Good day masters of the TAB!
Im having issues upon upgrading to gingerbread via kes,
whenever I play music or sometimes just when im browsing it will hang like it was set to do it everytime,
any music/video player would set it to hang.
browsing through dolphin HD and its default browser same result
worse part is it keeps doing the same thing when i hook it up through kies atleast 5 times out of 10.
my current device info is as follows below
Firmware 2.3.3
Baseband ver : P1000DXJPE
Kernel ver : 2.6.35.7
[email protected]#2
Build # GINGERBREAD.DXJPE
Kies: Ver.2.01.11053_99
bought it here in the Philippines it has 3G and was made in vietnam.
Im about ready to chuck this out of the window please don't let that happen
thanks!
The title is cute, but I'm not sure what your issue is. By hang do you mean the tab completely freezes, or does it lag (pauses when you do something like scroll a page)?

At 2.2 [SuperOneClick with OCLF] my phone could play all flash content (in desktop client mode) and even struggle to play 720p flash media although this was fairly jerky.
Since upgrading to 2.2.1 Galaxy S wont play any regular flash content unless specifically designed for mobile it seems. Tried many things to put this right in 2.2.1 but to no success. Even went back to factory defaults.
I'm thinking of going back to 2.2 but would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem at 2.2.1?
I have been able to play flash whenever needed. I have had my browser set so that it runs flash upon demand. I don't know if that had made a difference.
Any specific site your flash failed on?
Sent from sgs, darky's 7.7, using the XDA app.
Have you updated flash player .

iplayer (desktop agent) and 4od play very slowly, unwatchable.
iplayer in mobile view works fine but the quality is relatively poor.
When everything used to work well, flash 'on demand' or 'always on' made no difference. I've also tried different versions of flash 10.1, some work better thhan others but all inferior (by a long way) to before froyo 2.2.1 update
Glad to hear yours is working well. I've since istalled Darky's rom 7.7 and still no dice for me. strange as I've wiped everything and done fresh install.
depending on whether others have got flash media to play well on 2.2.1 then I'll thinking of downgrading to 2.2
Let me know please
So nobody else is having problems with Adobe Flash on 2.2.1
It's just me?
Hi there, my wife and I both have galaxy s, on 2.2.1. both can watch bbciplayer over wifi ok, and we could watch 4od ok, but we think that it was ok at 2.2. and thinking the same as you that maybe the update to 2.2.1 has caused problems with flash.
We have tried all sorts of things.
As you have wiped everything already are you going to try going back to 2.2?
If so how do you do that, any idea?
Let us know how you get on, if we find any other fix we will let you know

Suggest BBC iplayer forum as possible source of help .

Android OS 2.3 coming to Bell Galaxy Tab, Vibrant, Incredible S, Desire Z and ATRIX this Summer
Great news for those Bell customers who have the following Android devices: Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire Z and the Motorola ATRIX… you all will be getting an upgrade to OS 2.3 Gingerbread this Summer. However, it seems that the Tab will be receive 2.3 today and the Galaxy S Vibrant will receive 2.3 sometime “Early Summer”, while the Incredible S will be graced with it “Mid Summer” and finally the others are pegged for “Late Summer”. Nice work.
(Thanks Tipster!)
Good to know... i wonder if i should restock to froyo then and run kies on my tab to see if i get the update....
I have stock JJ7 and I still get the message that this version of the device cannot be updated when I connect to Kies ver 2.0.1.11053_99 so I would be too quick to restock.
But I see if I follow the Bell link there is a version _99_3 so I'll try installing that. I always worry when I update Kies that it will stop seeing my devices....
Saw the tab still same message

Ahh, thats good to know...
If i hadn't done my upgrading since January, i'd be inclined to try.
There was a thread thats been around since January asking for the stock JJ7 version of the tab... I got it, but haven't tried to use it... If you ever do restock (clean out your tab to original factory settings), any chance you would be able to do a rotobackup?
If not i understand... its a lot to ask.
I remember you from the galaxys forums, our GalaxyS phones died nearly the same time. .. lol..
Thanks CASz!
Would be kickass if you could do a Rotohammer backup of the new Gingerbread too, see what improvements it has over the older releases...
Cheers...
My galaxy S did come back and I'm running stock Froyo on it How do you do a Rotohammer backup? I really like my tab the way it is set up now but saying that is probably the kiss of death or something

issues with video playback after official rom upgrade
I upgraded my bell galaxy tab to the officiHi,al gingerbread rom last week and now I have an issue.
The built in app used to play most of my videos in the player but now after the upgrade no videos seem to play in the app. I have tried third party apps but they seem to choke on videos that played fine before. Does any one have any suggestions or has any one else experienced this after an upgrade to gingerbread? It definitely sucks!

Any chance you could tell us the version of the GB rom from Bell?
Thanks!

Hi,
So as soon as I heard the news that there was a date set for the galaxy tab upgrade with Bell I just kept connecting to Kies.
The info for the rom is:
Firmware version: 2.3.3
baseband version P1000MUGKF6
Kernal version 2.6.35.7
build number GingerbreadUGKF6
Please let me know if you would like to know anything further. As a note I did have issues after the upgrade. First it appear my security software was causing issues and the unit would turn the screen off and not come back. Removing avg and lookout fixed this. Then I had issues with some apps like music but deleting data under manage applications corrected that. Same thing with email app so I had to delete data and re setup. Only real issue now is lost codecs it seems in video player it seems.
Finally there are some new apps like pulse news and sketch memo.

Judging by your posted build number you are still Froyo (2.2.x). Gingerbread is 2.3.x. Unless this was a typo on your part.

I'm guessing its a typo as the build number indicates gingerbread .
Thanks for the info jr97ai...
I'm am curious... is there a phone app on it? How do you find 3g with it?
I'm using overcome jupiter right now and really enjoy the extra capabilities with it.
Thanks.

Thanks again for the info.. appreciate it!
Curious though... have you tried to re-copy the videos back to your tab and see if that helps?

Hi sorry about the typo on the build. In regards to 3g I recently started having service issues but after this upgrade the issues are less frequent. It could be a coincidence as they told me there was a network issue but even right after the upgrade it was better. No phone app unfortunately. I have not tried copying the videos back but before I was able to play these videos without conversion. I am going to try any ways. Thanks for suggestion. I am hoping to hear if anyone else has the same issue.
Hey guys
Hope you can help me out here, getting really annoyed
my optimus 2x lost all connection to the mobile network so thought it would be a good time to upgrade.
And so i did to this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264721
before i installed the rom i updated my BB to 1035.21_20110725
Installation went smoothly (after 2 hours of trying and i remembered that i had forgot to convert to ext3)
Everything seemed fantastic. Keyword here is SEEMED.
MY textmessages (sms) are ****ed, sometimes i get messages from ppl 3-4 hours AFTER they sent them, and ppl sometimes recieve 2-3-4 of the same message from me.
The phone part can sometimes lock up, the signal looks good but when i try to call it never gets a line out or something like it.
Then i tried to update my RIL just in case, updated it to 0725 (v20c europe leaked gingerbread) using LG Getril app, hoping that might help. Thought it did, but alas, NO!
So guys, i really need some help here, im completely lost, annoyed and close to throwing a fit over this piece of crap phone. Never buying LG again thats for sure.
Hope you guys can help me getting this to work.
Sincerely Kim
Country: Denmark
System info:
LG-P990
android version: 2.3.4
baseband: 1035.21_20110725
Kernel ver. 2.6.32.9
Build number: GRJ22
LGE Ver. LGP990-V20e
This is more than likely a problem with your provider, not your phone.
To make absolute sure, you should smartflash back to a completely stock, stable version like 10D and see what happens to your SMSs then.
Nothing else can be done until you test it under stable conditions.
I dont think the problem is with the provider, but i have indeed tested like you said.
Flashed 622 BB and installed modaco FR19 2.2 rom
NO problems at all now.
Very weird.
Hi everyone,
i searched on the forum before write this post, I hope this is the right section.
I updated my galaxy to 2.3.5 (I9000NEJVB, 2.6.35.7-I9000NEJVK-CL649158) starting from 2.2 with Samsung kies.
After this operation the phone works a lot better, but a serius problem is started to be present (always reproducible) with bluetooth.
In 2.2 version I only used one time the bluetooth, with a wireless mini keyboard. It's the only item i've paired.
After the firmware upgrade, when i start the bluetooth, android crashs and restarts cyclically: crash, restart, take network, scan media and crash.
Also removing the battery the cicle remain the same, because when i startup it remembers the bluetooth conf to be on.
If i try to switch bluetooth off in the few second when you can operate the phone, the bluetooth doesn't reach to be switch off .
The only way I found to break the cycle is connect to te pc in debug mode, and wait (if it comes) a popup screen with the confirmation request to turn off immediately the bluetooth, and fortunately this opearation works.
But sometimes I waited more than 10 minutes, with dozens of reboots, one every 5-10 seconds.
On http pastebin dot com slash rFvD81iN you can find the debug log, and the log starts few seconds befere i switched the bluetooth on.
I tried to remove the files in /etc/bluetooth as suggested in one post, but the problem is still present (now the folder is empty, there are not 'grey' paired devices in the list of bluetooth settings; the log was taken when the paired device was in the list).
Can anyone tell me how can I solve this issue? I can use all the feature of the phone, when bluetooth is off, otherwise it became unusable, and I have difficult to recover it.
thanks a lot,
regards
Francesco
I'm having the exact same problem (also on galaxy s i9000). Also just upgraded to android 2.3.5 from version 2.2. I managed to get out of the cylce of crashing eventually after about 10 cycles the phone actually booted sucessfully. I was then able to turn off bluetooth. Re-activating bluetooth then caused the crash cycle again. Oddley, it has now stopped crashing but I can't conect bluetooth properly to my iControl Pad device, now it just says it's paired but not conected. However, I fear the crashing cycle could begin again at anytime I try and use bluetooth.
My bluetooth worked fine as well as my iControl device on version 2.1, only issue was it lagged a lot!
I have the exact same problem, but with Galaxy SII (i9100).
I have Romanian Vodafone Galaxy SII with official software. I upgraded via Kies from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 and everytime I turn on Bluetooth Android goes through successive crash-restart cycles. During every cycle, BT seems to be on and even if I try to turn BT off, nothing hapens. After a 8-10 cycles, at some point, randomly as far as I can see, it starts normally with Bluetooth turned off.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Razvan
thanks nickmaymusic and razvancd, I'm surprised no one have any indication to how the problem can be adressed.
Anyway in my case the cycles continue for many minutes, and sometimes the phone became unusable.
I think to reflash the phone with odin, but I was try to found another solution, i need the bluetooth.
Try installing Android 2.3.6 using Odin. It's easier with Odin than using Kies.
I also have the same symptoms on Galaxy S2 Android 2.3.5 and Baseband I9100XXKI4 with Kernel version 2.6.35.7.I9100JPKJ2-CL655700 [email protected]#2 Build Number: GINGERBREAD.JPKJ2
This was upgraded via Kies in the UK in Dec 2011.
Bluetooth is effectively unusable and the device simply reboots repeatedly. I have managed to catch the unit during media scan stage and switch off bluetooth and this seems to (if lucky timing) allow the device to fully boot and remain stable.
In my view this is a high priority bug and the Android community really need to solve it quickly to preserve the reputation of an otherwise strong O/S.
Flash a newer relase with odin and the semaphore kernel!
im having problems with my 3g on my phone its a samsung galaxy s 2 gt i9100 and version 2.3.3
it keeps turning on and of randomly for no reason some times it just goes of and other times it actually deactivates itself. ive removed juice defender which i thought was the cause but its still switching on and of randomly somtimes it will last for a hour or so other times it wil go on and of every 5 mins.
sometimes i can simply switch the data mode on and of and that works but most times i have to reboot the phone and everytime i reboot it the internet is back on.
what could be causing this its driving me made as i use my phone as a router most of the time. i know its not the network im on because it happens in every country i go to on a new sim.
is there a simple solution is it a android fault or samsung fault?
anyone have a solution to this as i really like my samsung phone but this problem is really annoying.

anybody else get this problem with a samsung or android phone ?
I don't own a 9100 but a 9001 (SGS Plus). The 2.3.3 firmware for my device gave me the exact same issue. I solved it by updating to 2.3.6. But you would need to ask someone who is more familiar with the S2 which ROM ist best as I don't know those.

thanks for the reply now how easy is it to update the phone it says there is no update avalibile when i try to check for updates.
How easy is it to do this rom thing and flashing id need a step by step guide id rather just be able to update it with the click of one button.
i assume you havn't rooted/flashed before? if not, either get into a decent wifi area and update your phone through the settings (that worked for my friends galaxy ace) or see if theres an update through samsungs own software "Kies"
personally i think the 3g issue seems to fall on samsungs side of things but i could be wrong,
no i havent rooted or flashed before. When i try to update in the phone info check for updates it says there is none im currently in the uae is the update done by the network or by samsung. Ive never used kies either. Ill have a look at it i thought kies was just another form of wifi.
