[Q] Any good games that can actually run on the hero? - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Saw a thread way back but it was for the gsm hero I believe, what games do you play on your hero?
Currently tried
Slice it-Very laggy might uninstall
Air Control(lite)- Kinda fun and a good time killer, runs smoothly.
Angry Birds Rio- lags like mad
Going to check out robo defense next

Game dev story runs fine.

Android: It will make you a sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me.

Zenonia 3 is pretty good for me. Little lag but its still very playable.

Quality / addicted games

Hi Peepz!
im a fan of good games, that can waste some time to play.
i just wonder where those game can download for free
those quality one's
like SpaceWars etc..
thanks! and sorry for this nab post =D
Retro Defense, the only game I will play on the G1. It's a little laggy, in comparison to running it on an overclocked droid, or N1, but I've gotten used to it.
I also use NESoid, GENSoid, and other emulators. Besides that I haven't found any other games worth while.
I really like Cestos.
Raging thunder
Raging thunder 2(lil laggy)
asphalt
Zenonia(See here)RPG game, played on my Ipod-touch
Emulators(very fun)
Speedx 3D
light racer 3d

Not sure if you meant that you didnt find any roms worthwhile. Well the latest 2 games that I am playing and worth checking out, Alien Hominid and Warioware for GAMEBOY ADVANCE.
Happy hunting everyone!

asphalt won't run on my g1, if i install asphalt 5, it install aphalt 3 ... what i've to do?
Respectfully, there are a lot good/great games (counting the emus). Android has a lot of fun stuff (but mainly the great emulators).
These games and apps are worthy on my G1 and its app small memory. There are about ten other worthy games, but I am out of space
Thunder 2
Jewellust
3 Point Shootout
Air Attack
Basket Ball
Bit Blocks
Armored Strike
Friction Mobile
Jewels
Papijump
Shoot U!
Sky Force
Solitaire
Salvo
Gensoid
Nesoid
Snesoid
Gboids
Android Arcade
PCE16
UAE4Droid
Segoid
GBCoid
Frodo 64
Jarcade
LightRacer3D!!!
Hope I don't repeat any of the great games already mentioned, here's a couple more:
Droid Mini Golf (Best mini golf game available. Swipe with your finger on screen to shoot ball. Direction and swiping speed determin ball direction and speed. There's even global tournaments where you have to play a certain course on a certain day for world rankings)
Build-a-Lot (I'm surprised at how much I like this sim game)
AirHockey (by jjcgames)
Pobs (I know this game from PC as "Hexagon", it's awesome)
Maejong (better than other free Mahjongg solitaire games, worth the $.99)
Towers (xi-art, beautiful Towers solitaire game)
WordUp! (word seeker)
Mancala (I had never heard of this board game, but it's easy to learn and fun to play)
What the Doodle!? (online pictionary, like iSketch, and with much less cheating than in Sketch Online also for Android)
Backgammon Lite (beautiful)
Toss It (throw crumpled paper balls into a basket with a fan blowing at varying speeds)
AndroMaze (for the programmers among us. "Program" the little android to reach the end of the maze in as little moves as possible)

[Q] (Q) angry birds mod?

so the hero hates angry birds but i was wondering if someone has tweaked it to work well with our device? if anyone has tweaked it could i have a link to download it?
i havent tried tweaking it, but the devs for pandas vs ninjas say it runs better. but then again its LIKE agry birds but NOT angry birds haha
I would try ad disable app and overclocking. Its almost playable at that point lol.
overclocked to what?
The old moded beta of this game runs great on the Hero. As for the new, not so much.
It was done, and pulled from XDA per request by the Angry Bird devs.
Angry Birds Seasons, with the backgrounds turned off and AdFree running, is playable, though not great.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
Angry Birds has never worked well with the Hero and I don't think it will.
It sucks, fun game :\.

Must have games for android for Captivate.

What are some of your must have games for Captivate?
I currently have the angry bird series and beat on my phone
Pocket racing and wild west sheriff
Sent from a rock on fire in the middle of the sea
Hexdefense
Honestly fruit ninja. Sickest game. Just tried it the other day for the first time & I can't stay away from it
Guns n Bros
You guys should check out Cordy - I get a bit of lag at some parts but otherwise runs beautifully on the Captivate. The game itself is very impressive, although there aren't many levels at the moment. Totally free!
Pew pew. And pew pew 2 good stuff.

Spectral Souls - As far as I know the ONLY Strategy JRPG type on the market and IIRC it's a PSP port, but it's very well done and looks and plays amazing.
Game Dev Story - It's very simple but incredibly addicting. I don't know what genre you'd throw this in besides casual, but you take a game company from nothing and turn it to greatness.
Wordsmith - This is my favorite Scrabble clone, I prefer this over Words With Friends and Wordfeud. It just looks better to me and the on the fly score preview is great for those like me who don't care for manual counting.
3 Kingdoms TD - This is an odd game, but amazingly well done and my favorite Tower Defense game at the moment. It gets constantly updated with enough content that you would thing would be charged for, but it's all free (outside the purchase of the game of course). The graphics are great, it has a mildly bizarre storyline and it's very addicting.
Zenonia 2 is a great old school rpg game, Demon Hunter is pretty decent as well.

I concur regarding these two.
Also would have to add:
Radiant HD - Nostalgia at it's finest, harkening back to the days of Space Invaders, with a corny storyline, and relaxing music to go along with it.
Gailardia - Also brings back memories, this time of NES RPG's [namely Dragon Warrior], and has a painful difficulty curve [going from area to area requires several level ups before it's even survivable]. I'd only recommend for the hardcore RPG gamer.
Illusia - Originally an iOS game [had it on my iPod Touch.. don't shoot me for owning one ], and is quite good for a sidescroller RPG. Faintly reminiscent of Maple Story.
Definitely Cordy, Angry Birds, and Words with Friends. I did see that Adult Swim did release Robot Unicorn Attack finally for Android. It is a bit laggy, but still really fun to play.
Mini squadron is alot of fun!
Tap Tap Revenge 4!!
Backbreaker.

Did you try the new version? You can disable the background. It's running very good for me now ... not perfect but it's playable.
Raging Thunder lags like crap. Our Heros dont seem to be made for games or the hardwares are not utilised. The only games that work fine are those crappy 2d games and some 3d ones like, speedx.
paper toss
ninjump
tank hero
steamball
glyder 2 (a bit laggy, but its playable)
hyper jump (doodle jump clone, looks very good)
slice it
geared (doesn´t save the progress sometimes, don´t know why)
SNES Emulator worked also really good for me.
Motoxtreme
Tank Hero
Glow Hockey (didn't show up in market before my ginger rom, though. If it doesn't for you, you could try Air Hockey Speed )
Angry Birds Rio (a lot better than standard)
The FREE Tiger Emulators (Game Boy, Snes osv, makes me regret i bought Gameboid )
I am playing these games on my Hero.
Free Running
Maze
Minesweeper
Roller(lite)
SFCave
UConnect
Pool Master
Backgammon
Chalk Ball Lite
Robo Defense
Space Buster 3D
Glass Destroyer
Angry Frogs(Angry Birds is too laggy for Hero)
Tron Lights (for two players)
YooNinja
Pool break (Pro or Lite) is one of the best game I played on my Hero! This game is so realistic and really smooth, I was surprised that the hero could run a such game!
tank hero
angry birds
fruit ninja (nice game but ><)
angry birds rio works fine and smooth using elelinux7,but angry birds and angry birds season lag like hell,NFS shift also.

What are your favorite games?

I know it's a pretty broad topic but I wanted to see what are some of the communities favorite games.. I never use to play games on my phone until recently and I must say, some can be kind of addicting lol.. I am by no means a "gamer" so that's why I thought it would be nice to get a conversation started regarding people's favorite games
Free or paid, it doesn't matter. If possible, post a Market link to the game your referencing and maybe a little description on why you like it
So, some of my favorite games thus far are pretty general
Battle Bears: Zombies
-I loved this game on my iPod.. The android version is pretty good.. Who doesn't love popping heads off pink bears?
Ninjump
-Simple and addicting. Love the simple UI
Angry Birds
-I don't really know why, but this has to be one of the most addicting games I have ever played..
Well so far those are the only games I've really played.. Your turn!
Asphalt 6, NFS:HP, Riptide GP, GT:Racing, Fingerboard, TrialX2, Spiderman, Minecraft.
