Ya this keyboard is amazing.
Sent over Al Gore's internet via a rooted Thunderbolt.
Am I missing something?
This lagged like hell on my TB and has no editing KB or one with convenient numbers.
Is there a swipe gesture to bring up other stuff or something like in swype?

Not sure what your referring to but i know with the tb when you double tap on a word to get the other words to pop up, the copy paste and input pop up opens also..
Blocking the words Swype is suggesting..
when you Swype with this keyboard it leaves a list of words to choose from.. no double tapping needed.

Edit: pros survives reboot, you can use the stock messaging app ( spacing and auto caps work)
Cons: no editing keyboard, you'll need to use the stock editing. (Long press on a word and use the window to get to the letter you want or use the pointer and drag to the spot you need to edit)
With the day of use I have in I'm pretty impressed there aren't any bugs. and it seems to have learned my words already. And if it doesn't the list above that it builds scrolls and has had the correct word in it.
I'm now used to the stock editing, where before I would ignore it and thought it was redundant. It is easy to use and I don't see this as a fault

where can i find this keyboard?
In the market.. flex t9
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Not to sound cheap or anything but 5 dollars is a little much for a keyboard.

I've been using flex T9 for nearly a month. Push the flame icon for text to speech. I love it!

I can't see how you could call it warez if you can pull the apk from a dump. Sure, it's in the market but why spend 5 damn dollars on it if you can get it from the double shot rom. Makes no sense to me. Glad I found this thread before the apk got pulled.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Just downloaded the apk will post it when my computer boots up since it is readily available for free.
Edit: Just attached the file. Obviously if any mods believe this to be against some sort of license feel free to take it down just believe since: Rom = Free, File is inside Rom, File (Should) = Free.

ahhh lame, bought the stupid thing lastnight.......... o well thanks though
Speech to text don't work and free keyboard a little buggy. Better than swype. Buying app to support developer. Need someone to start theming!

Hey all,
Pretty into,my new D3 so far, but I'm not thrilled with Moto's stock SMS app. I'd like to use the go or enter keys to send, and possibly a nicer looking chat thread. Maybe with pictures for the contacts. What are you guys using?
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Handcent sms

Google Voice
I like the stock one.. just think the send button and the new paragraph buttons should be switched.

I've been using Handcent since I first got my OG Droid and still am on the D3. It is much better than the stock app.
I've been using the CM7 MMS app

Get Handcent and the Darkness theme for it. It's money!
I use GO SMS PRO and it works well. Made my own dark theme using the theme editor. It's free and has no ads like Handcent. Plus I feel like the settings are more organized and look more stock. Handcent is a little too colorful and iPhone-y for me.
Another GoSMS user here. Loving the experience so far.

Thanks, guys. Will be trying GoSMS tonight. I tried handcent in the past, but I just didn't like the look and theming was a hassle. Keep it coming if you have any more suggestions.
Don't forget to download the Theme Maker. You can use any template and redesign the conversation windows to your likings. It's too bad it doesn't let you change everything, but find a good template to start on and you should be satisfied with the results.
I'm sorry, but Handcent looks like crap. All the themes are low res and poorly done.
I'm using CM7 2.3.5 AOSP mms
Yep

Gosms always displays wrong timestamps for me. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

same for me, but i notice with the droid3, when i select a background image for the msg conversations my choices are
1: I chose gallery and it gives me a POS blurry image.
or 2: astro filemanager lets me crop the image but it dosnt show and it changes my home screen bg
is there any fix for this??? or has anyone found a better app?
When I type in txt the "n's" gets left out, sometimes. A "space" is in place of the N. Annoying.
Another vote for GO SMS. Also check out the Transparent Space Theme for Go Sms (And also for Go Launcher EX)

The N is right above the Space. You're probably hitting the wrong button...
I am also having this problem. only thing keeping me from using gosms

Hi, I'm on liquid smooth ICS and whenever I get SMS with smiley face, it converts it to android smileys.. I prefer just the straight up text.. How do I disable the auto convert? Thanks!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
But why would you want to do that?
Unless the icons are made in such a way that they are not recognizable.
They're ugly as death.

I removed Visual Voicemail and I'd like a dialer that doesn't have that butoon, or one that would link to google voice instead. I know the holics dialer doesn't have that issue, but I was going through the holics rom, can't figure out which APK I need to replace, and I don't know that it would work or not. Any suggestions?

Using root explorer I cut and replaced the htcdialer.apk and my phone process kept crashing. Why?
EDIT: A reboot fixed the issue, but now i Have no dialer. WTF?
Did you install the apk or did you swap it?
I swapped it. I got it fixed using nandroid but it's the stock one with the stupid visual voice mail button

If you're swapping this apk, make sure you're also setting permissions to RW/R/R. That said, I found the .smali method that's calling VVM, I'm trying to figure out if I can make it launch Google Voice instead. Probably not that smart though.
Edit: Turns out I am that smart. I got it to launch Google Voice, but it launches to a blank screen, rather than your VM Inbox...working on it though. I'll figure it out..
Edit 2: Got it launching to GV Inbox. Changing the icon now.
Here is a flashable package for a modded HtcDialer.apk that includes the following changes:
-ATT VVM icon changed to GV icon
-GV icon launches GV inbox
I'd recommend a backup first... but I have confirmed it working for me

okay, i had my iphone4s for a few years, and the keyboard was GREAT. the keyboard on my new htc one is decent, but it doesnt seem as accurate and sensitive. maybe its just cause its the stock keyboard? is there a better keyboard out there, or are they pretty much all the same?
I'm using swift key

Stock android 4.2 keyboard. It has swype like features, but when you want to type instead of swyping it is very accurate
Swiftkey....hands down
Try Kii keyboard from the market just started using it and it's great of course my opinion

SwiftKey

It comes down to personal preference. The aosp keyboard and swiftkey seem to be the most popular. I own swiftkey but I prefer using the aosp keyboard.
I use to be a huge fan of swype now all I use is SwiftKey.
Swype makes life so easy. Cut, paste, select all, capitalize etc.. can be done in a second. Can also text and drive with one hand accurately!

I have always been happy with smart keyboard and SwiftKey. I have been using the stock HTC keyboard and I think it's great since they have a Smile key now.
I also own Swiftkey but actually now prefer the stock keyboard.

As someone coming from an iphone, I tried them all, sense, jb, swype, swiftkey, kii, etc.
The closest you'll get is thumb keyboard 4 after a few tweaks.
Darn right SwiftKey, especially now with the flow action
Sent from my HTCONE
I've been using thumb keyboard 4 for awhile now....I'd probably be happy w/ the stock keyboard if it had a autospace
I'm using Swype. Every time I try to use a different keyboard I go back to Swype in a few days.

SwiftKey here. The flow doesn't always work as good as I'd like, but the predictive text saves me a lot of time. Always end up back on it and worth the money imo.
SwiftKey or Stock JB Keyboard from Android. HTC keyboard is okay, but can't beat the two reference... IMO.
I'm using SwiftKey currently.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
The general consensus in the Android community is that SwiftKey is the best keyboard in the land, but I'm a Swype fanatic myself. I tried SwiftKey flow and it just wasn't as good imo, but ymmv.
Swiftkey, absolutely love the blue neon theme.
