Hey all,
was wondering if anyone has a thrive rom dump? has some interesting sounding apps that would be awesome if we could get them over to the xoom, such as:
Perhaps our favorite app -- second only, perhaps, to File Manager -- is PrinterShare, an app that allows you to find nearby printers and print documents, photos, and webpages over WiFi. We fell in love as much with its ease of use as its utility. Just open the app, select an application from which you might want to print something, and then find a list of printable documents (or, in the case of the Gmail app, messages). We wish every tab came with something like this out of the box.

edit: nvm - mods delete if you want, couldn't find a thrive section, but just did a search, :fail: on my part sorry
you found it then? Could you post it?
Printershare is available on android market. The version from the thrive system dump doesn't look any different.
All of the games from the Thrive sysdump install and work fine on my Xoom.
BackgammonToshiba.apk
EuchreToshiba.apk
HeartsToshiba.apk
SolitaireToshiba.apk
SpadesToshiba.apk
NFSShift.apk - HD Version Demo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1165989
The Toshiba File Manager is worthless on Xoom, built for their device - stick with Root Explorer or ES.
i couldnt install backgammon, and printer share always hangs at 61% when openning a document.
Im having a really hard time downloading the whole system dump on my xoom. Could you possibly upload the apps that work well on our xooms?

Can you elaborate a bit more, please? What version of Dolphin HD are you running? How did you access the apps tab from there?
Which image did you use for rooting?
The new Nooter image (2.12.15 released 14/Dec/2010) does all of these things for you. If you re-read the isntructions on Nook Devs you will see this spelled out for you.........
Interesting. The page must have been updated after I rooted. Very good tablet fr the price. May just reyurn my galaxy tab.

So are you saying that you actually used the new auto-nooter-2.12.15? And that you didn't sign into YouTube, then sync Gmail before firing up the Market?
I don't think I used the new version after all. I certainly did not follow the new steps. I had an existing account from my tab somaybe that made the difference. If there is any wayto tell which autonooter I am usingg I can check that. It was very sttage because at first I got an error message when connecting to marketplace directly but I was ableto getthere jsing the apps link from dolphin hd.

Just saw an article about it on Engadget. It's a bunch of free flash games. They actually run smooth. Let it load up for the first couple of seconds or so, then play. Just played the first round of vector shooter and it was smooth as butter. Touchscreen friendly too.
Arcade by Kongregate
I downloaded it also and the games all run extremely well, however instead of this thread being full of posts of praise why dont we all just say which applications in the 'Kongregate Arcade' we think are great - which would make this thread a lot more useful!
1. Vector Runner - great game!
EDIT: It seems i was misunderstood, i meant which games in the Kongregate Arcade itself are good (As there are over 300 in their databases ATM)
we have, it's in the other sub section
No matter what I do I can't find the app in the market. Anyone got the apk?

kongregate: We're working with Google to restore access in the Market, but in the meantime you can download it from http://www.kongregate.com/android

I just bought a new LG T-Mobile G2X phone. It has Need For Speed- Shift preloaded on it.
It looks great on the G2x and I think it would be a blast on the Xoom tablet.
Does anybody on here know how to extract the files for use on our tablets?

Apk should be in /data/ and the extra game data will be in. /sdcard/ in a folder named the publishers name or something similar to the game title.

I have it on my Acer A500, it is huge and resides in /system/app/NFS.apk. It is 97.5MB, there is a lib in /system/lib/libnfsshift.so as well, and you will need that in place for the game to work. I can provide these files if desired.
Worked, thanks
Thanks alot!
woot, thanks for the apk!
Just curious why does it require access to almost everything? lol
Wow Thnx for the link
Thx for the APK.
I wish Tiger Woods 12 would come out for Android instead of just iPhone/iPad. It's so fun on iPad...
Works quite good, but by far not as good as the optimized App on the Acer A500.
I tried to install a backup of this app from the A500, but this failed

YES ITS TRUE
Some Chinese Developers of android mipad device have modded the original ADOBE FLASH 10.1 APP for android and made it compatible for most ARMv6 and ARMv7 ( arm 11 family ) devices.
the app is found to be working on most android devices with ARMv6 and ARMv7 phones like LG OPTIMUS ONE , XPERIA X8 , ZTE blade , Samsung prevail, etc..
Instructions:
1. Download and copy to sdcard.
2. Use a file manager and navigate to the apk, install it.
3. Reboot the phone and all done .
Additional notes:
* Make sure to have "unknown sources" enabled on settings > applications.
* It won't work on Opera Mini.
* Works with both froyo and gingerbread (confirmed).
* Works best with dolphin browser HD

Wait. Does this play well with Flash Lite, and does it work in /system/app?
EDIT: It forces me out of both stock and Dolphin HD browsers every time I try to load any page with embedded flash. It loads the player and buffers, but once it tries to start playing I get sent back to my launcher. No FC, just closes the browser and kicks me back to my launcher.

flash
Just downloaded and installed. Must say it appears to be working so far without any problem. Thanks Mattix for the heads up on this one.
I recommend removing the flashlite plugin now that we can use the real deal.
Edit: I can load sites such as Adult Swim Games without being sent back to the home screen, except there is no hard keyboard so I can't actually play, but when I try loading a video on the YouTube page it loads the embedded flash player and it buffers but if you click on full screen it loads then attempts to play then crashes back to the home screen.

So that's a no-go for video support?
I want my porn without having to tether. Oh! Whoops! Did I just type that?
Sent from my Zio using XDA App
As far as I can tell flash videos are buggy and crash... but as far as your porn I cannot help you on that.
With this modified version of flash 10.1 there should be more versions fairly soon.

I was thinking the same thing. Soon flash will be a mainstay whether Adobe likes it or not.
Where can I find the link?

Just in case, here's the site for the download.

Wow, I can't even get it to install! The flash player NOR the new updated market 3.2! Don't tell me its gota be that rooted thing to install em?
Now I'm so broke i can't even pay attention!
Yes it requires root... why don't you just root and solve all of your problems?
Sent from my Zio using xda premium
Ok, I finally rooted using universal androot, but what's the big deal with it? Now what can I do? Shoot me some examples everybody.
Now I'm so broke i can't even pay attention!
You have full control of your phone now, you can use wireless tether to share your cricket service, you can explore the system partition and delete unwanted apps but be careful what you delete or change, you can use terminal emulator if you are familiar with the command line and Linux commands, you can change system settings with something like blade buddy or similar apps, basically root means you have full control to do anything within the OS.

Works awesome. No more Skyfire browser. Running Dolphin Mini now and works like a dream.
Someone school me please. I'm rooted, installed the flash player above, but some sites [like mythbusters/discoverychannel] still say I NEED FLASH PLAYER 10.1.0.0 OR HIGHER WITH JAVASCRIPT ENABLED TO VIEW THIS SITE. Well, I got both so what am I doing/did wrong?
Now I'm so broke i can't even pay attention!
Tried link and says no longer available! Is there working link to it available?

I installed the link for flash player 10.2.157.340.apk installed with out a problem. your link above says the Cricket Zio is not supported.
Somebody please get this up and going for the xoom
I was about to side load it....see how that goes.
XOOM
Why bother? It's a POS compared to WordFeud.
I was just going to install this when I noticed the app doesn't install on Xoom. I must say this makes me really disappointed and brings a huge spotlight to splintered status of Android.
That said, I find it hard to blame Google solely. I much rather blame EA. Its not like they couldn't have made the app work on both platforms.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
I side-loaded it. It works but not great. It is 1/4 screen and has graphical issues in the unused space. The music sucks too. I haven't gotten to play a game yet but the game does seem to run and the HC3.2 full screen trick will probably handle the screen size issues.

Can you post a link to the APK, I would like to give it a go even though it apparently only partially works. Or send to [email protected] Thanks!

I loaded it on my TB, haven't tried moving it to my Xoom yet...
It is disappointing that this new Free version doesn't support "local" play only... or play against the "computer."
Anyone get the apk out?

That would be warez, unless of course you are asking for the trial version. The trial version does suck a$$ though. See below.

+1 It is pointless for me, i just wanted to grab a quick me vs computer game to try it before i buy it.
There was a free version of scrabble. So that would not be warez. Anyone know where to find the apk in the file system? I can pull it from my TB or tab.
