My battery status drop significant after unplug from charger. When charge it show 100% full, the moment unplug drop become 81% How to fix this?
i also have the same problem and im getting pretty pissed off, phones plugged in all night, unplug from 100% and it drops to 88%.

It happens to my handset also. This started after upgrading it to 2.3.3 and this behavior i am observing from Day-1 of the update.
The battery drain has increased alot after the update and i am forced to charge the mobile twice atleast in a day.
It is really surprising the big names "SAMSUNG" & "GOOGLE", what they are doing?
Whether the time has come for the GOOGLE to introspect their raise?

I also happened to me, after a few reserch i found that when you install a custom rom, you have to calibrate battery, so it shows and charges acurrately, you can find lots of info in this forum, or you can try with an app called Battery calibration ROOT RIGHTS NEEDED.
the battery drain issue i found an article saying that it happens when uprgading to 2.3.3, it happened to me, it drained 10% an hour in sleep mode, after the fix it drains 0-5% in a 10h sleep mode.
Android OS bug on Gingerbread ROMs
This is the most annoying Samsung/Android bug.
A good few people have been seeing battery drain on Gingerbread. It comes randomly and apparently once it starts the only way to stop it is to reboot... But it comes back after a while
You can identify this drain by checking the Battery Use in Settings : if Android OS is above 20%, often between 40 and 60% of the battery consumption while your phone has been idle most of the time, then that's it.
The good news is that there is a semi-fix found in XDA: 2 system apps are responsible for this leak, here's what to do using Titanium Backup :
Find Software Update & Samsung Account, select them one by one and "Clear Data". Now you need to freeze Software Update (if you have the Pro version of Titanium Backup) or to backup the app and delete it. Since you don't delete the backup, it's like a freeze. (But keep the backup in case you want it back for some obscure reason)
Or simply use the default app manager to clear the data and Root Explorer to backup/delete Software Update.
If the Android OS battery drain comes back after freezing/deleting the 2 apps above then I suggest you read about the app below. You can back it up and delete it as well and see if it improves:
wssyncmlnps.apk (info) - make a backup in case.
But the AOS BUG will probably keep coming because there is no proper fix to it (Google bug fixed on 2.3.4).

Of course you need root access. IT WORKED GREAT FOR ME. I have darkyrom 10.1 w/2.3.3 android. I do recommend to backup Software Update, Samsung account and wssyncmlnps.apk And then delete them. Reboot, and let everything loads correctly. Charge your Phone to 100%, and after a few minutes after, check the battery usage and it should be not draining battery as it was.
It's a gb problem for some of us. In short, when charging hits 100% while the display still shows 100%, the charging actually turns off, but the phone still thinks it's on charge and cpu usage etc can be very very high. The worst I've had is unplugging it in the morning to have it drop to 30%, although around the 80 to 90% is the norm. It should only drop to between 97 to 99% on unplug. That's normal.
Until sammy fixes it it will be a flaw with 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 for some of us.
I'll add, I have a galaxy tab (got it a week ago) and it does not have this problem.

Guys,I own a T Mobile G1 Android 1.6 Phone and recently I’m facing some problems. The problem that appeared recently is with the battery drain. before some days ago the battery of my G1 lasted up to 4-5 days, without using Wireless, GPS, and Bluetooth. If I used the mentioned services normally the battery lasted up to two days. But recently the battery is draining too fast. Within 4 hours the battery goes down less then 15% even I do not use any mentioned services. I keep my phone on standby, without talking a single minute with the phone, not using any service etc, and again it goes down very quick. I took some measures according to HTC instructions how to save the battery but again it does not function. I uninstalled all applications and reset the phone to factory setting by again same thing. Then I searched on the Google some instructions, I tried also that one’s but again it does not function. I always used HTC charger that came with the phone but again same problem. What is the strangest thing that after some days the battery gets back and works perfectly for two weeks, which means I use the phone normally without charging 4-5 days. As I operate very well with the smartphones, Pocket PC’s etc I start analyzing G1 and monitoring very closely why the battery goes down, I monitored for a long time the query under the :About Phone-Battery use- and I see there that Andorid OS is using the battery from 76% up to 85%. Now it came to my mind that something is keeping engaged or it keeps running the Andorid OS always on. Then I suspected that thre my be any virus on my phone, but I installed form Market Flexilis/lookout antivirus application, but there was no virus and again the battery goes very quickly down. I've noticed the same thing on my G1 sometimes there is fast battery drain and it seems associated with Android OS. The percentage is over 70%. I also notice it be associated with the display as well. Could be that there is some process that won't stop running and is using Android OS or it could be that on other occasions the display is not going into sleep mode properly. I wish I knew how to fix these problems but I don't. I just observe them.
The battery issue, is an up and down problem for me. Sometime I can go through it in one day or less, other days it will last me for 2 plus days.
It also could be that the battery need replacing. Who's know.
I just bought a 2nd hand G1 - works just fine. I rooted and installed CM6.1.
My battery drains within 1-2 hours. I've tried various methods of resetting stats, with no luck. How frustrating! I wonder if it's a battery hardware problem or software?

I also faced bad battery life on various roms. Since I'm using COS-DS (android 2.3.3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950765 and the Biffmod kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950765 the phone runs more than 24h when texting and calling. Of course you should apply the 14MB RAM hack in comination with this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139. On standby (everything off, except data and 3g) my G1 runs >48h, before it needs to be plugged in.

Sounds like the basic description of the USB Charging Bug.
The bug triggers if the G1 is using a kernel starting 2.6.35 and onward tree, and charged using the USB instead of AC wall charger.
A couple of option to avoid the super discharge after that (you can use either);
1. Reboot after you unplug the USB charger.
2. Change kernel to one from 2.6.34 tree
You can also visit the Dev sub-forum, there's a thread there discussing the debugging process.
It is so unpredictable for me...I have just got into the habit of a reboot after unplugging USB.
Battery drain on the G1
I have the same problem. Even on standby it drops to less than half of its battery life. Sometimes its worse. today i noticed that the battery percentage was at 84. Next thing I know the phone reboots itself and it displays that it has 1% battery, battery icon empty all in red and LED flashing in red. Then I turn it off connect it to the charger, after a couple of seconds I turn it back on and says its 90 something percent. Could be a virus or just a battery bug,that's my guess. I scanned the phone with Lookout Security and there was no Virus,malware or spyware found.
I want to try different kernels for this battery issue but want to make sure I am installing the right one.
I have CM6.1 with 2.22.23.02 radio and DangerSPL installed. Can I just load any of the kernels built for EBI0?

Not sure if this is a problem with the captivate (Rogers I897) or if it's just a select few, but I noticed last night despite the usb charger being plugged in overnight, once the battery reported full, it stopped charging.
So basically, I got home from work, plugged in my captivate because the battery was rather low (only takes 24 hours of maybe 30 mins to 1h of actual usage before I get below 40%), and it took 4-5 hours to charge completely. When I unplugged it in the morning though, it was already down to 64% with just being idle all night.
So is this normal or should I ask for a replacement battery or something?
There are a lot of posts around here about batterirs dying quickly, and "charge death", but I'm not really sure whats going on with your phone. All I can suggest is that you make sure that you close all apps and stuff before letting it idle, and just see how that goes. I suppose you could just have a bad battery. Are you on a custom ROM or stock? I had problems with battery life when I first flashed to a custom rom, but since then I've switched to serendipity 4.3, I have it undervolted, I keep an eye out with a task manager, and my phone has no problems lasting all day, even while texting a good amount/using it for searches and stuff.
What ROM are you running?
Did you have GPS/Bluetooth/Wireless left on?
There are known issues with certain builds of ROM's causing this issue. If your on a stock ROM and still having this issue? I would take it in to possibly have it warrantied out or at least have the battery replaced.
I haven't ever had an issue with my phone losing a charge while plugged in.
Yeah, stock ROM. I haven't installed any additional task managers, but I usually open it up and kill all tasks when I'm finished with them.
I do keep bluetooth and GPS off at all times, but I leave wifi on overnight because I didn't think the battery would stop charging entirely once it was full. I've only had the phone a week so I could get it replaced, I just wanted to investigate it a bit to see if it's a common issue or not before I did that.

Settings --> Mobile and Network --> Wifi Settings --> Advanced (soft key) --> When screen turns off
This would turn off wifi after 15 mins of inactivity. This would help save ur battery.
And yes, charge does get cut off when left for extended times, but not right after it says charge full.
Recalibrate your battery/battery stats. This is my method, there are many others though:
1. Charge the phone with the phone ON, until the phone indicates full battery
2. Unplug the charger, replug, continue charging until full battery again (I repeat this 2-3 times)
3. Turn off phone, charge until full battery
4. Unplug the charger, replug, continue charing until full battery again (Again, I repeat 2-3 times)
5. Turn on the phone, let the phone charge yet again.
6. Boot into Android Recovery, delete battery stats (Advance -> Wipe Battery Stats)
flash to firefly. over 24 hours of battery

By default, wifi does get turned off when the screen goes dark and I haven't changed it.
I've also been tring to flash to a new ROM (been trying Android 2.2), but Kies won't load my phone). I think I'll research other methods when I have time.

In most custom 9000 based ROMs, wifi is set to "never off" by default.

Ah! Didn't know that. I'm extremely new to this whole smartphone thing (just got mine a week ago) and haven't actually done any hardcore (stuff that requires flashing and whatnot) customizing yet.

If u r not heavy on data and use it for things like mails and chats, and esp when in an area with no proper 3G coverage, u can switch to EDGE and get out of 3G. 3G sucks more battery compared to EDGE.
So I wasn't able to complete all the steps to kind of fix the battery problem, but I plugged it in to almost 100% (I think it was like 98% or something, I had to go out so I had to unplug it), but when I got back I plugged it in again and let it charge overnight. This morning however, it was still at 100%, and now, about 8.5 hours later, it's only at 73% so I think maybe it just had to normalize it.

Give it some time to normalize. And charge showing 98% when unplugged at 100% is normal.
And yes, seeing 60% battery left after an hour of calls and tasks involving an hour plus of display on after a day's work, apart from push emails, etc (~14 hours standby) isn't so new anymore to me.
Stop watching the battery so closely for about a week and u'll be all set
I was on darkys 8.1 rom with jk4 modem, calibrated the battery one time and I went 18 hours. Starting from 98%
6 hours were phone calls, 1.5 hours of text messaging. 2 hours of power amp . The rest was pretty much just standby/idle time.
Though, I don't get that anymore though.. Jk4 has gone to **** for me. I used to get full signal majority of the time, and for places where other people go no bars, I got one or two. Now its pretty horrible it makes me sad ;(

How I solved my battery drain problem!
Have you tried turning off 3G?
I also had this issue battery drain was huge. It started appearing suddenly one day. Its a very slow process to figure out the culprit. I did a step by step analysis.
1. Found out that battery drain was happening only when 3G was on. Verified this by switching off data network (long press power button to deactivate).
2. Also verified abnormal data usage in my carrier page when I was not using my phone [like - 3G was on and I was watching a movie at a theater].
3. I also saw abnormal battery drain soon after I started Google Maps after a fresh reboot.
4. So I identified the culprit - Google Maps - but was not sure how to solve battery drain [Google Maps restarts, if you kill it].
5. I installed a variety of apps to identify the battery hog. Finally I went for Task Identifier.
6. Task Identifier finally showed me what programs started while my screen was off, etc. And I started noting them. Finally I figured out that Google Maps::BackgroundFriendService was running frequently.
7. A quick search on Google helped me understand that this is about Google Latitude. It searches for your friend's location every now and then - leading to battery drain!!!
8. I opened up Latitude and signed out from it [I guess the sign out option is in Menu -> Privacy].
9. Do not re-open Google Latitude after this - you will get signed in again leading to battery drain.
10. After 2-3 months of search and prodding, I finally figured out the cause of battery drain and fixed it - now I get 2 - 3 days of charge in my battery under normal usage!!

In task manager , on the tab "Summary", click on the "start monitoring" button. Let it monitor the phone over the night. The next morning, there should be 2 files created in your sdcard, one is CPUxxxxx and the other one is battxxxxxx.
The Batxxx tells you when the percentage of the battery at certain time of time. the CPUxxxx will tell you wht applications are running during that period.
When i used it first time, i notice that facebook and lattitude always running - when I stop these 2 tasks; i get a normal drain again.

when I surf for an hour over 2g I losing about 10% batterylife and android reports that my display uses around 90% to 95% of the battery.
display is set to lowest brightness + screen filter.
is that normal? (im guessing it is not).
used dozens of different roms (stock, darky, jims, etc...), same behaviour everywhere.
i already did all the battery stat wiping and whatnot.
is it a faulty battery or display or something?

Sounds normal to me. 10% loss while surfing and 95% display is nothing extraordinary.

i have the same problem too after upgrading to Froyo 2.2.....what i do was turning the data connection off yand you will get 2 days with moderate usage....but oneday i had overcharged my phone (about 8 hours i think) and after that my phone can stay about a day and half with moderate use......btw i already did the 8 hours charge during my first charge long time ago.!...hope this helping

I was given a Z3C from a friend and I am experiencing ridiculous battery drain when idle. The phone discharge at a rate of 6-7% per hour, meaning that at best I have to recharge it at the end of the day.
I had a look on the forum and so far I performed the following:
- factory reset (twice)
- reinstall Lollipop via PC Companion
- restart the phone with the yellow button next to sim card (several times)
- untick "send usage statistics" under file commander
- put on stamina mode (no difference)
I use Nova Launcher.
Last night I left the phone on at 57% and airplane mode at 11pm and went to bed, this morning I woke up at 6.30 and it was off (hence it can't be connectivity).
Better Battery Stats says that the phone is awake 100% of the time when screen is off. Under Power Management the bigger drainer is Play services with 25% now.
On a typical day I only use Gmail and Whatsapp, listen to some music, but no FB, Twitter and so on. I have a pretty lean configuration. Clearly the problem is when Idle.
I don't think this is a matter of Lollipop messing around with my phone but rather something hidden running for no reason.
I used to have a Galaxy S4 and never had a problem with Lollipop, so I am surprised.
How do you think I can find the culprit?
Little update for who is happy to lend a hand on this.
I ran GSam and found out that Android System has a 15% battery consumption. Inside of it, there are multiple packages and most likely the drainer is among them.
Can anyone suggest which packages are safe/possible to disable?

Can't point you exactly to what you're looking for, but here are a couple of points:
1. There's a small problem with Lollipop - it requires updated Google Services, but sometimes the update doesn't go through properly, you can't even initiate it - Play says everything's good. It might be a cause for battery drain. Easiest to check - revert to KitKat, install it, if no drain - then it's Lollipop-specific, if drain - then look further.
2. First installation of the OS after factory reset, with nothing loaded, if there's drain - it comes from HW that's not behaving as expected and SW being somewhere in eternal loop / reading something unexpected. Not much to do here except identify the failing HW (probably not easy) and disable the driver for it.

That sounds complicated. Do you see something clearly wrong in the info I provided above? (i.e. % of battery use, packages that shouldn't be there?)
I have reached a point of frustration that I can hardly bear anymore.
If I remember correctly, it all started last year around Halloween when I first tried out NewMaclaw's CM11 port. I was dissatisfied with the unusually high battery drain and soon returned to stock where everything went back to normal for the following months. Due to my banking app requiring at least Android 4.3, I started experimenting with the available ROMs again in April. Since then my battery life has never returned to an acceptable state again. It doesn't matter what ROM I use, I would never make it through the day.
I always blamed it on the custom ROMs because after returning to stock for the first time, the battery life was decent again. Due to the suspicious behavior of my battery lately, like dropping or gaining several percent at once upon connecting or disconnecting the charger, I went back to stock for the second time the other day, to determine once and for all whether there was something faulty about the battery. And I thought I would have confirmed just that when the battery drained just as fast on stock. So naturally I ordered a brand new battery (manufacturing date May 2015), and hoped for satisfaction at last.
But this phone is just merciless and continues to punish me for reasons that completely elude me. The first day on stock after a full charge, the battery lasted for a mere 23 hours on stand by in AIRPLANE MODE!!! WiFi was enabled, but only for being able to receive text messages on surespot. No other push services were installed. After the second full charge, I flashed the latest CM11 and instantly noticed that the crazy draining hadn't changed. As a final act of despair, I did an advanced wipe to delete everything on the phone except the external SD card. Of course the effort was meaningless, I was down to 16% after only 11 hours with a screen on time of 2 1/2 hours. All I did was browsing with Firefox. No video or audio, just common websites. Today I did the same thing after yet another recharge, and lost 20% battery after 45 minutes. I always set the display brightness to minimum by the way.
So if it's not a faulty battery, then what the heck is it that prevents the battery from operating normally?!? I really tried everything in the process - flashing several different ROMs, going back to Stock, disabling the location and wake up features of Google Play Services, buying a new battery. What else can cause such ridiculous battery drain, and why did it not occur before I started flashing?
Hello, have you tried to debug which apps and kernel wakelocks eats most battery? Try to install betterbatterystats: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809. That might give you some hint what eats your battery.
Thanks for replying. I don't think it is any particular app since the drain occurs even while on TWRP and right after flashing before having installed any apps. It is also the same whether I browse the web with Firefox mobile or send and receive messages with surespot which are the apps that I primarily use most of the time. I'll give your battery stats a try anyway.
