I bought my Galaxy Tab yesterday and I want to know some must-have applications for it. I've already installed AZW Launcher, GO Weather and some goodies like this, but I want to know what's tablet optimized on the Market.
You didn't say if your tablet is rooted or not...

My Galaxy Tab is fully rooted
Then go for titanium backup, setcpu, root explorer,Netflix,HD wallpapers, to name a few...

I already have Titanium Backup Full and Root Explorer. (Just downloaded again since I already had those bought on my Galaxy S)
I'm in Brazil so I can't watch NetFlix... -.-
Look in the themes and apps forum under the galaxy tab.it will give you more ideas.

Maybe you should search on [Q] section or start a new treat if no one ask before. I also would like to know about this

Ok there is a similar post on this. Plug tablet in and charge it. While tablet is charging unplug your pc and then reboot it up to reset the usb ports. take your tablet and connect usb cable to pc. Ensure you have the samsung usb drivers loaded. Put your tablet in download mode and using odin try reflashing.

Hey guys I got a question , I have a friend that rooted his droid 3, but when the update came out for it he went along and did it. Now the phone says its rooted but the computer won't read it. How do you fix this ?

He meant system version, not android version.
Anyway, assuming you're on 5.6.890, you can just reroot using 1clickroot
5.6.890.xt862 , so even though it says its rooted , just root it again ?

It could be a root issue but I would first ceck device manager on windows, try latest drivers, if that does now work go into recovery and turn on usb connection (I think its under advanced).

The main problem he's having is that the computer won't detect his phone.... I installed the drivers from Motorola and it didn't work....
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
Did you/he try the recovery thing? If all else fails then he could have to re flash the sys.

Sorry I did not see the post above me , Imma give that a try and see what happens

The 5.6.890 system update for some reason broke any no-name brand micro-USB cables from working with the Droid 3. Use the supplied one or buy one from Verizon or Motorola.

No issues using my $4 Chinese cables from eBay. Using 5.6.890 here.

Same problem as the OP, tried all of the above. If I input the ADB DEVICES command, it output :
87897897897987 Offline
Can't get it to show as online or whatever the other state may be.
you could boot into the recovery options and flash the sbf using RSD.
I also have cheap blackberry MicroUSB cables bought on ebay that work just fine.
It seems simple but have you tried toggling usb debugging. I had the same issue until someone suggested that to me and worked like a charm. Toggle while unplugged then plug it.in

I haven't tried any of that but my friend is going bring his phone to me today so Imma give it all a try and let you guys know how it went.

Rooted my new phone yesterday and all went well, made all my backups like a good chap.
Now I have a slight issue, when I connect my phone to the PC via a usb cable it does not see it.
Anyone got an idea what I have done wrong. :crying:
TIA
Raistlin
Is usb debugging switched on?

Yes, I'd thought of that hence my post as I'm stumped...
This happens on both my I9300 and i9305. Does it read it as a media device?
You could always try install/update kies and reinstall drivers.

I'm new for n7 or tablet so xda community What is the benefit to root nexus 7?? Because I know to root my phone benefit like WiFi tether, titanium back up, root explorer and so on... For what use i root? Don't tell me about flash OK ng ROMs because I usually flash my galaxy phone and I enjoy flashing ROMs.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
You seem to already know about rooting and flashing ROMs so in a way, you have already answered your own question.
You get the same benefits as you would on a phone.
One advantage would be to get rid of pesky ads by means of AdFree or AdAway, for which you need root access. You already know the rest.
Cheers!
AdAway, Change Host name, Droid Wall, ES File Explorer, Rom Manager, Titanium Backup, etc...
And if you root your device you can plug in USB memory sticks and they mount and become browsable.
This means you can watch movies and stuff from a memory stick without using up your device memory.
All you need is an app like Stick Mount that is available from Play.

All of the above plus its makes random strangers think you're cool, enables a secret, hidden 'fire breathing unicorn' mode and helps reduce limescale buildup.

I rooted so I can use PPP Widget which allows me to use my 3G modem with nexus (with OTG cable). Then you can customize your N7, i.e. change boot animation, or you can integrate updated system apps in ROM (freeing storage memory) or clean the system with SD Maid. Also, you can flash custom recovery and then flash custom ROMs. Backup your apps/settings with Titanium Bakckup.
That's awesome to use 3g madam with otg cable than men

Ya I know about root with my original evo phone but I never had a tablet that's why I want to know root benefit on tablet like N7 with Google updated

You can already do this without rooting. I wish people would quit posting that you need root to do this.
You can theme your rom if you flash a custom rom like cm or aokp.

hello,
a few month ago i bought a galaxy s3 and sold my samsung galaxy ace to a friend with cyanogenmod installed on it. now my friend gave me the ace asking me to remove cyanogenmod because the camera is not working and the battery is empty after just a few hours. so i tried to flash the original 2.3.6 gingerbread using odin. everything ok until i press start, odin stops doing anything at "setup connection". (kies is installed for drivers, but killed in task manager, phone is in download mode etc). i tried this on all of my USB ports and even on my old laptop, with the same outcome.
so what can i do to get cm down and original firmware on the phone? is there a way without odin or a way i can make odin working with this phone? the interesting question is, why it doesnt work now, because i flashed CM ON this phone using my pc and odin and it worked.. now its not working...
plese help me!

Odin is a great app and lives up to it's name. Resurrected my phone many times with this app. Seems to run best on XP though.
A must for any sammy owner.

i thought i saw that they have a rooting apk file but ive never heard of it working, u can jus use a friends pc and root the phone though because the rooting files aint even large or take up space
Thanks. I will go ahead n do it on my gfs laptop whenever she brings it. I wish there was an apk but that's fine.

The apk is called Framaroot, but I don't know of it's confirmed working on our devices.
Sent from my LT25i using xda app-developers app
I'd suggest you to wait for a laptop rather than attempt anything not confirmed, because if something gets messed up you can't fix it without a laptop again. So enjoy the bloatware!
