Hi, I'm sorry for my bad English
by the way, I've tried installing few Android versions and I have some questions
why some Android versions have some files with the same name in the same folder of the package I download?
the files that in the other versions are in the folder "npkinstall" are in the root folder and when I try copying the files in the SDcard it says that there are some files with the same name and I can't keep them both (startup and zImage) and so I can't install nothing
and when I finally find how to install android (3 different versions, both fat32 and ext2) it continues freezing...
and another thing...i have no the power button (is not my fault) and when the screen locks by itself I don't know if I can't unlock it cause I have to do it with the power button or I can't do it using the call end button only cause it is freezed...

First of all format ur SDcard and then make the partitions! and assign the size according to the instructions!!!
Or can you provide me the link which ROM u r trying?/
Now I've tried this one and it works finally!!!
but obviously I have another question...can I install further languages? It has only english and spanish!!!

the problem of the language...I've still the problem with the power button and the phone completely blocked...
I don't know if it is android that freezes or only the phon that waits for the power button before unlocking...
**Now I know wich is the problem...the keyboard freezes...if I call my number from another phon it unlocks the screen but not the hardkeys...so I'm blocked in the call log screen...I've seen that I'm not the only one with this problem in the thread I've linked yesterday...anyone knows if there's a solution?

That been said I did not install new apps, copied new files, etc...
Still, I tried to search for any unusual bigger file but found nothing.
Tried a hard reset but it remained the same.
So my final approach would be upgrading to a new rom/downgrading to the latest official rom.
Guess what, since then I can't seem to connect to ActiveSync, Windows still recognizes the device, ActiveSync tries to connect to device but with no success.
I've read the hole wiki, and searched the forums but found nothing.
Is there a way to do some kind of full format? Or is there a way to upgrade the rom without ActiveSync?
Any advice?

You can format the storage by using the hard reset method...
Power Button + Reset Pin
Before ROM didgits appear on screen hold down Camera + Record buttons until options appear on screen...
Use Record button to move to Format Storage option... Use Camera button to change to yes... (You should also format the Registry Hive to get all the way back to the base ROM state)
Press the Mail button to accept...
Your screen will turn white while the format takes place then you'll boot as normal...

I got stuck on this situation for many days. I also saw some people also had the same problem. But seem that still no solution.
I downloaded the lastest XDAndroid (FRX06 25/03/2011), do exactly like tutorial, copy startup.txt to root, then run haret.exe. But there's a board of Booting Linux appeared, it finished in some seconds, then double vibrate and mobile freeze (without any code line or something like that).
Please need help asap.

the camera should work with the bundles, but if not try updating to the newest rootfs, and zimange and modules
does the winmo rom affect to android?

Ok before we get started i must told you im no Pro so if it doesnt work dont kill me
I've installed the shadowmod b6 gingerbread 2.3 on my milestone.
Everything works great except one thing, GPS.
After many tries i came to a solution.
First off all my way isnt easy so i try to explain with my words.
1.Download GAPPS, im new so i cant post links find it in google,
gapps-gb-20110503-signed.zip
2.This is the easy way, open the zip with winrar or something else, than go to system (gapps-gb-20110503-signed.zip\system) there is a folder called app,
delete this folder without extracting the archive. (in winrar mark the folder and press DEL)
(we do so because I have updated the hole gapps with the app folder, after that my market wont work anymore, so i have to find any app in gapp and replace them with the original shadowmod app)
3.To update the zip file you need open recovery (my way), put the zip file into the openrecovery updates folder on your sd card and than simply start your phone into recovery mod (hold down camery button and power for 5 seconds release them and slide your keyboard to navigate, use openrecovery and go to apply update, now apply the gapps.zip and reboot).
4. After that im able to activate the gps (without 3g or any data connection) and after a few seconds i have a signal.
5. Now the bad news, shadowmod b6 is well done and the memory fix worked better than in b3. but after this gapps update it seems that the memory tweaks are replaced, my phone now begans to lack when im running out of memory, it hangs up in apps and at the screen ect, i must push the power button once wait the time the phone needs to turn off the display, turn it on and it worked again. (this was happened many times in b3 and after update to b6 it never happened again, now its back xD)
But this is not a big problem for me.
Automatic Display turn off after 15 seconds
so if it hangs up i press the off button wait 15 seconds turn the display on and everything is working again, sometimes over 2 days.
How this can be fixed dont ask me i dont know it.

Dear seniors, I'm suffering a critical problem, My HTC Dream was stuck and I reflashed it from market through J-Tag.... now my set is working well but....
when I press my "z" button from my keyboard my set type "y" and when I press "y" it type "z".......... is it a hardware problem or I can solve it by my own without going to market to spend money..........
any solution would be appreciated.....

Possible a corrupt .bin file.
Could try pulling from a different rom and replacing, you can find them in the /system/usr folder. Also have to ask you do have your location set correctly don't you?

I don't think so it is my ROM error.... because when I received my G1 after "J-Tag" it had android 1.0 version, the problem was still on that version then I ask my friend to update it to the latest android 2.2 it still not remove or update the corrupt .bin file.....

I installed Gingercruzt rom and Arc Launcher Transparency theme. But when I press the Home button, there is a pop-up with the last applications. When I turn off the phone, home theme of gingercruzt comes back. I tried with " Home switcher " but nothing happens.
boot into recovery
full wipe (factory reset)
reboot
install your arc launcher again
when you pressing home key make sure you not hold it
when you hold afew moment it become recently app
(so press once)
pop up screen will come out (it will ask launch by what?)
sellect arc launcher if you want it and make sure u click on the make it default

1- are u using app2sd or something similar? and u need ext2/ ext3/ ext4 on your sdcard
2- what rom you wearing rite now?
1) No I don't have any application like that. I just move on the games with parameters-> applications -> manage the applications

you have to play with unlock boot loader (be carefull)
flashing kernel (easy)
partitioning sdcard (ext2/ext3/ext4) (lot steps)
or
Download all the app U like with browser instead market
(because when download using market we don't have the installer for the app)
download the app.apk and save it in one folder and just name it apk folder..
so everytime u change your rom, u can simply instal it again and again, and again..
I just use this trick!!

some app.apk u can simply google it..
but almost paid app.apk are not allowed!
I just buy a paid app.apk dvd with my friend
About the boot sound U have to search it your self..
I'm not sure about your rom rite now (R8)??
but u can try this
install root explorer (phone need rooted)
(this app same like file manager but it can see phone and system files)
you can simply search the boot animation folder
on phone directory instead sdcard
search one by one folder
when u get the boot sound or boot animation u can simply delete
(If can't delete) click on "mount RW" on the top right
sory long explaination..
