hi all,
Been reading these forums and decided to Install CyanogenMod 7
I rooted my phone
backed it up
Installed CyanogenMod 7
Part of the install procedure is Wipe data/factory reset which I didn't really give much thought to until after I had done it.
Since I have a full backup can I get me data back (contacts, messages, favourites) i'd settle for just getting my contacts back if possible
Hey
U can get it back if you had all that in your backup...
Just restore from backup..it'll work..
Cheers

Looks like he tried restoring stock rom backup from a CM rom.
Dude you need to flash a stock rom through Odin. Read the flash and root tutorials, all is given there.

Hang on boot=bootloop? If yes then no brick here, just wipe and it will work.

n00bs. Try keep reading until your eyes are broken.
Nope, GT-S5570i needs firmware splitting. Cause only Odin V1.85 can detect this phone, and needs all package not one package.
So my ohone is rooted and I deleted some system apps and i dont even remember which ones so now i want to update and my phone wont do with ota so need a solution to this. Will downgrading to GB solve the prob...???
You can install the same rom again using pc odin.
I did that but didn't seem to workout

Got cwm recovery?
Didnt make a backup?
If you havent got cwm, flash a cwm recovery image (with a new kernel... Dunno what system files u removed so...) using odin or heimdall.
Next: flash the rom of your likings after a full wipe.
After all that: BACKUP (using cwm).
Goodluck.

You dont need odin.find a safe kernel like philz or abyss then download the stock rom and follow the steps for flashing it(i dont know whether requires wipe or not!)

Ota update is not available for modified roms.i think he is talking about that
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
hes not using a custom rom. he just rooted a stock rom and deleted some apps. This will not cause an issue with OTA unless he deleted the software updater
