I'm looking for a really good email app that has true HTML and allows pinch zooming while view an email. It also needs to have smooth scrolling while viewing an email.
Any suggestions?

I did not see a Xoom there, but a Galaxy tab email apk. It looks great but I get a network error when it tries to download recent emails.
I personally like Enhanced EMail. I use it for work (Exchange 2007 Server w/Activesync) and a Yahoo account on a normal basis. It works pretty well. I also like the fact that It uses the native calendar and contacts list in the OS and doesn't have to install its own apps to provided that functionality. It cost me 10$, but it was half the price of the bloatware they call Touchdown and works better.
Check your pm.... ozone

I'm really interested in the Xoom email app too. Can someone send me the apk file for it?

Anyone get Yahoo Mail to work email app? Comes up with login errors on my SGS but works fine on Milestone. What is different about Samsungs email client? Are there any versions that work?

If anyone cares, K9 mail works with Yahoo.
Will try AOSP email next. I wonder if Samsung and Yahoo just had some disagreement lol

Got it working with yahoo.com using imap protocol.
Mine works fine with POP, I have a very old account though so have the option to use POP, I'm sure newer accounts don't have this option unless you pay far a premium account

Any word on a Google docs app? Trying to take notes on the browser version was not ideal last night. I don't know why Google hasn't invested more into Google docs on android...
Just wondering if there was any news on development of this app for honeycomb.

You can try GDocs app, it allows you create, edit, view, import, export and send documents as well sync documents with your Google Docs account.
I'd imagine that Google will give us a Docs tablet version, like the gmail app...but when? Who knows.
Until something solid comes, the Docs Mobile website is working for me, but it ain't pretty.

I purchased Documents To Go and PrintShare Pro. Now I can edit, create and share my Google Docs AND Print them from work or home. I just wish there was a way for DTG to put printing as an option. It would have saved me some $$$.
Documents to go works well on xoom? Or should I wait for quick office?

It works great for me too!
DocumentsToGo works great for word docs, but spreadsheets don't work. The spreadsheet will pull up, but as soon as you enter text into a cell it will randomly copy that text to other cells in the spreadsheet. Additionally, if you attempt to open a spreadsheet you'll see that the data from a group of cells is randomly copied to other cells. Spreadsheets in DocumentsToGo on honeycomb are essentially useless.
I paid for Docs to Go, and quite frankly, I hate it. Google Docs (desktop version) is awesome, and strangely works horribly on our browsers. Google really needs to put more of an effort into getting all their services available and ready when they release a "Google Experience Device" of this caliber, especially one people will buy with the intent of being able to do some real mobile office/school work. I am really hoping they have a Gmail-like Google Docs app in the works for their new Honeycomb users...

Can you provide an example spreadsheet? Better yet send one to the d2g developer. I have not dealt with any complicated spreadsheets but sure have not seen anything like what you describe.

Quite a few of you have asked me about the Facebook not syncing with 2.3.4 since Google decided to make it a no-no...Below is a link to a compiled .apk file that, hopefully, fixes the syncing problem.
*ContactsProvider.apk* TESTING ONLY and not responsible if something bad happens!! What I can say is that I have been running this on my phone with no problems but since I don't use Facebook..maybe someone else can let me know.
- Lastly, do NOT sign the .apk
- push to /system/app

SyncMyPix works well
I can't wait to see it working on my Xoom. I really hope your solution will be universal.
Also, I cannot test on my Nexus S, as CM7 has already the sync working.
So, is this a working solution?
I just picked up a NS4G and would love to get this working.
same here. as a matter of fact, why did google decide to go against this?

They wanted the data to be synced to the contact so that it would be on Google's servers... i.e. their picture is uploaded to the server, and no longer requires Facebook sync for the data.
Yes those are the rules for using Google's contact API. The philosophy is that the user should be able to export and have control over data his contacts have shared with him. Facebook wants all that data to stay in the Facebook system. They do not want to allow you to export or own or have control of your friends contact info outside of Facebook.
The rule has always been there and Facebook has always violated it. This is Google's way of letting them know they are not happy about it even though they continue to let it slide on pretty much all other devices.

Any news on this app would like to resync them again thanks
I've been using an apk called syncmypix and it works wonders..

It sync's the pix, there are dozents of tools like that...we need a data sync tool which sync's fb data, not only pics, with the phone contacts...
I've been using Contapps (also on the Android Market) to get around this issue.
Works great.
Actually, Contapps is a good app and can sync with social networks, including Facebook.

Maybe someone clever enough should just have a look into Cm7 source code or just ask the team. They have the answer and I am sure they are willing to share.

The Facebook app package name just needs to be added to the various unrestricted packages lists. Then its free to do whatever with your data, ignoring Google's restrictions.
I will try and find out exactly which parts of code it requires changed some time this week, I believe its XML only.

Or....
Go here: http://www.koushikdutta.com/2008/10/synchronizing-google-and-facebook.html.
Install on your PC. Run. Log in. Boom, synced.
Thanks to Koush.
That's not the same thing as what the Facebook app does. Koush's app just takes the photo from Facebook and updates the photo in your Google Contact entry for the person. That photo is then permanent until you manually remove it on the Google Contacts website.
The Facebook app only stores the photo in the person's contact on your phone, but not in the actual Google contact entry. The advantage of this is that if you remove Facebook, the pics go away as well. It keeps Facebook and Google Contacts separate. This is how Twitter, Last.FM, Qik, et al do it.

I know. I like that better. I did not like syncing photos, then I log into Gmail Contacts and all the photos were gone. I like to have the photos in Gmail too.
But my post really was in reply to another user who suggested another 3rd party app to sync the pictures. I meant to quote his post but I did not.

Gotcha, thanks. Afaik, CM and some other chefs have the requisite info to bypass goog's restrictions and allow syncing. Maybe we can reach out to them and they'll be kind enough to share the solution?
I need an email app for my AKO email. The stock email app which i really like however is having some problems connecting though :-(
I installed K9 email, but it doesn't seem tablet friendly as it just stretches the screen and they are long and narrow (email subjects)
So is there an app that uses the screen Size of a tablet to its benefit?

The native Gmail tablet app has the best layout IMO
I use the gmail client for all my accounts, but set up gmail to poll my POP/IMAP accounts on the web interface. You can even set it up to reply via the account.
If AKO supports POP/IMAP and the ability to send via that server, why not go this route?

+1 on kaiten (k10)... I think its the best all around in terms of connectivity, stability, and flexibility, though it doesn't have the best gui.
Try moxier, they have made a tablet version which I use for both my xoom and phone and its great.

I just installed the CM7.2 SIII MOD V3 ROM from Faceliler and found it very light and useful, but the icon for setting up email accounts is not there. Gmail is in there, but I use the mail setup to get my hotmail and yahoo accounts in my phone. This is the first time I face a ROM that is lacking of the mail setup. May it be a bug or am I doing something wrong? I know this may be a very basic function but is one of the primary reasons why I have a unlimited internet plan in my cell phone, so its a primary function for me
Download an alternative E-mail client from play store. Faceliler should have removed it on purpose to add more space.
