[Q] More than 5 Home Screens? - Motorola Droid 3

I was wondering if there was a way to change the number of screens on the Droid 3's motoblur. I noticed the welcome video had 7 screens and that sounds perfect to me. Also, does motoblur no longer have profiles? I'd love a work/home profile for apps.

It's not Motoblur, whats on this Droid!
More homescreens means another installing launcher I think...

I would also like to figure this out, I only want 3 screens, 5 its more than I need

I prefer one screen myself, with my most used apps nearest the bottom + the dock buttons. I use Launcher Pro for that. Launcher pro also allows me to hide over 30 stock apps that I don't want to see. LP will allow for up to 7 screens.

I'd love to agree with it not being Blur, but if you go to the Files app, Internal Storage->Android->data, and scroll down the list, one of the folders is for an app named 'com.motorola.blur.home'... hmm... I wonder what that could be It seems Motorola themselves just wants to move away from the name, but they can't seem to update their apps to reflect that

I was running 1 screen for a while on my OG, and loved that set up, but I'm using more widgets now than I was then. And until I can use that sweet quick contacts widget in LP, I'm stuck with the blur.

Zeam issues.

So im new to the nook and zeam. Not new to rooting or android.......but seeing how i love and use sense ui on my Evo i do have a few questions.
I don't know if these are zeam launcher related or just a bi product of the rooted nook but i cannot get any picture frame widget to work.
When i go to add item>widget>select either the stock picture frame or any of the market downloaded ones>takes me to the gallary to select a photo...after i crop that's it...it doesn't add or anything...
And also
When i longpress home screen in zeam and select add item/shortcut it just reloads the homescreen....i have to open the app drawer and longpress the app shortcut i want to place in the homescreen.
Do i need to uninstalll/reinstall?
Thanks for any and all help!
Sent from either my Nootered Nook, or my Myn infused EVO...it doesn't get any better!
Might have something to do with the Nook not handeling "shortcuts" properly. Maybe.

i think you may be right....i really prefer zeam over ADW and Launcher Pro, so i guess if that is the issue, i wont even bother a switch and just deal with it.
Yeah...just to check I tried it on mine (running LaunPro) and it didn't work for me either.

That's the way you add things to the home screens with Zeam. If I recall that's also the way you add things to the home screen in Launcher Pro on the NC too.
Thanks guys for the help....
Anyone have any idea on the picture frame Widgets?

Best Home Screen Launcher??

Best Home Screen Launcher??
Im using Regina 3D Launcher, for me it works for categorizing my apps, and the 3D effect is a nice plus, I have seen others but they did not catch my eye, maybe we can list all the one we have used and note the pros and cons. Im using Galaxy Tab T-Mobile 7" w/32gb cls 10 and 114 apps most of them on sd card.
Pros= 3D Eye candy
Secret hidden area
Easy setup
Free!
Easy config Backup/Restore
Seperate wallpapers for each page
Fast and fluid scrolling
Cons= No live wallpapers
Limited to 10 Pages

If you think thats good get Auto App Organizer
It allows you to manually or automatically categorize apps upon installation and you can also set shortchuts to teh folders on homescreen with choice of icon, Its one of the most useful apps iv'e ever used
I have tried regina 3d but not being able to use in landscape made it a no go. Currently I am using Go Launcher EX which is by far my favorite. One issue I have is not being able to see the entire menu options with the status bar being on the bottom. Otherwise great Launcher. Personally I wish there was a launcher designed for 7" tablets running froyo or gb that was more tablet oriented.

Hd widgets

Just download a great, completely customizable weather, clock, settings widget. It's only 99 cents on the market right now. Perfect for my ever changing homescreen. So many themes. Give it a look. I added a couple of pics to show some of the colors and sizes.

I assume you're the developer. I could be wrong. I like the appearance of the widgets, are there anything more than the weather/clock widgets?
Thanks
Bought it. It's awesome. The widgets looks very elegant on my xoom's screen. The variety of widget sizes and looks make this one a great buy!
I was lucky enough to beta test this widget and it was a pleasure watching the developers upgrade and fix it over several months. They are quick to resolve issues and I purchased it as soon as it became available on market.
Edit: @ Saintfyre, the main 8x2 widget allows the forcast on right to be switched with a control panel similar to a power control widget. Things like BT, screen rotation, wifi can all be turned on/off. Beyond that, theyre just weather and clock. Its a replacement for Beautiful widgets.
@OP. What is the Theme you are using? And what is the small up arrow in the center of your notification bar?
First app I bought without much research, saw one review and small review at that in a blog, very happy I bought it, very nice widgets.
I decided to pick it up and was beating my head against the wall because I couldn't get the widgets to appear in the Xoom widget menu after long-pressing. Simple reboot takes care of it, for those who scratch their head like I did after configuring one and trying to find out how to place it. I like what I see so far. Thanks devs!

I believe he's either using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or has found a way to run TouchWiz UX on a Xoom. Probably the first one. The arrow would be the shortcut TW has for the mini apps.

Sorry not the developer, just letting people know about the widget that I liked.
Yes, not a theme, I use a galaxy tab 10.1 now, but old habits like this forum die hard.

In your 3rd pic on the top you are using something that has large buttons as folders. What program does that?
Ok, while you're at it, where did you get that wicked Star Trek wallpaper? /drool
The folders are two apps. Desktop visualizer is a free app that lets you take almost any small picture and use it for a launcher button of any app or bookmark. Then you can resize it to whatever dimensions you want. I have that widget working with the app called folder organizer lite. You can put all your apps into different folders. Apply your own icon and resize away. It saves alot of screen area so you don't have 100 apps taking up real estate. I can post some pics if you want to see what it looks like. Both apps are free in the market.
And here is the uss enterprise wallpaper. But you have to use the multipicture live wallpaper (free) in order to get it to display correctly. Honeycomb crops the sh!# out of it.

Under the HD Widgets settings you can add and remove different sizes.
Won't update units from F to C. :crying:
But other than not knowing what 50 degrees F is, the app is awesome.

[REQUEST] App Drawer as Desktop?

does anyone know a way of setting my 4x5 App drawer from ADW or LauncherPro as my desktop screen, doing away with the home-screens entirely, but not horizontally like in MIUI?
Not entirely sure but possibly you could look for an app drawer app in the market, rename it to Launcher2.apk, and replace it in /system/app/ directory.
Of course, nandroid first!
just get an iphone already...

LOL! So true. If you want something like that just get an iPhone. Or even an iPhone Launcher on the market.
The best thing on Android is, that you can customize almost everything. So why he should buy iPhone where he can customize nothing?
I guess it is not bad idea to have home launcher like this. Though I won't probably not used it, because I am satisfied with stock ICS launcher for now.

We're kind of teasing him lol. Having the app drawer as the launcher would look just like an iPhone (just rows of apps icons). So we were saying if he wanted that he should just get an iPhone. If you really desperately want your homescreen like that drag all of your apps out of the drawer and put them on a homescreen. Problem solved?

Because he obviously doesn't want to customize the phone different from an iPhone. And if he was to try and put an iOS theme on there. Then why not just get what your trying so hard to resemble.

He wants to have launcher to scroll verticaly while iPhone launcher scroll horizontaly so I don't see your point at all. And the difference in Android vs. iPhone is just launcher? Nothing else?

Nova launcher.. I don't see what all the fuss it?

So I'm trying nova launcher instead of Touchwiz. I honestly do not see what the fuss is. The only thing I like is the ability to move the app drawer button to the center of the dock. After that, I see no speed difference or awesome features.
I know most people seem to like it, but I just dont see it. Am I missing something?
LOTS of customizations.
Resizing of all third party apps
Resizing of the desktop and drawer
Font customization
Lollipop animations
Custom Google search widget
Custom animation speed
Forced landscape mode
And many more. ..

there is no questions any custom launcher bring added functionality. I personally can't live without a 5x5 grid, badge notification on almost any app and a vertical scroll drawer. The lollipop animations are also pretty cool
You my friend must be using a different version then all of us. So many features. Blows tw away by miles.

So there is a bit of a learning curve to using a launcher if you are new to them. For Nova I would focus on the items I starred in the screen shots below. Play around with it. You will see the benefits, trust us.

That's awesome that you did that.
My personal favorite is assigning Shortcuts to App Icon swipe up. (Direct Dial Wife on swipe up of Phone Icon)

Changing icons individually or as a pack, multiple docks, transition effects, size of icons can be changed, swipe action for individual icons, folders can be changed, several add ons suchs as unread counts, now comes the final question - did you use the pay or the free version. A lot of the really cool stuff is only available in a paid version and trust me it is lightning fast compared to touchwiz.
I'm using nova prime. I'm still learning, this is the first time I've ever used anything other than what was baked into whatever Rom I was using. My last phone was the s3 and Darth stalker had the Xperia launcher I think... I've been using touchwiz was the last month, I just didn't like the menu (app draw) key on the right side.

I love the back-up restore option with Nova prime that I can use to quickly restore all my short cuts and widgets. Even between devices. I would use for this alone.

OP you may want to try "Go Launcher EX" its more user friendly in my opinion. I love it because the them options and whatnot with it are endless.
I seriously love Nova launcher it's always been my go to and I've tried quite a few. I wish it was possible to pin action memos as a widget though. It's not enough to get me to stop using Nova, but damn that would be perfect if it was possible.
