Hello everyone, I just picked up my streak 7 and there is so much information out there that I am not sure whats what anymore and I am in need of rooting this thing so I can put the honeycomb UI on there.
Can anyone help or direct me ?
If I need to pay for it or donate ill glady do so
If you haven't already done so, look in the Android Development threads of the DS7. There is a thread there with directions on how to root by Hellzya. Doesn't look too complicated.

I am new to the Dell streak7 (infact it is currently in the post on its way to me) and yes I'm a Noob to the forum too, I have had several JB'd iPhones but fancied a change from the Apple (and a bigger screen too ) I was swayed by reading up on the spec of the Streak 7 (and the price when compared to the Xoom) and then seeing all of the underground development by DJ_Steve and others on this Forum, well, it just signed and sealed it for me really...
....Anyway, the device will be a brand spanking new Wifi only model and from what I can gather there is no backup currently available for this device, I have read in the Dev forum that someone actually managed to re-install their original .img from the wifi device, I was wondering how I go about firstly copying these files and then restoring them (should the need arise) IE: best software to use and method to apply? Or would there be a better way to backup/restore?
Thanks in advance,
ATB
Mark
Edit: Sorry this should of been marked as a question, sorry, my bad!
Sorted....I Found Stock WiFi NVFlash download link inside another thread!
Here is the thread link incase anyone else ever needs it:

New here, first post, please don't flame me.
I did not find this question in the forum search.
I have a Streak 7 WiFi and did the Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) upgrade. I don't really care for it (please don't flame me).
Is there a way to rollback/downgrade back to the OEM load of the Android 2.2 (Froyo)?
Is there an OEM image out there, if so, is there also a guide for a roll back?
This unit is not unlocked or rooted. I am new to trying something like this with a tablet.

The reason you would normally get flamed for your post is because your post obviously shows you did NOT do ANY searching... there is a thread SPECIFICALLY for getting your wifi 7 back to stock froyo, just search for it and while you are at it read through a bunch of the other threads in the forum
It will make life for you much easier if you learn about your device
Peruse through the forums
Yup, I read your post yesterday and kept going. This is a valuable lesson...read before do anything to any electronic device that cost you money.
Hi
This has been driving me crazy I have a Dell Streak 7 (Wifi Only) running Stock Honeycomb 3.2 and I have been wanting to try out different roms that are out there and I have seen many posts here on XDA on how to do this but none of them seem to work. Is there a one click method to do this so I don't have to go through the pain of doing all the crazy steps?
Thanks
Tanner
The short answer is "no".
Rooting isn't installing a ROM although some install Superuser7 and some come with CWM included too.
Thanks, I know what rooting is I am not asking what rooting is, I am asking for help on where I can get rooting instructions for the streak 7. All the posts on here have links that do NOT work anymore.

You weren't clear on what didn't work, as for the links, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750019
Hello, as this information may already be posted please be patient as I am new to this site. I have a 32gb HP touchpad that I would like to install android on. Is there a thread or threads that someone could point me to for this installation process. Also, once android is added, will there be automated updates? I have done a great deal of research on this and it seems most of the android installation information is 6 months old or older. I would like to install android in its most recent form to the touchpad. Thanks.

So why not look in the 'guides' forum and follow the guide that's already been used by so many? You can read the comments to know what issues others have run into, pretty much everything is in there.
Put some effort into it, if you get stuck, ask questions in that forum / guide.
