I have a Samsung galaxy S i9000 with gingerbread 2.3.4 installed and rooted and nothing else installed.
When i go in to gallery to view my pictures and i swype to go from one to the next one it does not move smooth like it did in froyo it`s not a fluid move its a interrupted movement. Did not have this problem on froyo. i re-installed the os powered off the phone stopped most apps and services but the problem did not go away. Any suggestions ? It did this before and after i rooted it. did it on fresh install of 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 on 2.2 froyo did not had this problem. Any suggestions ? except the one that says go back to froyo ?
Well, just a suggestion, use Picturen Lite or Quickpic.
I know this doesn't actually answers your question, but the stock gallery is not that great.
I use QuickPic. It's without doubt the fastest and least cluttered gallery app out there. It's free but would pay for it! Give it a try

Hi everyone,
I flashed a lot of roms since I bought this phone. They got faster and faster and more stable than I imagined when I was on the 1st firmware JF3. But one problem about the phones laggyness seemed to stay. The Contacts, Messaging, dialer and gallery apps don't load quick enough.Especially contacts... whereas in other phones like Nexus, Iphones, even lower class Androids they load instantly. It is the badly optimized framework or what? The only rom that didn't have this problem was Cyanogen mod beta 3.
Can anyone mod these apps to make them load quicker? Is no one bugged by this ?
Thx.
install lagfix

I'm always on a lagfix. Right now system and data on ext4.this is not the issue I'm speaking of.
Anyone else got any ideas?

Hi XDA-Forums
I have recently upgraded from the official Froyo 2.2.1 version to the official gingerbread 2.3.2 version. It works really good, i like the new design however; The Daily Briefing app is gone!? Both the app itself and the widget. What happend?
Kies told me that everything went as it was supposed to. Not a bad update. When i put the phone in the dock, and the dock app comes up there's a shortcut to the Daily Briefing app which used to take me there (too) but now i dosent work. The music shortcut in there dosent work either.
I shortly after noticing this went on Google and found the app on a site (i was called infoalarm.apk ) however i wont install. Just thinks for a sec and then tells me it cant be installed.
Anybody else with this problem?
What to do?
Samsung app on your phone for downloading the Samsung apps to your phone .

Daily Briefing is a stock app, which you've never needed to download from the Samsung apps -market.
So nope, not possible to download from there.
Are you running gingerbread? If yes, do you still have Daily Briefing?
Am i the only one with this problem?
same issue...thems the breaks.
Same here, no Daily Briefing to be found
Wtf is official 2.3.2?
knowledge is Power. Guard it well.
so where can we get the daily briefing that will work wth gingerbread
Anyone else have problems with the new Opera Mini (v.6.5.1) and Mobile that appeared in Android Market freezing? It's so bad I had to go back to my backup copy of the versions before this. I'm running 2.3.4 Pinnacle 1.3.

uninstall the old version then re install it from market...Thats what I had to do and works fine im using mobile not mini.
Thanks! That seems to have worked for both Operas.
Well, it didn't work. Opera Mobile still freezes. I even moved it from the SD card (where Market installed it) to phone memory. What's bad is it freezes the whole phone so I have to remove the battery.
OK, I uninstalled the new version of Opera Mobile, reinstalled it from Market. Moved it to phone memory in System settings and deleted user data, deleted the contents of all the caches within Opera settings, connected to Opera Link to link my bookmarks. It seems to work fine (for now).
Well, it still freezes. I'm out of ideas.

I found that if I turn off Opera Link, it doesn't freeze. So I turned on Link to get it to sync to load all my bookmarks, then turned it off. Not the ideal solution, but a work around until Opera fixes the bug.
Thanks alot
Probably it's problem from Pinnacle
I use Fasty kj3 or Mosaic 8 and there is no problem.

I was wondering if anyone has successfully ported Gingerbread Stock Applications onto their ICS Phone? I want to bring the stock Clock, Calendar, and Calculator apps from Gingerbread onto my ICS Phone. I love ICS and all, but I think google took a huge step backwards in those specific apps compared to Gingerbread. The clock no longer has a stop watch or timer, the calculator layout from GB was much easier and the history of calculations was quick and simple. And the calendar from GB was just much simpler and easier to use.
If anyone has done this please let me know
Thanks
Are you referring to AOSP gingerbread or Samsung gingerbread? There are ICS ROMs that have some Samsung apps ported. Try Doc's Master ICS

Im talking about just regular stock gingerbread apps, so I guess that would be samsung gingerbread apps. Up until the last few months Ive used stock gingerbread that came with the phone. Couple months ago I rooted my phone and flashed ICS on there and have loved it since, but these apps are the only thing I miss from Gingerbread. If I downloaded Tibu onto my moms Samsung Fascinate (stock, brand new) and backed up those apps as .apk files and copied them over to my phone, would I be able to install them on my phone even though Im using a samsung captivate with aokp milestone 5 flashed? Or would that give me issues?
That makes sense, since stock ICS isn't going to have those apps. As I said, Doc's Master ICS has a lot of those. I'm pretty sure you will have trouble installing them manually. There may be a way that I don't know of though.

Thanks. I might give it a try, I really dont like the ICS versions of those apps.
Hey Bdithug, I was wondering if you found a solution to this issue? I just hate the stock calculator from ICS also, but the one from Gingerbread was great. I have golaucher and APW widgets installed so I'm using their clock and calendar which are pretty good...
Let me know if it worked out for you installing the stock gingerbreag calculator apk onto your ICS phone...
Tx
I tried it. It didnt work. I downloaded apk extractor to send the .apk file from a stock fascinate on gb. when i tried installing the .apk file on my ics cappy it wouldnt let me because of the apps with the same name. so i uninstalled the ics calculator and calendar with tibu, and tried again, and still wouldnt let me. i just i have to resort to a 3rd party app from the market. still dont know why google would have removed features from the calculator app in the first place, thats not usually how updates to apps work. the calendar app for ics is a complete joke. still have not found a quick easy, simple yet attractive calendar app for android.
i have tried Doc's Master ICS, i didnt like it 'cuz i felt it a little unstable, now i'm using Slim ICS, happy whith it, but i was wondering how can i do to install the Samsung Stock Camera APK?? or another one like that???

I run Nostalgia 6.2 and happy with most of the apps. It's based on Slim ICS, but has all the things that I was missing in Slim
I like most of the apps that came with Nostalgia. I did install RealCacl to replace the stock one. RealCal is more of a scientific calculator.
Still getting used to the blue on dark theme. Especially in some html Gmail messages it really gets me
I stuck with aokp and installed acalendar app, easy calculator, and stop watch & timer.
Much better apps than ics stock calendar, calculator and clock

Can Antone out there help me get the Google launcher, gallery and camera working properly? I've tried a few fixes on this site and others for the launcher but none work for me although some HTC one owners are reporting no problems.
When I try open the launcher app it crashes right away. I've changed the defaults and put in a new sys/lib file also but still just crashes on start.
Camera works as well as video but crashes when I try use pano or photos here. The gallery app same. Crashes on start. Please help if u can. Thanks

What ROM/Kernel are you using? Are you rooted? That sounds like the kinda errors I get when I flash a new base without wiping.
I'm rooted but not on a custom ROM. And I didn't flash anything just installed the apk files. It works perfect on my galaxy S2 although the OK Google voice search only worked for a day. But won't work on my one. ?? I really want it on my one though
