:{GTi9000 DTJP3 modem 4 MIUI!!!}: - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All!!,
I have been looking for awhile now for a good Australian modem for optus network to work with MIUI Rom.
I am on Galnet,s MIUI Rom V4 atm and find that the modems on his thread never do me justice. (I have tried JL2 ect.)
I have not seen a DTJP3 Modem for MIUI. is there one??
So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can whip up a optus modem to use with the MIUI ROM. So I could flash it in CWM. I have tried to look into it but my knowledge is limited..
I will upload the latest stock Modem for optus network being DTJP3. Froyo based
edit: sorry wouldn't let me upload 12mb file but found a download link with DTJP3Modem.bin inside!
BIT OF A FIX: but still not a fast signal pick up! I Think it's something with MIUI ROM That has slow connection and Battery drain. Also was out and about yesterday with the wife and on same network and she could ring out but I had no reception. And I was on DTJP3 Modem. But when I was on Stock samsung in the same area I could get signal
OK,for people on miui having problems finding a modem for the country.
All you have to do is;
- Extract the modem out of your home town Rom
- Open up any modem.zip file from miui with 7zip (Pref. Galnet's modem zips)
- Replace the modem.bin with your home town one.
- Flash in cwm, boot...
That's it!!
For me it was the DTJP3 modem for Optus
Thanks to phalanger for the insight! thumbs up to you!

THanks! I HOPe There is someone that can help!

yep i totally agree

Maybe Codeworkx can help! I hear he is good at this stuff. He made the other modems for galnets miui...

Does Anyone know about good modem for optus network on miui??? and if there is anything else I should know about how to get good signal and battery?
Thanks!

Wifi signal recieved is lower than before custom rom , how to improve please ?

Hi , my router is working very well , but since i have updated to a custom firmware , using wifi analyzer on my phone i can clearly see the signal is around one third lower than before my custom firmware (juwes 5.2 XXJVQ from a fresh install , semaphore kernal 1.3.2).
what can i try to do to improve my phones reception ability for wifi ? reflash certain parts , edit files , tweaks etc.
like i say router has not changed , my other phones all register with there original strong signal using wifi analyzer from the market place.
i'm new to odin , so if files need to be flashed , please let me know which file and which section it goes in please , i'm happy to experiment , but not sure what i should be experimenting with
T.Y
Try experimenting with different kernels as they contain the wifi bits and pieces
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
It also happens to me (darky rom 10.1) w/ 2.3.3
thank you for your reply , but could you give me a bit of a clue as to what to do and how to experiment ? so i be downloading different stock roms and flashing the modem only onto my custom rom ?
Get Wi-fi Analyzer and have a look at the signal strength as you flash different modems.
Perka's stash is a good place to find CWM packages of modems only.

[Q] Unlocked & Rooted Samsung Galaxy S I9000 signal issue

Hello, I recently bought an unlocked and rooted galaxy s i9000 from someone. Its running Dark Knight 5.5 and Devil Kernal. I have little to no network signal, wifi works great though. It has a rogers sim card in it that works fine in other phones. I have never had a connection issue and no matter where I go with this phone I have extremely bad service ! If anyone has some ideas that would be appreciated.
Thanks
Could I just flash another modem too it , one that might give it better signal?

What baseband version are you on?
System Settings - About phone - Baseband version.
I am having signal issues also.
I get maybe 2 bars then none then none sometimes.
I am running Team ISGS ICS4.0.4
This is really unreliable now.
My phone started doing it on Rel 4.2.
I used the KG3 modem and I now get FULL bars.
Here is a list of modems:

Sorry dude, i clicked the thank-you button by mistake. Have a freebie on me.
JW4 doesn't work in Canada. Here we need 850 & 1900, therefore KG3.
Flash the kernel again
I guess its due to the kernel.Dlash the rom.See to that you clear the Dalvik Cache too:angel::angel:

[Q] costum roms and slow wifi speed?

this thing bugs me a lot. why costum gb roms have slow wifi speed? i tried cyanogenmod 7 - slow wifi, then tried cm9 - wifi is ok. but games are very laggy so i'm back at gb with gamerz rom but wifi is slower again, but acceptable. so i'm thinking about restoring original wifi drivers/settings to have normal speed wifi but i don't know is it possible and which files i need to overwrite. to mention i don't have slow wifi, it's 1 MB/sec download, and it needs a few secs to load google, when i'm at ics or stock gb it loads instantly.

Its strange you should mention this as I only got this phone today and I flashed a custom rom and my hsdpa speeds were awful , like 15 k a second max, I tried a few others same result, im now back on stock and its flying, i know it isn't WiFi but its got to be related in weird way !
Custom Rom uses modem that might not always be the best for your region. If you think your stock Rom has better speed, try to download the modem file for that rom and flash it after you flash the custom rom.

Yes I think that must be true ,I found some interesting information and modem files here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548815&page=46 its seems there isn't anything or any problem that somebody hasn't solved lol, I love this site !
ok, i'll try first that modem from nexus s, if it won't work better then i'm going to flash original modem files
edit: it says for ics, cm7/9 and miui. wil it work on gb? i'm not planing to migrate to ics.
edit 2: nope, nexus s modem not working, gives me error.

Yes these are only for cyanogenmod roms and ics I believe, I'm not sure if the modems can be extracted from the original firmware for use with gingerbread but hopefully there will be a guru who can tell us if it can be done and how to do it, maybe there are some modems for 2.3 on here somewhere, I will have a look as this is something I would like as well ! I would migrate to ics but my data speeds are awful on it!

i'm back to stock gb modem. maybe i will try again cm7 with nexus s modem. maybe. now it's near perfect. good network signal, fast wifi, and most games don't lag. nice.
only thing that lure me back to cm7 is bottom status bar. i like that.

[Q] Cyanogen mod and modem.bin

Hi all,
owner of an old Galaxy S GT-i9000.
I've installed CyanogenMod 10.1-20130501-nightly-galaxysmtd directly from old standard Samsung installation.
It works fine (Apollo have some crashes but I can wait a stable version)
But there is a problem about modem.bin file and settings.
My offices are partially shielded so with the standard Samsung OS the modem signal go up and down like a yoyo but works (a lot of patience) depending also from position (no openable Windows ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif )
With the CyanogenMod (also with stable version and not only with nightly) the line don't exist ...
Not only but if I go along the street the line is off ... I must restart the phone and all works with good performances.
I'm thinking that the modem.bin in CyanogenMod is for a different country of mine.
I'm in Italy and my provider is Wind.
Maybe there is a better (older?) version of modem.bin for Italy & Wind?
So I can install it via Odin in the phone or insert the zip file in internal SD and load it in recovery mode.
Any suggestion is accepted ... I can also testing several versions if it is necessary
Please an help is appreciated ...
Hi...I would suggest you to download getril from the market and check if your ril and baseband versions match...if not you can have some pretty bad problems when it comes to reception.
Also when ril and baseband don't match you can get the, i think it was the jvu ril from the app itself....then flash the jvu modem from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870460
Another thing that could be is, that the 3g reception in your area is a bit weak....try to force 2g networks and check if it is getting better for you

The reception 3g or 2g is weak because the building is "shielded" (many iron and iron gates so it seems a faraday's cage) ...
I'll try to dl the app you suggest me and I try to use the jvu modem version ... the std should be the jw4 ...
thank a lot I'll give you all feedback
help me plzz...
i upgraded my galaxy s to ics from gingerbread (jw4) and install cyanogenmod 9 rom now i m nt satisfied with ics and got stuck.. i want to get back to gingerbread ....anyone plz help me
