I just received an OTA for my Incredible S and I can't see anything about it online: version number 2.30.707.1 and it was about 30MB.
I didn't find any obvious change so far. And the description was something very vague about "update of applications".
Any one knows what this update was about?
Please be sense 3!
No obvious changes meant Android version is still 2.3.3 and Sense still 2.1
Sorry.
Ooh I misread your op..
I thought you said 300mb and didn't realize you already installed it.
Desire s gets sense 3 and we get shafted
Nothing here in the UK, I'm still on 2.30.405.1
Today Desire S in GB got 2.3.5 and sense 3.0
INCS should be next IMHO
That really would make this device one of the best...
Hope to get an updated gb and sense soon.

If you have ClockworkMod installed, the OTA will fail. You need to flash the HTC stock recovery back in order for the OTA to run and update successfully.
I'm from Australia, and keep checking every half an hour for updates. nothing yet.
Updated Mine and NO SENSE 3.0!
Disappointed with how slow HTC is dealing with updates!!!!!!! Super SLOW!
No way man...
I'd rather a Sensation over a S2 any day...
HTc sense is by far superior to Touch Wiz in my opinion and I have had phones with both so I know what i'm saying.

may i know how to do it
Edit
did it, thanks
Lots of guides in the development section. U need to download the stock HTC ROM, again found in development section, connect ur phone to ur computer via usb and put the downloaded ROM zip file onto ur sd card, then boot into recovery and flash the stock ROM on ur sd card following the on screen instructions. 4ext recovery is best to use. Format and wipe first. This will however put ur phone back to s-on. Or you could just wait for one of the many good developers here to cook a new ROM based on the latest release, undoubtedly better. All the guides take u through it step-by-step though.
Good luck

After reading for the last 2 days, I am still unsure of exactly how to upgrade my Raider (Canadian) to ICS. There are probably others trying to work out the same. So, to avoid the problem of having noobish questions asked repeatedly in multiple other threads, I have created this thread. If the thread is active, I will try to keep the first couple posts updated to minimize the need to read through multiple pages!
If you are a Dev or experienced, knowledgeable user, I'm sure you see the benefit to answering once in a proper thread.
My thoughts so far:
1. Back everything up and fully charge your device.
2. Have a plan for what you will do if this fails and you brick your device.
2. Unlock your bootloader and Root your device. Link To Slapshot30's Superguide
4. Turn off security on your device (S-OFF) Link to Juopunutbear S-OFF Thread
5. Change your carrier id to "SuperCID" jmone's post on checking and changing your CID
6. Relock your bootloader.
7. This is the step I am unsure of... People seem to use some terms interchangeably, but I'm not sure it is reliable. For example, HBOOT, boot.img and kernal. I think the first two are synonymous but I'm not sure kernal is the same? Since there is no Bell or Rogers ICS, we are going to use another carrier's stock, or more likely, a custom ROM. I have read that you need to replace the HBOOT (boot.img?) with one that is a match for the ROM you wish to install. I think a match generally will be found by (ideally) using the HBOOT recommended by the ROM dev, or secondarily, using the HBOOT for the same carrier and same OS (eg if a rom is based on AT&T 2.3.7, then using the HBOOT extracted from the stock AT&T GB 2.3.7 RUU would work). So, we need to clarify the steps here for HBOOT/boot.img (and kernal?)
8. Install ICS ROM!

For those that have been successful in applying ICS to their Canadian Raider, please provide precise, detailed explanation of how you did it!
DEV's & other experts, your input would be appreciated. In return, you'll minimize pages of unwanted posts elsewhere!

Okay to start off I have a Bell raider with S-OFF and running Dark Raider 1.2 with the KozmiKKernel Beta 5.
Follow this handy guide made by mohamed_moscow: (word for word)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612685
Once you get to the last step you can flash any custom rom and kernel!
Almost glad that I haven't been checking XDA in a while only to come back and see the s-off is working now. Awesome.
After updating my Bell Raider to ICS, I noticed nothing bad except one thing : when I'm in call, the other person I'm talking to is complaining about some feedback thru my phone. They say they hear themselves.
Anyone has the same issue?

My guess is this will get resolved once Rogers releases their ICS OTA/RUU and we have a proper Rogers radio.img.

Which brings the next question....when rogers when????
Sent from my HTC-X710a using XDA
I just updated the superguide and it should work for all carriers. The basis of it for carriers other than AT&T is....
lock bootloader
run GB RUU for whichever carrier
unlock bootloader
S OFF
flash wcx recovery
update to international ICS hboot
flash wcx recovery
flash custom kernel + ROM
If the radio really is the issue, since bell and rogers share identical protocols and frequencies you will be able to use the bell radio. Bell has announced released in june, so if rogers doesn't parallel back you can get s-off and then just apply the new bell radio.

Well I have the att vivid using red pocket. This is what I did. When I got phone it was already running ics.
Unlock bootloader
Installed wcxrecovery and flash wcx ics 3.6
You can stop right there if your using att vivid. But I continued and
S-off
Super cid
Pretty simple as the superguide wasn't updated when I did it but I just read up before installing anything. Took me an hour to do everything now I have a awesome phone that I traded for a skyrocket for. No regrets

Raider ICS Update
I started off with the Rogers HTC Holiday and in a span of a day I managed to complete the entire unlock procedure thanks to SUPERGUIDE and the thread on ICS HBoot update. This was the most complicated device I have ever unlocked amongst HTC Pyramid z710a and the HD2. I hope ROGERS releases this RUU soon! Installing Dark Raider 1.4.2 as I type!! ))

I'm running DarkRaider 1.4 on a Rogers Raider. I followed the steps for the S-OFF you linked in your post, then flashed WCX recovery via the Vivid AIO tool (check the Dev forum, it's stickied). After that, I just flashed the ROM via recovery, no problems.
Other than a few ROM specific bugs, I haven't had a problem. I'm still waiting for Visual Voicemail to work though.
Hi,
I am a complete novice at this and don't know anything about the various terms used in this forum regarding upgrading. Is there any complete step by step guide that i can follow to install these and upgrade my HTC Incredible S to Jellybean?
I would really be grateful for any advice/guidance that i can get.
With much gratitude,

The HTC Incredible S is not going to get official Jellybean from HTC. The only way to get Jellybean is through flashing a custom ROM but it will NOT have Sense (unless someone is going to port a jellybean release from HTC with Sense.
I made a guide on how flash custom ROMs and achieving S-OFF which is right in my sig. Just click the link, read once and make sure you understand, then just follow the guide.

true.. HTC will not be officially releasing updates post ICS.. but if you want to install custom Jelly Bean ROMS (there are a plenty), then download the ROMs from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136463

You are correct, there are no ROMs running Sense and Jellybean for the incredible S. Personally, AOSP is much better and fluid in performance
Hi guys,
I've recently bought myself a 2nd hand HTC One, I had to unlock it from EE(UK) to make it accept the use of my o2(UK) sim.
I then decided that I wanted to try rooting it to have a look at different ROMs, because I had never tried tinkering with my previous android phones. Having experimented with a couple, I have decided I would like to restore my phone to stock because I am missing the use of one app in particular, HTC TV, not to mention I don't like the way to get to comma's on the Google keyboard. However, in my enthusiasm for trying out rooting and custom ROMs I failed to make a backup of my stock ROM, I know, I can look back at that mistake and think "I deserve a slap", however that is why I am here, looking for different options.
My HTC One is currently running on Cyanogen Mod 10.1.2.
I have browsed a number of threads but I couldn't find myself a satisfactory answer to my particular issue.
I ran into my first problem when attempting to find the RUU for my device, I cannot find an RUU for version 2.24.61.2 (Orange), apparently it has not been released yet.
I then read some threads for any ways to revert to an earlier RUU, such as HTC Europe 1.28.401.7, and there were threads detailing how to do it, however they required that you get S-OFF on your HTC one, the most effective way of doing this is using Revone, however my Hboot is running on version 1.54 which seemingly makes it impossible to S-OFF with Revone.
I have tried finding a 3rd party IR Remote app for my HTC One, but most of the ones I have found on the app store are either rubbish in comparison to HTC TV, are designed specifically for Samsung devices, or, in the case of Smart IR Remote, no longer developed. I should also note that I downloaded the 1.3.1 version and pushed it to my HTC using adb push, but the app kept crashing and I un-installed it out of frustration.
If I have missed anything glaringly obvious to a more experienced developer, I apologise, but I have searched for a good day for solutions based on my current knowledge before writing this post.
If anyone could please point me to a good thread that could deal with at least a good number of my issues it would be much appreciated, or if anyone could give me any answers to my problems listed above, I would love you long time.
If you require any more details don't hesitate to let me know.
Cheers. :good:
Mr Splat
why not flash a sense based rom like viperone or arhd
I was thinking of that, but I wasn't entirely sure that flashing to a sense based ROM was what what I needed. I thought Cyanogenmod was a sense-based ROM, however I'm going to now I assume I may have made an epic blunder and not read the description of Cyanogenmod properly.
I'll try a flash and then I'll come back and let you know if I have got HTC TV back onto my One.

Just a quick question, I take it that the arhd 4.3 release is unsuitable as the google edition comes without htc tv?
I must also ask, having stated in my OP, my current software build is 2.24.61.1, the ahrd 4.2.2 page says that it's build is 2.24.401.8, is that not an issue?
Not sure on the ge version of arhd have never ran it but there is a 4.3 sense version of arhd that will work most sense based roms have HTC tv app and your software build won't make a difference

Hey guys,
So I recently got the HTC One Remix (the Verizon version of the HTC One Mini 2) and I would like to root it and install a custom ROM for it (preferably Cyanogenmod). The problem is verizon makes it hard to do any of these things and sadly switching carriers isn't really an option any time soon so I am trying to make do.
HTC-Dev reportedly won't work with verizon phones and many of the solutions for the HTC One Mini 2 don't work for the Remix even though they are essentially the same phone. Cyanogenmod has the HTC One Mini 2 listed as a supported device but I am not sure if that will work with the Remix because a carrier is not specified.
I have yet to see anyone who has had any luck, so is there anyone out there at all who is running a custom ROM on a rooted HTC One Remix? If so, what did you use to obtain root (sunshine maybe?) and what custom ROM are you running?
I'm majorly new to this sort of thing so hopefully the solutions are relatively easy so I don't end up bricking my phone.
Any help at all would be much appreciated!

As far as I can see there aren't many hardware differencec between the two phones. The only problem is that at this point there is no other way of unlocking these phones then trough HTC dev. I don't think there is a lot of development going on with unlocking with other methods. How do you know HTC dev isn't supporting your device? Did you check if "All other supported models" in the list?

It a verizon exclusive and HTC Dev doesn't work on verizon phones. The carrier blocked it. There's also a disclaimer somewhere deep on the htc site.
Thanks though. I'm just frustrated because I like the phone but I also really want to root it. I've tried a couple of the easier methods like sunshine and towelroot and those don't work I'm only on 4.4.2 but with my low skill level in this area I'm not sure if there's much I can do. I know s-off and root aren't the same thing but that's supposed to make it easier to find a way to achieve root right?
Aha then i'm afraid there isn't much you can do. Only wait for s-off because but I don't think it is goanna happen. My previous device is a One X and they had a huge user/developer base but never achieved s-off. It seems HTC really did a good job at closing this down.

HTC One mini 2/remix stock recovery
Hi. I might be able help you here.
Here is a link to what I'm pretty sure is the stock recovery. Note this dumb forum won't let me post links, so reassemble this yourself..
h t t p s
w w w . androidfilehost . c o m
/?fid=95784891001615233
Can't remember the exact cmd line.. something like adb flash recovery <file>
Now for the rom, I'll have to see if the link I got it from is still valid when I get home. There's a guy 'jcase' I think on the IRC that uploaded his personal backup that worked for me.
To be clear, the rom is for the HTC One 'remix' - Verizon's branded HTC one mini 2. There is NO working cyanogenmod that I know of.
btw you will need the TWRP recovery to restore from the rom backup when you get it, so the stock recovery might only be useful if the flash still has the recovery image on it.
Certainly worth trying first.
Good luck,
-M
