Just thought i would let the captivate community know about the new Google market interface in case you dint see it:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/12/google-updating-android-market-app-on-phones-adding-movies-and/
And thanks to some guy named Wesley for the apk link:
http://www.multiupload.com/HBGM27MVF4
Tested working on Apex 8.2 but only the apps/games pages not books or movies but that is probably because i am in Canada not the usa
Edit: 2.0.27 was released a few days ago here is the link to the thread on that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180092
yup works nice here too...Mosaic V
I put the apk in the post, not from me, got it from flimsy888
I can also vouch for Mosaic V. Works and looks great.

Wow, such a great improvement. Way faster than that previous piece of crap. Actually lets you choose your google account you want to use. Didn't see changelogs? Maybe just overlooked it. Either way, don't wait for the push, download the apk yourself, well worth it!

Working just fine on CM7. Kinda makes me feel like i'm on WP7 though lol. Very smooth, flashy too. I like it lol.
Here's what video rentals looks like. Pretty much all products on market look this way. Featured tab is where it's at though.

Changelogs are above the app descriptions listed as "What's New" just under the "Rate & Review" section. Much easier to find than expanding the info & scrolling all the way down like previously

put it on your sd card then open it in a file manager if you dont have one download astro from the market. if you are on stock at&t then this is technically sideloading and you will either have to enable sideloading (search in general or dev) or flash a custom rom
just download and select open. installs as an application so you dont have to boot into recovery
Force closes for me running cm7 nightly.

While the movies thing is nice, Google will blacklist your device from playing your rental or movie download if you are rooted. They'll take your money happily though and not tell you this til after you bought it.

I've been playing with this player a few days now and it seems to be working pretty damn well for a leaked version. I found it off google when it was leaked. The UI is amazing
I saw it come up in the epic 4g section when i made this post. I did a search and couldn't find it in the captivate theme/app section so I'd thought I post it here. Enjoy.

from what iv read in the nexus s forum the best way is to adb push it and also delete or move the old music.apk. they are getting a lot of force closes over there if not done correctly so it could be hit or miss for now.

Yes... how are you supposed to sync with your pc library? I have some music on my card but its not finding anything now. I would also like that album view but it doesnt display like the screenshots you posted.

I believe it's supposed to sync with Google's cloud system so you don't have to have your music with you but still be able to listen to it.

I am getting tired of some of the quality apps not showing up in my Nook Market. I am using CM7.
eBay, Gowalla, Amazon, now CNN (and a few others) do not show up. I have to Bluetooth them over from my phone to get them installed (and even then it's a pain when they have an update).
Anyhow, will this ever be fixed? Can the dev's somehow fool the market into beleiving that the Nook meets all of the requirements so that all of the basic missing apps show up?
Just curious if there is ANY hope in the future on this....
I believe i see the problem. I went onto the web market, and looked at the permissions, and i think it all comes down to them requiring this:
"# Hardware controls:
take pictures and videos"
Somehow, you would have to make the nook tell the market that it can take pictures/video, which should then make it compatible. I don't know how easy this is though, so i will leave it to a dev..

There are 5 or 6 apps I use on my Droid (1) that I cannot locate in the market on my NC because of this camera permission. VERY FRUSTRATING! I'm sure the devs will create a workaround for this eventually (i hope!)...

Well, yeah it'd be nice if they could just disable the camera feature. Apps crash if you force 'em and they try to use the camera, so caveat emptor

I didnt try the CNN one yet (I tried it on my phone and it was ok, but nothing like the HC on the Xoom version) but I got Amazon on my nook with Cm7 without any problem, then loaded all my apps that I had from my phone.
I loaded it by going to Amazon.com and loggin in, then it loaded to my device pretty easy (maybe one more step, but easy).
Battery on Nightly 40 was not good, i left it at 64% last night and when got home from work it was 8%. Waiting for the recharge now and then will load #41 and see if anything is better. Sorry for the long Ramble on the amazon question.

The eBay, Amazon, and Gowalla apps are all on the amazon market, have to tryed to download from there? dunno if it was a fluke for me, but i just Odin'd EG22 (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184134) and searched Netflix in the stock marketplace app. Found that it wasn't blocked from the epic anymore. yeah, the app is downloadable from the market and it does work on my Epic running SRF 1.2 atop Genocide 1.1. the overall responsiveness is a bit sluggish, and only being able to access my instant queue is really annoying - you'd think an official Netflix app could have an actual means of managing you DVD queued - but streaming video absolutely works.
thanks, tried it out and works like a charm.
For some reason Netflix still has the poor quality buttons at the top of the app. I'm not sure if its suppose to be like that, but has anyone experienced that?
its not a big deal, just curious.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
The app buttons stink. But even the website buttons look screwy sometimes on Chrome. I think it's just Netflix not keeping their tech up to snuff. Maybe that's why they are changing the rates on their plans.
So I downloaded netflix from the market, and it says in the list of supported devices that the HTC Thunderbolt is one. Now it does install and accepts your username password, you can see your qeue and it attemps to play the vid, but fails with a DRM required message. any one else seeing this? if you search for it it will not appear, but if you select apps, all apps, free apps then scroll down its listed. click install and try to enjoy a mostly usable app.

Netflix does NOT need GB to function, it appears as if it needs it for the TBolt but not overall. That being said they made Droid Bionic support available so take everything with a grain of salt. Maybe GB will be coming soon and rather than fix issues with the TBolt again soon they figured set it up for GB and users can use it then (and root users now ).
