[Q] ROOT Motorola Droid (Verizon) - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

This is my 1st time rooting a Verizon Droid & I don't want to brick the phone. So wanted to ask the experts/experienced users before rooting, as there seems to be several different ways to root.
Motorola Droid/A855 with Android 2.2/FRG22D.
Q1. Best/safest/easiest way to root this phone? Can you also link to the step-by-step guide that is available for the specific method you suggest.
Q2. What rooted/modded ROM's are available for this specific phone? Please provide link.
Thank you for any help.

[Q] Custom ROMS?

Im confused, I have a droid incredible 2 and have been following this device as well as my Dinc2. There is no permanent root solution that I can find for either phone. And yet if I visit the android development section of this forum I see custom roms and such. Are there unlocked versions of the Incredible S? Im sorry to sound stupid, I am not new to rooting, I have rooted my T-mobile G2, friends Droid X and Droid 2. But I am really confused as to what is going on.
You need to have the phone set to S-OFF with a XTC-Clips first, then you can Root it and install a custom ROM.

[Q] Unlock Captivate

Hello to All
I have a chance to buy two lightly used Samsung Captivates. Locked to AT&T network. Need T-Mobil network.
They are on 2.3.5 Gingerbread and untouched by mods.
I have tried one of the unlock services, they have not provided an unlock code after 3 days, does not seem likely they will.
I have read many of the post on this site, but most of it is dated, and a bit more than I need.
My questions are:
Is there a simple method to unlock these phones with out rooting ?
If it has to be rooted, which guide on this site would be the best to use.
Thank you for your help !!

There are quite a few guides around here but as I was searching I stumbled on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/17-02-2013-samsung-network-sim-unlock-t1731931
Worth a try imo!

[Q] Motorola Droid Bionic: Unlock SIM To AT&T From Verizon

I recently acquired a Motorola Droid Bionic from a relative. Their contract ran up and they've upgraded to a Galaxy S4. They are on Verizon and I am on AT&T. I have searched for a way to unlock the SIM so that I can use the phone with an AT&T SIM card. Could someone explain to me how to do this and what I would be losing and gaining by doing this. I am running 4.1.2 and have read that unlocking on Jelly Bean won't work correctly. Please help. Thank you.

That thread contains all of the best information including a link to an updated guide for doing the necessary modifications.
You can get H+ on ATT using the Bionic but not LTE and the radio performance can be sub optimal depending on where you are located.
I suggest you read the last few pages and decide if you want to do the work required which involves several procedures including rooting and editing the NVM with RadioComm.
It all works but none of it can be characterized as simple. Good luck!

Help rooting Moto X 2nd Gen Android 5.1

Hey guys,
I am thinking of rooting my Motorola X 2nd Gen and so far I have found older and more outdated ways of rooting the phone.
I have never done anything like this with phones so I will need some guidance to make sure I don't mess anything up.
I have done some research and have watched many YouTube videos on how to root the phone but many of them show the phone with older versions of Android and in the comments it says that that way of rooting the phone will not work with 5.1. If it is useful, my phone is originally from AT&T and after I finished the two year contract with them I had them unlock it and I am not with Ting. Not sure if that info is necessary but might as well provide as much as I can.
Anyways, my question for you is if there are any guides to root my phone that are current and are proven to work.
I really appreciate your time and your help.
Let me know if I can provide any more information that will help you in helping me!

You need an unlocked bootloader for that.
Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLNja2M6zc0
If you have an AT&T XT1097 and on the Android 5.1 08-01-2016 security patch, there currently is not a way to gain temproot in order to unlock the bootloader. We have to wait for tools like kingroot/kingoroot to be updated.
