Keyboard - LG Revolution

What keyboard do you all use? I was using the Swift X, I loved it, but now my trial ran out, and I am not certain if I want to drop 4 bux on an app. Any thoughts? Opinions?

I like the keyboard included in the clean rom cubed gifted us unworthy throngs.
Thanks cubed.

Smart keyboard. I migrated from swiftkey to this one. I love it much better. Seems like more options and better predictions.

I use Swype Beta, I love it. Muchhhh better than the stock swype
I've had Swype for a little over a year now and I dont think I can ever go back to that peasant work of tapping each letter...pffftt appalling, I have evolved
I hope no one is actually a full time actaul peasant on here, If so i'm sorry I offended you. If you need some shillings or a loaf a bread please feel free to PM me and we should be able to set up some type of program.

LOL holy crap. So my phone came with swype, and I am looking at the beta site where it tells me, F U, if you were unfortunate enough to have swype pre installed on your phone, oh well, you idiot. Guess you get to lose out. Keep wondering what swype is like, cuz that's as close as you are gonna get. LOSER!! That is almost an exact quote.
Smart keyboard it is.

what is the latest swype beta? i have 3.5.83. what's the latest?

Hey guys Swiftkey X is the free paid app of the day through the Amazon App Store!

Actually your not F-ed...how do you think I got it haha.
HOWEVER...you do need a invite, but if you have that, read below:
Download/use Root Explorer
1. Disable Swype completely (checkmark and input method)
2. Mount file system as R/W (top right hand corner of Root Explorer)
3. Add ".bak" to end of \system\app\swype.apk
4. Add ".bak" to end of \data\dalvik-cache\[email protected]@[email protected]
5. Add ".bak" to end of \system\lib\libSwypeCore.so
6. Reboot
7. Download and Run the latest Swype Beta installer
8. ENJOY!

Droid X Multi-Touch Keyboard

Hey everyone,
I just downloaded and installed the new multi-touch keyboard from the Droid X on my Captivate via ADB and it works perfectly so far.
Link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709519
I used the 2.1 Eclair version, obviously.
wow I like it better than the HTC one i was using, thanks!
Thank you for posting this. I am going to move it over to the apps section but leave a redirect for a week.
Worked great for me, been using a mix of HTC and Swype but this I was able to type more correctly and faster than with either of them.

I'm using it now and I love it. Pretty basic, simple keyboard. Is there any other advantage to it other than being able to hold the caps key down though?

Works perfect thanks

hmm, wouldn't install for some reason.
Would not install
This would not install for me either. When I try it just says Parse Error, there is a problem parsing the package. I'm kinda new to android so I have no idea what this could mean. Anyone else having this problem?
just wish it had the same arrows as the keyboard that comes on the EVO
can anyone explain to me again what the benefit of this is over swype? or stock android keyboard?
Wow, great find!!! This keyboard is better than better keyboard!
Systoxity: You can type crazy fast on it. I couldn't get used to the Swype keyboard, and the android keyboard had me hitting the wrong keys all the time. This one is crazy accurate for me!

Yea, it said that for me too when I first downloaded it directly to the phone. So, I downloaded it to my computer, then moved it over to the sdcard via usb cable then ran it from file manager and it installed fine that way.

[Q] My favorite keyboard is gone! :'(

I love docs 1.2 rom. killer23d put it up a while back and i use that one whenever im not satisfied with a new rom. i think i might have found a rom that i like but it doesnt have that awesome keyboard that i am used too. does anyone know how i can take the keyboard off of the 1.2 rom and put it onto any other rom? PLEASE?! thanks!
Does anyone know how i can put the white multi touch keyboard on my sgs and wherebi can download it? Idk how to install via cwm. I tried using
that to install something else and it pretty much messed up my phone and i had to reinstall the rom. Thanks.
Might get some more bites if you listed the name of the keyboard you want.
Grrrr... I forgot which one it was! It was all white. And i rhink it was titled as an android keyboard. Maybe a droid x ordroid 2 keyboard?

I think a small compromise is needed. Try using "better keyboard" to see if that can provide u some temp relief while some dev tries to figure this out.

Network Worlds '10 Cool New Apps for Android Honeycomb Tablets'

Great slide show from Network world showcasing current and (more interestingly) upcoming honeycomb applications:
http://newsletters.networkworld.com/t/5513776/258772317/260944/0/
you know, living with the fact that there are so-few tablet optimized apps out there, I really forget about how insane its going to be once the tegra tablet games really start rolling in. Some of this stuff is going to look GORGEOUS, especially with the overclock
edit: and that swiftkey looks GREAT; havent used the beta but It looks like I found my new keyboard
So excited for the games.
im excited for the new swift key, its my primary keyboard for my phone and the neon loks sick. The tablet future looks awsome
I just loaded Opera based on the slideshow stating it is optimized for tablets this week. Complete lie. It is the furthest thing from honeycomb optimized.
I really like the new SwiftKey! Using it right now to type this reply... the default theme is OK but I'll change it as soon as more come out...

same here, it works fine.
but it sucks compared to Android GB Keyboard
i used to believe Swype was great until i started using AGB keyboard, now i can't live without it.
it's simply that good
AGB keyboard = stock keyboard on 2.3.3 / 2.3.4
i actually find swype to be cumbersome and slow now

Granted I'm a first time Android user, but I couldn't get used to the keyboard on my NS4G. I'm also coming from a Pre with a physical keyboard that I could type one handed without looking.
I admit the Swype keyboard looks like garbage compared to the new keyboard, but in terms of usability, I can punch out a text using Swype waayyy faster than on the new keyboard.
okay, yes, if you want to type one handed in the mist of a rush hour in a public transit, then Swype is a better choice
but for multi-touch fast 2 hands typing, the stock android keyboard is magnificent specially when it comes to language switching
it gives you instantaneous language swap, so in the same message you can mix and match languages without the looooooong steps required on swype.
Confirming also that swype is working fine on NS4G. I had to log into the swype beta website, 'remove' the old device they had listed for my account, re download the inataller, let it do its thing, e.g. install, license...
Off topic, do guys get key lag with AGB Keyboard? ..and did u install from market, or literally just the stock?

+1 on the sprint skin. Looks nice with the high contrast of our screens.
I just came over from a supersonic so I was having a bit of trouble adjusting to typing on a smaller screen, but this certainty helps. I find it even easier to use Swype on a 4.0" screen.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Giving it a try now; I used to use Swype all the time on my EVO and EVO Shift, but I like the Gingerbread keyboard a lot so I hadn't given much thought to installing Swype on my Nexus.
Why not though, eh?
The Sprint skin is kind of trippy. Digging it.

The skin is nice, but don't miss the new features that are only available in this version (for now anyway):

This has some other updates too, at least for me. I stopped using Swype a few months ago. One thing I noticed is that it has better prediction like slide it has. (I found slide it much easier to use.)
Anyway, I am liking swype again.

I know, but I want to try. website swype can not download this version only 3.6.84.26668
Anybody with a regular (non-Sprint) Nexus S tried downloading this? I gave it a go last night and ended with just regular ver. May have been a bit early, time-wise, but it's probably tied to device fingerprint.
Those of you who have successfully installed this new version, would you mind uploading your build.prop (for the device fingerprint)? Assuming it's just a simple check on initial install, it could work for us non-Sprint-ers.
Loving the Sprint Swype, least Sprint understands they owe us.
