[Q] CyanogenMod Wi-Fi Problem

Hi,
I have flashed my N1 with CM6.1.1 around 2 weeks ago. I'm really satisfied with this ROM.
However, I have noticed my Wi-Fi has gone a little bit weird after flashing CM. Regardless of the Wi-Fi sleep policy setting, my N1 won't turn off the Wi-Fi after it's locked. When I unlock my N1, I can watch the wi-fi icon disappear and then re-appear after a few seconds.
Now I have to manually turn off the Wi-Fi before locking my N1 to conserve the battery. Does anyone know how to get rid of this bug?
Thanks.
i will give you one tip which is its better to leave wifi ON when your phone goes to sleep because it's much better for battery life. if you let wifi turn off during sleep, the phone switches to 3g data which drains far more battery than leaving it on wifi.
now about the disconnect issue, i'm not quite sure what you're seeing. i have a problem with cyanogen 6 where my wifi disconnects for about 3 seconds, and this happens about every 10 minutes or so. its very annoying. but when my phone goes to sleep, i wake it up and still see wifi connected. so no issues there for me.
Wildmonk has some kernel just to address the WiFi issues.
I suggest WM kernel with CM ROM anyway
The problem occurs randomly. Sometimes my phone "knows" it should turn the wi-fi off when it's locked. But most of the time it doesn't...
I think I will live with it.
Anyway. Thanks for the reply.
My WiFi still disconnects every few minutes, then re connects again. It drives me nuts. Cyanogen 6.0
to momomok,
I think you have misunderstood the word "sleep" for Wifi, here sleep means when you are not using your phone the Wifi will turn off temporarily instead of infinitely. It's more like a nap. As you unlock the phone, Wifi will get awake. That's why you will see it re-appear after a few seconds.

wifi keeps turning off not sleep policy

So the sleep policy is set to never. This is on a fresh factory reset (did it before the reset too). No applications installed at all. It's a tmobile tab that I use without a sim card, just on wifi. It works fine, if I keep it awake wifi will stay on and connected. Any time I leave it for more than a few minutes and wake it up, it is no longer connected and I have to turn wifi off and back on again to get it to connect. Whats up here?

[LSC] Keep wifi on during sleep

After upgrading to LSC, I noticed that "Keep wifi on during sleep" when set to NEVER, no longer work. Under battery, wifi is constantly ON.
Any one has a fix for this ?

Any APP to prevent deep sleep?

Hi!
Having troubles with a 520 because once it enters the deep sleep state, it'll start getting Whatsapp notifications only when waking it up.
No battery saving setting is turned on.
An APP that wakes the device from time to time would help.
Thanks.
Perhaps you either have cellular data turned off, have no data signal, or are set to only receive notifications over WiFi? By default, WP turns off WiFi when the screen is off and the phone isn't plugged in. I think there might be an option to change that, but I don't recall where it would be.
There are definitely apps that will cause WiFi to stay on in the background (I think pretty much any streaming music app does this?), but those will wreck the battery life if you just leave them on all day. Apps are also able to periodically (~every 30 minutes) do some stuff in the background even in the phone is sleeping, but I'm not sure if this is allowed to wake up the WiFi and cause it to connect.
If the problem isn't WiFi instead of cellular data, I really don't know what's going on.

Wifi lollipop keeps turning. On

Wifi lollipop keeps turning. On I keep it turned off if I'm closer wifi range it turns on I have everything turned turnoff
Did you disable google location shenanigans? That'll turn it back on, or you might have an app with permission to connect.
