[Q] Used RAM In Overcome - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im Just asking about something ...
I Checked the ram after installing Overcome [ ROM ] ...
It's Always More than [ 220 MB ] From [ 444 MB ] ...
Can someone ex-plane me what i have to do .. ?
It was Like [ 100 MB ] From [ 444 MB ] In Foryno 2.2 ..

it seems this is true for all. you'd rather have the rom using the ram and running smoothly than not being used at all.

Yea. Its normal. Im always at around 240-60. Using more ram puts less stress on cpu.

its easy as hell just install swapper2 from play, run it and click 'on'. in the settings check the safe unmount and remount options to avoid sd mounting problems when you connect the phone to the pc.
Edit: here's a more detailed description, but the point is the same

[Q] what are the best settings for Philz kernel and autokiller memory optimizer?

Hello all , i am on stock 4.0.4 german ixs xxlRk .. i have flashed Philz stock kernel and i was wondering what are the best settings for both battery saving and performance ..I also installed autokiller memory optimizer pro , it does have loads of options and kernel options too , any help with it ? thanks
Sent from an Egyptian GT-N7000 ♥
using any autokiller will make the app to restart again and use more battery. instead use a startup manager like Autostarts or Rom toolbox pro.
hehe thanks .. what about ketnrl settings? cdq or noop or dead line? i set it on demand with maximum 1000 mhz max
Sent from an Egyptian GT-N7000 ♥
See if you wanna kill runnings back apps.then go to settings-developement option-background process-make it to 4.thats it.see the diff in ram usage after this.

[Q] question about ram

Are there any ROMs that use low amount of ram?
At the moment I'm on cm10 jellaxy and my phone uses up 60 percent without any apps running. I want to free up ram so I can play some HD arm games without them crashing such as
N.O.V.A

Any Gingerbread ROM will do. ICS and JB consumes more RAM than GB.
Recommend to Use My REVOLUTiON Ultimate Xperia Edition..
And see the difference..
Any links please?

A little offtopic... how did you manage to run NOVA on ace?
The only realy heavy games i played are the COD like "brothers in Arms" and temple run (they both lagged, and it was almost impossible to turn in temple run [so: not playable])

You have to free up enough ram before playing. Use a task manager and kill all running apps then play. Restart them after you're done.
M on miui gb 0.36...n i gt a min o 125mb free ram if any heavy apps r nt running...try dat...

Their using kernel 3.0.8. What the ROM shows as Memory isn't how much memory the phone has, it's how much memory the kernel makes available.

very nice and cool answer thanks man!
The rest of the ram I guess it is used for Ramdisk or some sort of RAM resident code. (Or thats what I read)

[Q] way to overclock ace to 1 ghz

hello everyone
can someone help me and tell how that is there a way to overclock ace to 1 GHZ
i mean above 921 mhz ace freezes and reboot it happens i every rom i think so please help me and also tell if it is possibe will it be safe
if you know any kernel or rom in which i can do this then please suggest
Well for mine it doesnt reboots and it depends on your kernel. Use fire kernel oc if you are on cm7.2 or aosp. N max it can reach is 998 Mhz . N if hav CM10.1.x or AOKP n similar then u hav da separate tab in settings to overclock. Overclockin leads to battery drain and also heats up the battery so be careful n hit thnx if helpd

Overclocking to a very aggressive value fries your processor. Also as said above, you get less battery life & the device heats up. Sometimes it is not the values but what you get out of the values matters. I recommend not to overclock above 900 MHz. Btw, to answer your question, there's a kernel called the mad kernel ( donno if it still exists , Google to find it) made by madman. I donno if it supports stock or cm7, you'll have look for it yourself.
