[Q] previously purchased and used setCPU, now can't download - Nexus S Themes and Apps

i've been using setCPU for a long time, but today I decided to wipe my phone clean and start fresh.
when I went to the market to download setCPU, it's now telling me that it's incompatible/unavailable for my phone.
anyone have any ideas?

Not sure why that would be but you can download the apk from here and try to install manually.

Irritating Market issue

I received my phone back a few days ago and I instantly flashed Cyan 5.0.6 test 3.
However I have a really annoying issue where my Market isn't quite 'correct'.
It seems to be missing the 'top paid' tab.
It also takes an age to load the info for any app I click on and the status stays at 'installing' even though it is installed and it will only refresh when I reboot.
I have tried to restore the backed up propriety apps, nandroid backup and restore, flashed a stock rom, flashed cyan 5.0.1
But NOTHING works.
I know the slow market is related to the missing tab, it's like half of the market app hasn't loaded properly.
I had this issue before my phone went off for repair and one day it fixed (I don't know how) but as soon as it did, it performed as it should and it took seconds to load app data and install, it also stated the app was installed.
I suppose what I'm looking for is HOW can I completely reload the Market from scratch?
Thanks guys.
J
Wow that is so weird... I assume you do wipe/cache/dalvik before flashing a ROM right? Have you tried cyan 5.0.6 yet? If not, give it a try, do the wipe before flash of course, and hope that works... Also, do you have a backup app? like titanium back up or back up pro? Did you set it to auto restore perhaps? Probably just a bad market back up? Thats all I can think about... If it doesnt work, then its beyond me brother

Hi Man,
I know it's really bugging me.
I've tried everything including wiping the Dalvik and normal cache.
I think I might try Enomer's ROM to see if that solves it but I can only tether at the moment as we've moved house and I won't have BB back for 2 weeks.
I have Titanium pro installed as I have over 400 apps on my phone!
Hey bro,
Apparently there have been a few reports about the same issue with the market, probably has something to do with the market update. Anyway, try uninstalling the market via titanium if you can that is. And reinstall. Nandroid before doing it.

[Q] What did I do to my phone??

For the most part I was just looking for the wifi tether app. So I did one click root and everything was still good. Downloaded rom manager, everything was still good, installed the clockworkmod. Phone rebooted and I had to do the update thing. Phone rebooted, still good. Installed busybox and lost the ability to usb tether my phone. Removed the busybox and got tether back. Downloaded the beast update and told rom manager to reboot into recovery and installed update, rebooted, update didn't take, did it again and still nothing. Finally booted phone and manually entered recovery mode and ran update. This one took. Now I go to try run the wifi app and it force closes. Tried to run super user app, force close. Tried to run rom mananger to restore last backup and super user fails there too. Any ideas?

This doesn't belong in development.
I would suggest you flash back to stock using Odin.

Post in Q&A
You removed busybox which is necessarily for many rooted apps, hence you get a lot of FCs

Why don't you pruds try to help and not criticize that is what is wrong with this Dev Forum God forbid if you all come down off your this is a dev forum.
It looks like you rooted twice with 2 different apps. Not sure what that would do bit it cant be good.
I would one click to stock, then run unleash the beast and be done with it.

Moved to Q&A.
Thank for moving it to the correct forum, I guess I figured since it was a problem with something from dev that is where I should post, my bad. As for the rooting twice the post said it was ok if you were already rooted.
Ok, so I used the one click root and took it back, re ran unleash and still same problem. According to the post it should install busy box at the time of the installation. It didn't, I downloaded it but it won't install.
Thanks, I flashed back with odin. I was able to install the beast, however wifi tether continually crashes with force close. I tried to update with the new install but it still crashes.

Dude. So let me get this straight. You don't like it when people just complain and don't help, and yet I helped (well, tried, sorry it didn't work lol) and then let loose a rant about posting in the right area, and then you complain and don't help.....???

help my phone cannot download apps from the market anymore

I am on continuum v6 rc1 now but this problem has been persistent on serendipity and apex 7.1. I am on wifi and whenever I download an app from the market, it stays on the downloading bar and never downloads. I know that the connection is not the issue as I have been using it for other internet related things on the phone. I have flashed back to stock jf6 and master cleared before applying the latest continuum and the problem remains. I have also tried removing the market update, clearing cache, and rebooting. Nothing has fixed the issue, and upon rebooting, the apps that are attempting to download still appear in the notification tray without any success.
Please help...
Will they download on jf6?
did you g to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear data?
also sometimes the market is just stubborn try one at a time and when it stalls like that click on it and select to download again. sometimes takes 3 or 4 tries before it acually downloads
I was able to download apps from the market on stock jf6. But now I am on cyanogenmod7 nightly 40 and I am still unable to download apps. This is very frustrating because I do not want to stay on jf6 just so I can use the market. What else should I try?

Sorry I forgot to tell you I already tried that.
Does anyone else have any suggestions. I feel like I've tried everything and still no luck.
This happened to me, sorry to tell you but.. you have to do a factory reset. Get titanium backup and backup everything important to you.
If you find sgs tools its an app trying putting this app on your phone by downloading it on a computer as an apk and put it on your sd card and install it then there is a spot that says run script find the market this will unistall market and reinstall it this could work
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I tried both of your suggestion and neither worked. For a factory reset, I retrurned to stock and master cleared. While on atock the market was working. But now that I have flashed a gingerbread rom it does not work. I tried going into settings and doing a factory reset from the privacy screen. This simply earased the data on my sd leavng the apps on my phone. And the issue remains. I also tried using sgs tools to uninstall and reinstall the market and again no luck.

Google market rendered completely unuseable

My market is entirely useless right now. The new style market, soon after i open the app, tells me that the app has stopped unexpectedly (process com.android.vending). The many forums of the internets say to delete the app's cache, delete the data, and uninstall the updates.
Okay, so we're back to the old market. Now, what it does is, whenever i go to an app's page, it tells me that a server error has occured, and asks if i want to retry or cancel. Retry gives the same pop up. Cancel takes me back a page, and then going forward a page brings up the pop up again. This effectively makes my market useless.
The problem started when i flashed CM7. I don't know if that's relevant or not. I tried flashing back to serendipity, but for some reason, i'm stuck on CM7. I am unable to flash back, so if anyone has any ideas to help on that front as well, it would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Try using odin to get on a captivate based rom.
Go into applications and wipe data from the market. Then try a reboot . That's how i get mine working on both my phones

Yeah, that's what i was considering as my next step. I have no clue how to work odin though; i'll search around, of course, but if someone could link me to a guide to using odin, it would save me some time.

Done that. No good.
I'd uninstall market (in TiBu) then wipe cache and dalvik in CWM recovery followed by reinstalling market.

download one of the one clicks reboot your phone into download mode, see a yellow box appear as COM, and hit start, I recommend doing atomic fusion odin then going to fusion kj1

Google Play keeps Force Closing

I just re-installed the GingerVolt 1.3 ROM and then installed the ICS Theme for it, and it worked fine, until i opened the Market Place (or Play store, whatever you wanna call it lol) and then when I download something it causes the Market Place to force close, and every time i try to open the Market Place after that, it just automatically force closes and wont let me open it. Then I reboot the phone, and i will let me open it again but as soon as I try and download something, it does it all over again, and keeps doing it until i reboot the phone again. So I Restored the phone to the last backup I made, which I wasn't having this problem when i made that backup. But now, even after I restored the backup its still giving me the same problem. So I don't know wtf the problem is and how to fix it, restoring the backup i made was my only idea. But as i said, even after restoring the backup, its still happening. So does anyone know what the problem might be, and how I can possibly fix it.
And now its not letting me open it at all. I rebooted my phone 3 times and now it just force closes even if I don't try to download something first. WTF ! This is frustrating, I've never not been able to fix an issue on my phones before, but I can't seem to figure this one out. I wish there was a way to delete the market place and re-install it. But as far as I know there isn't a way....is there ?
As far a being able to reinstall the market you should be able to download gapps and flash it via cwm recovery.

But I am wondering it could be an issue with an incompatible with the newer radio and the one ment for GingerVolt 1.3.... What is your current as version (like mine is vs910v9)? If I'm thinking correctly the last sw version that supported GingerVolt was v7. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Try wiping the app cache. If that doesn't work, try that and wiping cache/dalvik.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
I tried wiping the cache a couple times already before posting this, but I hadn't tried wiping the dalvik, but I just wiped both and still no go, and now as soon as my phone loads into the homescreen, it tells me that Google play has forced closed before I even try opening it. Before it wasn't happening til I opened it and tried to download something, then it would start forcr closing everytime I tried to open it, but like I said, now it force closes as soon as my phone boots into the homescreen. So something is definitely corrupted it seems. I think I am gonna have to completely restore my phone back to factory settings. Unfortunately my backup that I made when I first got the phone almost 2yrs ago has been lost somehow, so I am going to have to reset the phone manually. Which I've never done on this phone so I am gonna have to look up how to do it.
Unless anyone else has some suggestions on fixing this issue so I don't have to go to that extreme.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
Oh and baseband version is VS910ZV7
And I don't think gingervolt is my problem cause it worked fine until I installed the ICS aka Kangwhich theme, that's when Google play started messing up and force closing on me.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
You could try just flashing the play store aka gapps. You can get it through the link I gave in my other post.
http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps#20110828
If that doesn't work then there's always flash back to stock via the tot file for which ever Version you choose (pain to get it setup but very handy to have if an issue like this arises)
