROM only with the Recovery mod. by the way he had SGS i9000m and i have SGS i9000 does it make any difference?
or i can do that too step by step and it will work just fine
gosh i think i wrote enough for one thread...
i just want the easiest way to do all this but there are just too many
Thank you very very very much for reading all of this and for you help in advance ^^
here is some phone details:
Froyo 2.2
PDA: I9000JHJPA
Phone: I9000JHJP6
CSC: I9000PTRJPA
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Signal info:
WCDMA 2100 Band 1
Reg PLMN 425-1, IsPCS? o
FREQ DL: 10662
FREQ UL: 9712
oh and i live in Israel if it helps in some ways
Again Thank you very very much
(sorry for my lame English)
Darkys posts has all the details ..
Doc's & Stefunel's magical ROM Kitchen
Post has all the details
Major stickie .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
Understand what you are doing before you start .
Root the phone first .
Then my advice would be to go to the D&S rom kitchen read the faqs on first pages
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
Have a look around the kitchin and see what is what .
http://romkitchen.org/sgs/?s=generator
Plan it all out before you do anything .
Confused flashers brick the phone usually .
jje
you see...i have read it all ready and the D&S rom kitchen seems too complicated for me.
i won't me help me if i will read it twice =\
i just can't find the answers i need in those posts
Well, everybody has to start somewhere!
as for rooting I would recommend superoneclick, unlocking works quite fine with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906255
macki80 said:
1.what's the difference between "Darky's v9.2 Extreme Edition" and "Darky's ROM Resurrection Edition" ?
the resurrection version is a "clean" darky rom which can later be customized via darky app. The other one is the full package
2.will Darky's v9.2 ROM will work on my Froyo 2.2 firmware?
yes
3.if i flash any of Darky's ROM's will it change my network signal? i mean i have a very good signal all most everywhere...will it get worse if i flash a new ROM?
the modem will be changed which influences signal strength but I doubt you'll notice any difference. If you do, you can always flash another modem
(sorry about that)
flashing with odin is quite simple, but I would recommend the cwm version for now
5.do i need to root and unlock the phone before i flash the ROM? because the guy in the video didn't do that :X
i would recommend it although at least unlocking is not necessary
6.if i root my phone and flash a new ROM with wipe out will it delete the superuser icon? and then ill need to root the phone again? or not?
if you use darky, it has the voodoo kernel which gives you root from the beginning
7.why do i need the CWM to flash new ROM's? i mean how is it better then the stock one
cwm is an extension to the recovery mode which allows you to apply various zip files
8.do i really need to unlock my phone to flash a new ROM? how is it helps? it's just unlocking my Sim so i can use other networks, and i don't need the other networks =\
no you don't but still I would recommend it as the network lock might cause trouble
9.there is some videos on youtube that guides you through the whole process of unlocking/rooting/flashing... but the guy in those videos does it by using only the Update.zip method with out any programs... he rooted his phone, installed CWM and flashed Darky's ROM only with the Recovery mod. by the way he had SGS i9000m and i have SGS i9000 does it make any difference?

and for the ninth question the video called Pimp my SGS but what ever you have answered my question and I'm very grateful

The easiest solution would be to flash JP6 (which you are currently using and seem to like) IF you have signal problems after you're done with flashing.
one last thing...
i just entered this code *#7465625#
to check if the phone is SimLocked (i didn't used the program you gave me yet)
and it says
Network Lock [off]
Network subset Lock [off]
SP lock [off]
CP lock [off]
does it mean that my phone is already unlocked? or it should be "Network Lock [On]"
because if yes...i bought an unlocked phone and i don't need to worry about that anymore

yes it's unlocked...
LOL! Yay for me
so the only thing left is to root with "SuperOneClick"
And Flash darky's ROM
let's get down to business then ^^

after i flash darky's ROM what kernel will you suggest to a rookie like me to use?

I personally recommend speedmod (because of its extra features) but voodoo is a great kernel too...
i just can't help myself... xD
i gotta ask everything before i flash anything to the phone...sorry about that
Question: "SuperOneClick" gives you root right? does it give you Recovery 2e too?

no, it installs only the root-related things (superuser.apk, busybox) but no recovery things
1. - Android needs Root Access. (For Froyo 2.2 and 2.2.1)
You need to grant yourself superuser access to system files on the phone. You also need Recovery 2e. You do that by installing CF-Root using the Odin flashing software.
1.1 - Pick the CF-Root matching your Firmware Version here
(take the v1.17 Busybox Version).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
This is from Darky's Guide... Let's say i don't want to use CF-Root because as i understand you need this only if you use Odin...
But can i do it my way? i mean
Root The phone by SuperOneClick, Install CWM and then Install Darky's ROM 9.2 from the recovery...
will it work?
I would recommend using CF-root, because that'll give you root and recovery 2e if you don't already have that (ie already on a 2.2 rom).
What CF-root do i use?
CF-Root-JPJPA-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1.zip
or
CF-Root-XW_XEE_JPA-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1.zip ?
my build number is - Froyo.JHJPA
CF-Root-XW_XEE_JPA-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1.zip

[Q] Bell GT-i9000M Stock to CM7

Hello everyone. I'm usually pretty good at finding what I need on the net, but recently that has changed. I have been trying to get CM7 on my SGS with no luck. I have followed the Wiki (see link below) with little success, as well as the second link. Those instructions gave me a boot loop using talon kernel.
What i'm looking for is someone to help me out based on what my phone is already running.
Model Number GT-I9000M
Firmware Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version I9000UGKG3
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I9000UGKG3
[email protected]#2
BuildNumber GINGERBREAD.GKG3
I'm comfortable with ODIN (Used plenty of times to get phone back from the dead a couple of times.)
I've gone through the forums and google as well as youtube. It seems they are always on a custom kernel or firmware before going to CM7, so somethings don't apply.
I'm under the impression that my version does not support CWM recovery and that's why using ROM manager fails with a e-signature error and that changing the kernel can change that.
I know there are some really smart people in here that are already rolling with CM7 I could really use their help. File links that work, and are appropriate for my build and maybe an updated guide for the times.
If you can help me out; thank you so much! If not, I understand people are busy.
Cheers
Jay

Just flash to JVT, root with Chainfire's kernal, and install CM7 with CWM. None of the developers bother with making stuff for UGKG3 since not a lot of SGS ship with it.
I think I remember something about stock firmware and bootloaders.
Download a rom that has 3 files + boot loader. (I think Ramad has some JVT rom that will work)
Flash with odin, click update bootloader. If the rom isn't prerooted or if it doesn't come with CWM then flash a kernal with odin that supports it.
Then you should be able to follow the rest of the steps.

This doesn't apply. Your bootloaders are fine, and you're doing nothing but taking a risk by flashing them for no reason.

Look here. This guy knows what he's talking about.
I've never run into this problem, even though I have an i9000m—but that's probably because when I got my phone, we were still on 2.2. If KG3 is giving you troubles, the simplest solution would be to flash a different stock firmware, and then simply proceed from there. Same thing as the above user posted.
Hope it helps! And sometimes it takes time before the right person stumbles onto your thread. Paitence is a virtue.

Hi,
I have the same problem... but no one seem to have mentioned any solutions on this thread
i followed step-by-step from the wiki, i did "heimdall flash --kernel zImage" and then the device automatically rebooted... and i am also stuck in this boot loop that goes nowhere...
any help?
Here follow the instructions I gave this guy earlier today. This will get your running on JVT with Kg3 modem and root on your I9000M....from there your can flash cm7 through cwm.

First of all, thanks again for the link ... i got the first of your advice working properly. I'm running JVT with KG3 modem....
however, for some odd reason I can't flash CM7 through CWM. I've tried the stable and nightly versions and each time I flash, I get the to point where it saids "install package" ... and then it just goes into this infinite loop where I see the standard SDS logo screen, then I see the CM7 SDS logo screen... then i see a bunch of commands that the flash is trying to run, but its too fast and I can't see what its trying to do...
either way, it just loops over and over again... and i gotta use ODIN and flash it again, but still no way to run CM7
any suggestions?

Hi jayallen,
I would like to thank you in advance for looking into this for me. I also want to apologize in advance for I think this would have been asked quite sometimes but unfortunately I am not able to find the right firmware. My phone right now is stuck at the samsung logo screen in the start. It is samsung galaxy s and the provider is Bell Canada. It does go into Downloading mode and I have tried many different .pit, pda, modems, csc files but none have worked. I am sure my phone is I9000M and on the latest version of Android (gingerbread). The phone info I think is very similar to the one below:
Model number
GT-I9000M
Firmware version
2.3.3
Baseband Version:
I9000UGKG3
Kernel version
2.6.35.7-I9000UGKG3
[email protected] #2
Build number
GINGERBREAD.GKG3
Can you please, paste the links from where I can get the Modem file and the firmware (PDA, CSC, PIT) which will work with Bell network provider. I think I know how to put it on the device. Any help will be greatly appreciated in regards.
Thanks.

[Q] Data Connection Lost

Hello,
My phone has lost its data connection. Happened last night, while flashing to Alpha 8 I bricked my phone so I used Odin to flash JVS on to phone and then go to another ICS build. After many problems with that procedure, I got my phone live but no data. Calls/Texts are fine, only data is not working. This has happened once before when I first got my phone to Canada from Australia but it was sorted by flashing JL2 modem with Galnet MIUI (already tried that to no luck this time).
- i9000 Model
- APN settings are all perfect, its retrieving them itself and I even tried setting my own.
- Flashed multiple modems
- Tried *#*#4636*#*# band selection and network preferences
- From Stock, I tried *#*#0011#*#* Network Band selections (my phone does not have 850 available as per hardware limitation)
- Data has worked for 3 months without an issue
- Reflashed ROMs from JVQ/JVS and no luck. (Tried going back to Froyo but Odin freezes during process so maybe not)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Alpha 8 he said mate (ics). Try jm9, odin and repartition - will sort most problems.

Hello,
while flashing to Alpha 8 I bricked my phone so I used Odin to flash JVS on to phone and then go to another ICS build. After many problems with that procedure, I got my phone live but no data.

This tells me flashing to A8 bricked his phone .. and current rom is 'Another ICS build'
Fresh start from stock is a good way forward though
Thank you for your responses. I on currently on the teamhacksung's ICS build 2. The reason I didn't think it was that important was cause I'm pretty much ready to go to any ROM that someone knows a solution for.
- I've tried from going to stock and even at stock theres no data connection. Tried this with full SD card formats and wipes.
- I'm going to try JM9 now, I'll report back with results. Thank you.
I flashed CM9 Beta 3 now. I make it following
1. Flashed I9000XXJVQ + PIT
2. Flashed CM9 Beta 3
3.Flashed CM9 Beta 3
And all works...

Im trying now figured out how to use voodoo color on CM9 Beta 3. Do you know ? Anybody
UPDATE:
- JM9 approach was a flash fail, for some reason I cannot flash to Froyo at all.
- Double flashing ICS did not restore data. The ROM works flawlessly otherwise.
Thank you guys for your thoughts, they are very appreciated.

You probably have GB bootloaders, in case you want to go back to froyo you need a base rom with bootloaders, and check update boot loaders in Odin.
But why use Froyo if you have ICS working

Well, apparently my extensive and numerous flashing over the last few days failed to account for what might be the obvious issue ...
Virgin disabled data on my account by accident. Problem solved, thank you all for your help.

Flashing CM10 on GT-P1000R

Hi all. Couldn't find any posts about this specific problem so here goes:
I'm trying to CM10 on the following device:
Model number: GT-P1000R
Firmware version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: P1000RUXKG1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
Build number: GINGERBREAD.UXKG1
I've rooted the device with CF-Root v3.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885734, CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.zip) which installs CWM 3.0.0.5. When I reboot in CWM Recovery mode and try to flash the zip, I get the following error:
assert failed: assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxytab" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "galaxytab" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-P1000" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "GT-P1000");

I got around this by removing the assert line from updater-script and reflashing and although I see the logo, I get stuck in a boot loop as it tries to finish. Any way to get CM10 working on my GT-P1000R? No one else seems to have this device (it's GSM on Rogers in Canada).
P1000R is just a normal P1000 (M or R, plain P1000)
I have not tried but I am sure CM10 need CM9 first.

Seeking help flashing my SGT P-1000R

I have had the same difficulty flashing the rom for my GT-P1000R, as most roms are designed for the generic GT-P1000 and upon flashing check for the version and stop because ours is specific to Rogers. Exactly what did you do to modify the updater-script and what is the file called in rom ZIP package?
To be honest, ever since I was foolish enough to upgrade to Gingerbread earlier this year I have regretted it, as my Bluetooth no longer works with my HID keyboard. As I believe in going forward is best, I am looking to upgrade to ICS, but as a last resort going back to Froyo (if I can find it) would get me back the functionality I lost.
I would appreciate any help you can provide as I have scoured the net and found very little that deals specifically with our version (GT-P1000R) of the SGT.

Perhaps, but every time I try to flash a rom made for a P1000, the install fails indicating in the error message that it has detected my tablet as being a SGT P1000R, hence my original inquiry. I am sure it is simply a question of updating a config file to fool the installer, but which one?

Thank you for the links to the Overcome method, and I now have successfully upgraded my former SGT P1000R, Android 2.3.3, to a SGT P1000, Android 2.3.6 - A significant improvement indeed! Unfortunately my test to see if my Bluetooth HID keyboard works with my new and improved SGT came up short - Will pair, but not connect.
After doing some research and coming to the sad conclusion that only an upgrade to ICS will do to get the aforementioned functionality to work, I tried AKOB and CM9 upgrades, following the instructions available. Each and every time I tried the upgrade, the tablet went into an endless loop of reboots indicating an error, which was displayed too quickly to read. I ended up having to restart the Overcome process again to salvage things.
Alas it is late and my quest to get ICS installed on my tablet (unless someone can tell me how to get a connection to my Bluetooth HID keyboard in 2.3.6) will wait for another day. Thanks anyway for the help.

IIRC the endless boot loop is due to the install process complaining that it couldn't find some partitions. When you get to that point you should just reboot to recovery and install the zip again for the 2nd time and it should work then.
I finally have a fully functional SGT P1000, running the latest version of CM9 ICS, and I must say this has breathed new life to my tablet! My sincere thanks for all the assistance I have received, despite what at times must have seemed endless silly questions for the more veteran members here on xda-developers.
Now time to get used to the ICS interface and some of the quirks (e.g. mapping of storage) that come with this new version of Android. However, thanks to the obvious removal of all the "bloatware" that Rogers added, the performance of my tablet is phenomenal! :victory:
Which files for GT-P1000R running on GB2.3.3?

Hi! First of all, thanks for all this information! I Also have a GT-P1000R (Rogers) running on the same gingerbread version UXKG1 and rooted with the original thread. So, literally, my tab is in the EXACT situation from the original thread. I am assuming that in order to flash any custom ROM's, i need my tablet to be recognized as a GT-P1000 . I am reading the manual, and i am wondering which modem to use. Or do I just need to do an update considering I am already running Gingerbread 2.3.3 ? My overall goal is to have my tablet recognized as a GT-P1000 (not with the r) and eventually upgrade to ICS or higher, also for the primary reason of using a bluetooth (hid supported) keyboard...among other things.
I am familiary with Odin and these instructions are great, I am just slightly unclear what to do in the case of already being on gingerbread 2.3.3, but working with a GT-P1000r. Thank you in advance for your help!

I also posted this above to another reply, but am worried it will get missed.
I have the same table you do (GT-P1000R) with Rogers, and it was rooted with the same file you used in this original thread on UXKG1.
Do you recall if you just had to do an update with overcome (since you were also running 2.3.3 , UXKG1 as per your first post) , or did you do a complete overhaul.
If you had to do the entire process, which modem did you use? these are the options given...
-GSM based GT-P1000 Tab (Asia, Europe, Middle East, Occeania/Africa, rest of world, etc..) : use JPZ MODEM
-North American T-Mobile Tab user: use T-Mobile Modem
-AT&T (USA), Tel Cel , etc - use JK3 modem.
I am assuming i would use the NA Tmobile based, considering Rogers is Canada's 'sister company' to T-Mobile? but i want to be sure...
Thanks for the help..as you know..there isn't a lot of info on GT-P1000R version..
Not quite.
Rogers is using 850/1900 MHz , the same as AT&T USA
the term NA T-Mobile there is to differentiate that with the UK T-Mobile, which use the usual European frequency.
so At&T modem ?

Awesome..thanks for clarifying. JUST in case...I will Clarify then that I should use the A&T , etc modem version? Any other tips I should be aware of ...as I am working with a rogers version? Thanks.
Yes, use AT&T modem.
No other tips regarding special treatment, they are identical to normal P1000 except that the modem radio is made to work on 850MHz for the 3G part.
Anything you read about P1000 here applies equally to a P1000R
And you can use the Overcome method to get yourself a CWM recovery to flash ICS.
The link to its latest files and guide is in my signature.
If you are prepared to wipe out everything and start fresh.
Get the GB-stock-safe-v5 package (it has rom, odin, windows drivers, modem files)
and the PDF (read from page 7 onward)
and the Overcome Kernel 4.0 tar format.
Only the kernel, you don't need the Overcome Series 7 rom, if your eventual target is ICS.
Once you completed the step of flashing the kernel, you can reboot to CWM recovery and use that to flash ICS/JB, then its corresponding gapps, and you are done.
Last question...(i hope)

This might sound dumb - but because i've boot looped my galaxy s I9000m before (that STUPID m at the end...just like the r for my tab..) .. i want to make sure what exactly will be happening. I am familiar with Odin and flashing kernels, not so much modems...
My end goal is to EVENTUALLY flash ICS or J/B , but i haven't thought that far as to which one to go with, etc..so i might not do that part for another week or so -whenever i have time.
If i only do the instructions you gave me (for the rom, odin , etc) and the kernel, my tab should be all good to still use in the mean time, until i decide to flash ICS or JB?
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.... I appreciate the assistance, and will be giving 'likes' and donations for SURE for all the help.
Yes, the guide is for Overcome Rom which is stock Samsung based gingerbread Rom.
The look is very closed to stock, but the kernel is improved.
Many are happy with just running it.

I am sorry, but as I read the thread through some more...i am still a bit confused of a couple of things. I know this is really probably a simple process...but bricking my tablet is the last thing i want to do.
Answers to the following would be so helpful:
1) Do I need to install the modem? I am currently on GB 2.3.3 unlocked and rooted. My tablet and root information is the same as the original thread. It is rooted with
CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.zip from the following thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317384 . I have not installed a modem before..so not exactly sure when/why this should be done and when it is not necessary to. - or do i ONLY need to go into odin and flash the kernel and rom. I am trying to get my tablet to be recognized as just GT-P1000 not with the r. It is the modem that will change how my tablet is recognized?
2) Do I need to insert a SIM card when I flash Overcome modem (if necessary) and kernel and Rom?
I do have a SIM card capable tablet, but I dont actually have a sim card for it. I use WIFI - and tether it from my phone if i need to. My service provider in Canada, Sasktel, blocks SIm cards from being able to use it in more than one device at a time (lame I know) , so buying a SIM card and not using the radio doesn't make sense. that being said , I DO want to be able to use the radio with a SIM card if i need to, like when I travel overseas and purchase one for their carriers.
Thanks again!
Your current rooting method leave your tab as P1000R, that is why I recommended overcome from scratch.
And I didn't know you are rooted and have cwm
Modem is for mobile network.
Wen you flash with Odin "repartition" , your modem will be wiped out.
A modem is required.
if you never use mobile function, any modem will do.
Remember being P1000R, if you are overseas other than with USA at&t, you only get 2G.
In Europe and Asia the UMTS freq is 2100Mhz and your tab is incapable of doing that.
You not need SIM to flash overcome.
Since you have cwm, you can just flash overcome ROM series 7 from cwm. Try that.
Since

Thank you SOOOOOO much for the help on this. you answered sooo many helpful questions.
TBH - i love this ROM , and i would love to keep it as this. but it is does not have HID bluetooth compatibility. any plans for the future to have this available on this ROM?
